Valspar Championship Innisbrook Resort(Copperhead Course) Par 71, 7340 Yards This week the PGA Tour makes a stop at the Copperhead Course for the Valspar Championship. Last week the players had to face the Bear Trap at Trump National Doral and this week it is the Snake Pit (16,17,18). The Snake Pit is ranked top 5 hardest closing 3 hole stretch on tour. The course is tree-lined with a few holes where water comes into play making it an unusual Florida course. The main defense the course uses is the smaller fairways and thick roughs. When I looked back at previous years I noticed the top guys only hit average fairways but well above average in GIR and Scrambling. Another thing I have noticed in my spreadsheet when it comes to Vegas Odds this week is Vegas is really favoring guys in top of the Strokes Gained: Tee to Green stat more than any other. There has been efficient, accurate golfers mixed in with some bombers near the top last few years here. The Copperhead course has been used in every Valspar Championship so there is a lot of course history to go off of. I will again be looking at course history, recent form, and the following stats to make my picks for this week. Ball Striking Greens in Regulation Scrambling Srokes Gained: Tee to Green Tier 1 Targets (DK Price $8600-Max) Luke Donald - $9900 (Vegas Odds – 29/1) My first pick this week is Luke Donald who doesn't exactly have the greatest stats to back up being my top pick. He is average for SG: Tee to Green and an above average scrambler. The reason for the pick is his course history. Donald has not missed a cut here and hasn't finished outside the Top 20 in his last 4 attempts. He even won the event in 2012. He finished T49 last week at Doral on a tough course and a T7 the week before that. Roll with Donald this week with a price below $10,000 and you will be able to build a strong lineup around him. Jim Furyk - $10,900 (Vegas Odds – 21/1) Next on my list is Jim Furyk, who is also a previous winner at this event. Besides the win his track history is real good(2014-T20 2013-T7 2012-T2 2011-T13 2010-WIN). He has made 6/7 cuts here. Furyk also has some great stats to back up...
Draftkings Daily PGA Fantasy Picks – WGC Cadillac Championship
PGA Daily Fantasy Picks WGC Cadillic Championship DFSR is proud to bring you our newest contributor Chris Durell. WGC Cadillic Championship Trump National Doral Par 72, 7481 Yards This week’s tournament is a World Golf Championship event which features no cut. This event has been played at Trump National Doral since 2007 and up until last year’s tournament the average score was around -17. Following Tiger Woods win in 2013 the course was re designed by Gil Hanse, who is designing the course for the 2016 Olympics. The course was lengthened, especially the Par 5 1st hole, which was one of the tour’s easiest Par 5’s. The other big change made to the course was the addition of strategic water placement. The old design seen water come into play on 6 holes where as the new design sees water on 10 holes. The wind at Doral is no longer the only defense for the course. The course has four Par 5’s, Four Par 3’s, and 10 Par 4’s. The early weather forecast is showing some wind, but not like this past week. There is chance of rain for Saturday but for the most part it looks to be nice weather for the event. For this week’s picks I have split all the golfers into 3 tiers. I will provide analysis on three Tier 1 golfers, three Tier 2 Golfers and two Tier 3 golfers. I will be looking closely at current form this week as this will be a tough test for struggling players to turn it around. Due to the course re design I will be looking mostly at 2014 results for course history but will also look back to 2007 to see who plays well at Doral. The stats I am crunching this week are: Driving Distance Strokes Gained:Tee to Green Strokes Gained:Putting Greens in Regulation Par 4 Scoring Average Par 5 Scoring Average Tier 1 Targets (DK Price $8000-MAX) Bubba Watson - $12,400 (Vegas Odds – 15/1) Both years Bubba Watson won the Masters at Augusta he finished 2nd at this tournament. He also sandwiched a T18 in between in 2013. Bubba has started this year very strong with three top 15’s(Northern Trust-T14, Phoenix Open-T2, Tournament of Champions-10). When you combine his course history, current form and the following stats, Bubba becomes a top pick for this week and should have a chance to win. Driving Distance - 2014(1) 2015(14) SG:Tee to Green - 2014(7) 2015(9) SG:Putting - 2014(110) 2015(26) Greens in Reg - 2014(24)...

Farmers Insurance Open Recap To start off my second article I would like to look back at last week’s picks and give you quick recap of results. Jimmy Walker (T7) – Climbed into contention on Saturday but couldn’t strike on Sunday Hideki Matsyuma (MC) – Couldn’t get the putter going. Made a few chip ins which over shadowed the poor performance Martin Laird (T7) – Had 3 rounds under 70 and if not for a 76 Saturday in the tough weather he would have been at top of the leaderboard Charley Hoffman (MC) – Was unable to make birdies in tougher conditions Brendan De Jonge (T27) – Played a nice 5 under to make the cut then faded a bit on the weekend playing at a 3 over but solid finish for the price Ryo Ishikawa (MC) – Shot a steady even par the first 2 days but it wasn’t enough to make the cut Hudson Swafford (MC) – This long shot came close to making the cut but not enough birdies Friday has him miss out on the weekend. Carlos Ortiz (T11) – This long shot paid off at his price if you used him. Great finish for the youngster. To recap I hit 1 player in every Tier who made the cut and finished with two T7’s, a T11, and a T27. Looking to improve on those numbers this week ladies and gents! On to this week. AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Courses Pebble Beach Golf Links – Par 72 (6816 Yds), Monterey Peninsula Country Club Shore Course – Par 71 (6867 Yds) Spyglass Hill Golf Course – Par 72 (6953 Yds) This week the PGA Tour makes a stop at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro Am. Much like the Humana Challenge this event will be played at 3 different courses for the first 3 days before the cut is made. During these 3 days each player is matched with a celebrity/amateur player and gets a chance to play each course. All 3 courses are under 7000 yards in distance and each course has four Par 5’s. This week I will be looking closely at course history and how players faired at the Humana as playing with an amateur for 3 days at a slower than usual pace can affect their games. I will also be looking at current form and these...

Farmers Insurance Open Course Torrey Pines South – Par 72 (7698 yds) Torrey Pines North – Par 72 (7050 yds) Last Year’s Winner – Scott Stallings(-9) This week the PGA tour makes a stop at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California for the Farmers Insurance Open. The Farmers Insurance Open is played on two courses(Torrey Pines North & South) with the South Course being one of the longest and hardest on tour. All players get a shot at the North and South courses Thursday and Friday. After the cut has been established the remaining players will play the final 36 holes on the South course only. Torrey Pines North has traditionally scored 1-3 strokes better than the South course, which is to be expected with an almost 700 yard difference. Putting will be a premium stat this week with the Poa Annua greens which can get bumpier throughout the day. When making my picks I use a combination of factors each week. I use 3-5 stat categories that fit the course layout, Vegas Odds, past performances, current form. The stat categories I will be using this week are: All Around Ranking Driving Distance Greens in Regulation Proximity to Hole Strokes Gained: Putting Strokes Gained: Tee to Green Tier 1 Targets (DraftKings price $8500-Max) Jimmy Walker $14,000 (Vegas Odds- 15/1) – I found it tough to pick between the top 3 guys this week. First off, Walker is the cheapest of the 3. In comparing course history it comes down to Day & Walker where each have had 2 top 10’s and a MC in last 3 trips. Finally when I look at stats Walker comes out on top. He is top 30 in all 6 categories highlighted by a 3rd in All Around Ranking, 11th in Strokes Gained Putting and 13th in Strokes Gained Tee to Green. Hideki Matsyuma $11,700 (Vegas Odds-21/1) – My second choice this week in the first Tier is Matsyuma. He is $2300 cheaper than Walker with the same upside in my eyes. He is top 40 in 5/6 stats categories with a 8th in All Around Ranking, 9th in Strokes Gained Tee to Green, 21st in Proximity to Hole. His weakest stat is putting at 69th which is on the fringe of what I am looking for. In his only start at the Farmers he finished tied for 16th last year. For...
