Deutsche Bank Championship TPC Boston - Norton, MA Par 71, 7,214 Yards Jason Day took over the Fedex Cup points lead after a 6 stroke win at the Barclays last weekend. Day played very well in picking up his third win in four events including the PGA Championship and his first major. With the elite field at the Barclays Day was still able to pull away on Sunday, birdieing five of the final nice holes. The favorite going into the tournament, Jordan Spieth, failed to make the cut and struggled mightily but only fell one spot behind Day in the standings due to his gigantic lead going in. Both Day and Spieth will have a shot at taking over #1 in the world this weekend with a win. Not an easy task as Rory(Current #1) will be back to try climb up the Fedex Cup points and stay at #1 in the world. Either way it will make for an exciting weekend in round 2 of the playoffs. On to next week! The 2nd round of the PGA Tour Fedex Cup playoffs will be the Deutsche Bank Championship. Unlike the Barclays rotating course schedule, the Deutsche Bank Championship has been played at TPC Boston since 2003 when the Fedex Cup Playoffs started. The course is a Par 71, 7214 Yard test for the final 100 players in the race for the Fedex Cup. Come Sunday afternoon, only the top 70 players in the standings will move on to BMW Championship. When looking back at previous Deutsche Bank leaderboards the one thing that sticks out is the frequency of the elite players in the game. The final score usually ranges between -15 and -20 so scoring will be essential again this week. The course has three Par 5's and two of them will be easily approachable in two for most of the field. To contend this week golfers will have to go -2 to -4 each day on these holes. There are also a number of shorter par 4 holes and two of them are driveable by most of the field. I will...
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks for DraftKings, Victiv, & Fantasy Feud – The Barclays

The Barclays Plainfield Country Club - Edison, NJ Par 72, 7,091 Yards Davis Love III won the Wyndham Championship on Sunday to secure his spot in the Fedex Cup playoffs. He came into the tournament in 186th in the standings and with the win moved to 76th in the standings and inside the top 100 cutline which will come after the Barclays this weekend. Four other players broke the bubble and played their way into the first playoff event at the Barclays. Jason Gore, with his 2nd place finish, moved from 166th in the standings to 98th. The other three to play their way in were Jonas Blixt(135th - 121st), Camillo Villegas(129th - 123rd), and Ryo Ishikawa(130th - 124th). Overall, it was an exciting event this past weekend. Tiger Woods had his best finish in two years and was a final round away from contending for another win. The crowds were huge throughout the entire weekend and Tiger playing like Tiger is only a good thing for the game. He didn't make the Fedex Cup playoffs but ended his season on a high note after a season of lows. This week the PGA Tour heads to Plainfield Country Club for the first of four playoff events in the race for the Fedex Cup and 10 million dollars. The top 125 golfers in the Fedex Cup standings have made it to the playoffs but not all will be teeing it up this weekend at the Barclays(Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, & Louis Oosthuisen most notably). The top 100 in the standings following this tournament will advance to the the Deutsche Bank Championship next week. From there the top 70 will advance to the BMW Championship and from there the top 30 advance to the Tour Championship at East Lake. The cutline for this tournament will still be top 70 and ties. The main course at Plainfield Country Club was originally designed by Donald Ross back in 1916. During the past 10 years architect Gil Hanse has lead some massive changes to the course including the removal of over 1200 trees, additions of bunkers lost years ago,...

WGC Bridgestone Invitational Firestone Country Club(South Course) - Akron, OH Par 70, 7,400 Yards Yards This week the PGA Tour will head to the Firestone Country Club for the World Golf Championship - Bridgestone Invitational. The top 70 golfers in the world plus invites will compete against one another for a shot at winning a WGC event that Tiger Woods has dominated over the years. The players won't have to worry about Tiger this year as he will not be playing. Forget about Tiger, there are so many golfers under 30 years old right now who are competing week in and week out. It makes for exciting golf and great finishes almost ever tournament. Before this year I have never paid this much attention to every tournament each week as I have this year now that I am writing about it. This is due to the massively growing DFS industry. It is a great time to be a golf and sports fan in general. Ok, on to the course this week. Firestone Country Club has been home to the WGC Bridgestone Invitational in 16 of the 17 years it has been around. The course was opened in 1929 and designed by Bert Way. It was redesigned in 1959 by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and became the course it is today with the help of some Jack Nicklaus tweaks along the way. The course is a Par 70, 7400 yard test for the golfers. It has two Par 5's(526/667 yards), four Par 3's(200/219/180/221 Yards) and 12 Par 4's(Between 399 & 394 Yards). To make it to the top of the leaderboard the players will have to excel on the Par 4 holes. With 8 of the 12 Par 4's 442+ Yards, driving distance will be a factor to have a decent approach at the greens. Not only is distance important, but accuracy will be as well with the rough not as friendly as most and will definitely penalize those who land in there on their first shot. With the greens being very fast not only will Greens in Regulation be important but Proximity...
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks for DraftKings, Victiv, & Fantasy Feud – Quicken Loans National

Quicken Loans National Robert Trent Jones Golf Club - Gainsville, VA Par 71, 7,385 Yards The RBC Canadian Open has wrapped up and the Canadian drought continues. David Hearn held the lead going into Sunday but could only muster an even par round to finish two strokes back of winner Jason Day. Another Canadian, Adam Hadwin, shot a 66 on Sunday to finish T7 for the week. As a Canadian myself, I was thrilled to see two guys in the top 10. As for Jason Day, it was clear he quickly shook off the missed putt at the Open Championship in Scotland. He had a 21 foot putt on 18 to get to -17 and take the clubhouse lead and put it right in the middle of the cup. Going into the PGA Championship, Day will definitely be one of the favorites. Now onto this week. The PGA Tour travels to Gainsville, Virginia this week for the Quicken Loans National at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club. This will be the first time the PGA Tour has visited this course for a stroke play event. The course has hosted the Presidents Cup four times(2005,2000,1996,1994) but not many of the players in the field played those events. I have highlighted the records of those who played the 2005 event in my cheatsheet this week. As there will be no course history to look at I have provided the Quicken Loans National results for each player over the past five years. It will give us a feel for what players get up for this tournament. The course has 11 Par 4's, three Par 5's, and four Par 3's. Six of the Par 4 holes are 450+ yards with the longest stretching to 500 yards. I will be looking closely at Par 4 Performance this week as well as Birdie or Better % from 175-200 Yards. There will be a lot of approaches on the par 4's from that distance and combine that with the Par 3 holes that are 175,190,200,210 yards in length. As for other stats, I will be looking at Strokes Gained:...
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Lineups – Travelers Championship

Travelers Championship TPC River Highlands - Cromwell, CT Par 70 - 6841 Yards The US Open almost carried over until Monday where we could have seen an 18 hole playoff between Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth. I might of had to take the entire day off for that one. For a brief moment Dustin Johnson had a 13 foot Eagle putt for the win after an incredible approach shot on the Par 5, 18th hole. He missed the putt leaving himself a 6 footer to send the tournament into a playoff. He missed that putt as well. The first time DJ has 3 putted inside 15 feet all year. What a time to make such a mistake. On the positive side of things, Jordan Speith took home his second consecutive Major Title and became only the 6th player in history to win both the Masters and US Open in the same year. This kid just never gives up and pushes himself on every shot. It was really fun to watch the closing 9 holes even though the course and USGA took heavy criticism during the week. I can understand the players complaints on the greens. They were awful. Most of the time it looked like plinko to try and find the hole. I have never seen so many guys 3 putt on tour before. As for the course overall I thought it was fun to watch players navigate through 4 days of such a challenging course. Every shot required great thought and planning to avoid danger and setup the next shot. It required amazing mental focus to stay upbeat when things start to take a turn for the worst. All in all another successful Major Championship which saw the best players in the world rise to the top. The Millionaire Maker saw another single entry take down the top prize. That is now 2 for 2 and should definitely help get some more new people playing DFS PGA when they know it doesn't require hundreds of lineups to compete in these tournaments. It was definitely a weird week when it came to scoring though. I had multiple lineups with 6...
