He should be well rested as he hasn't made more tan two straight starts since the beginning of January.  He has been very consistent since the calendar flipped to 2017 as he has won 12 of his last 14 starts with three shutouts. Tonight the Caps and their #1 defense get a matchup vs. the Canes and their 17th ranked offense. Although the Canes have won three straight, they really struggle on the road(7-14-6) scoring more than two goals just once in their last eight road games. Holtby is safe in all formats.   Matthew Murray FD - $9200 DK - $7700 Opponent - CGY Proj Pts FD - 18.95 DK - 4.74 If you are looking for a little saving at the goalie position tonight, get Murray in your lineups in an elite home matchup. He should also be well rested as Marc-Andre Fleury got the start and win in the Pens last game. Murray is the clear #1 option in Pittsburgh despite a few struggles pre All-Star break. He obviously didn't let those struggles get to him as he came out of the break winning two straight games, stopping 65 of 70 shots he faced....

You will not see me write the word safe today, which is rare for me because I'm mainly a cash game player. But I've also had experience with a GPP or two before. Let's start off with my favorite goalie for today's slate. Schneider has won two of his last three starts. Last time out, he stopped 31 out of 32 shots in Columbus en-route to a 5-1 victory for the Devils. New Jersey scored five goals in one game? Oh my goodness! The Sabres are actually a much better offensive team on the road, as they rank 15th in the league in goals scored. Schneider is still a good goalie, he just plays on a below average team. I'm looking for him to shut the door on the Sabres this evening and I believe that he is our best bet for a win and possibly a shutout.       CENTERS John Tavares FD - $8300 DK - $7600 Opponent - TOR Proj Pts FD - 19.17 DK - 5.5 Auston Matthews is going to be very popular tonight and with good reason. The Leafs have been scoring a ton of goals lately, but they've also been letting in goals like nobody's business. When it is a tough day, I will say that I give you the best of the worst option. Well, today it is more like the best of the best and my top choice is the future Hall of Famer King Henrik. The Rangers welcome the Calgary Flames and their below average 19th ranked offense to town today and New York is currently listed as -150 favorites according to Vegas. Lundqvist hasn't had the best year so far by his standards, but he stood on his head last game in Buffalo as he turned aside 36 of 37 shots for the victory. He also should have plenty of support today, as the Rangers are ranked #2 on offense. The Jets are the biggest favorites(-160) of the three early games which has me leaning Pavelec. To be honest, I would only recommend playing GPP's in the early slate as Pavelec just doesn't ring those "safety" bells to me. Despite being on the road, he gets a great matchup vs. the Avalanche who rank dead last in both offense and defense and have been terrible at home(5-18-1) all season long.       Main Slate Pekka Rinne FD - $9100 DK - $8100 Opponent - DET Proj Pts FD - 18.7 DK - 4.67 Looking at the 10 game main slate, there are two big favorites(SJ/NSH), both at home in great spots to come out victorious and produce the top goalie of the night. I lean Rinne over Jones for two reasons. First of all, the Sharks rank third overall in shots against and Jones has only seen around 26 shots per 60 minutes which really limits the floor on a night to night basis. Playing in cash games today is not advisable, but I'm stubborn and I will still have my share of 50/50 and double-up lineups. I couldn't believe how amazing that Greiss has been until I read his stats last night. The German netminder is 5-0-1 in his last six games with an outstanding 1.32 goals against average, a .955 save percentage and two shutouts. Tonight the Islanders travel to Detroit to play the Wings and their not so good 24th ranked offense. Greiss shouldn't be a popular pick today because Detroit is a slight favorite as of now.
