We got a see a record 18 overtime games without one game seven in any series and there were just two sweeps. Anaheim swept Calgary but credit the  Flames as they were in every game and three of the four games were one-goal games. The Predators swept the Blackhawks but that wasn't the biggest shock as they also held the Blackhawks to three total goals and shut them out twice. The second round brings us four of the Top 10 offenses(goals per 60 min) in Pittsburgh(1st), Washington(3rd), New York Rangers(4th) and Nashville(10th). Conversely, we get three of the Top 10 defenses including Washington(1st), Anaheim(7th), and Ottawa(9th). We are going to switch things up a little bit for the second round as there are going to be a bunch of two-game slates. OTTAWA SENATORS BOS Offense (16th) vs. OTT Defense (9th) OTT Offense (19th) vs. BOS Defense (10th) Series Update - OTT 3-2 It's due or die time again for the Bruins as they clawed back into the series in game five with a 3-2 overtime win. It started with the Sens taking a 1-0 lead into the second period where they quickly made it 2-0 after a bad defensive play led to a Pageau breakaway goal. The Bruins showed character battling back on the road to tie the game at two before the second period ended. The two teams traded chances in the third and two overtime periods before Sean Kuraly ended it with his second tally of the night. ST LOUIS BLUES STL Offense (14th) vs. MIN Defense (4th) MIN Offense (2nd) vs. STL Defense (18th) Series Update - STL 3-1 I think we all thought that Minnesota had absolutely no answer for the Blues and they would be put out of their misery in St. Louis. Well, we were wrong as Devan Dubnyk stopped all 28 shots and the Wild won 2-0. Dubnyk is very dangerous when he is on his game and now the series shifts back to Minnesota in one of the loudest arenas in the NHL.
