Sure, it’s a fine line to draw because there are so few punt options on short nights, but I’d rather spend for the higher floor than risk dollars on the ceiling. Mariota has been a nice tear lately, even for his price, coming in around 40 fantasy points over the past five weeks. Oregon has a ton of talent and speed on offense, but outside of Freeman, they don’t have anyone who dominates the touches. That translates to more touches for Mariota who averages almost ten carries and one rushing touchdown per game. Back in week 6 Oregon faced off against Zona and the perfect season was ruined. This week it’s about the Pac-12 Championship or revenge depending on how you look at it. Mariota, in what is likely his final game, will have the final say. Ducks roll. Drew Hare - FD 9300 DK 7700 If you’re not spending on Mariota you should look at Drew Hare. He is far from safe as his games have been all over the place, but the upside on such a short slate is worth the risk. This service is separate from our NFL projection system.   Quarterbacks Cody Fajardo - FD 9000 DK 8900 Grant Hedrick - FD 9000 DK 9100 These are my two favorite top end plays and pairing one of them with Chandler you still have enough firepower to land some big time players. Both quarterbacks are primarily pocket passers, but they also possess the ability make plays with their feet (something I love). They both have favorable matchups, but Nevada gets to play at home. I think Hedrick has a bit more upside mainly because Boise has a more explosive offense when things are clicking. Hedrick also has a guy a by the name of Ajayi who has been known to score multiple touchdowns per game. While it’s good because he keeps the defense honest and off balance, it also cuts into the scoring potential of Hedrick. Fajardo has decent skilled position players as well, but nothing like Jay Ajayi. Therefore Fajardo probably offers a bit more safety for cash games as his performances tend to be more even lined. Fajardo also has an edge in the rushing game. While they have basically the same number of carries (Fajardo 129& Hedrick 120), Fajardo has a 228 yard edge along with four more rushing TD’s (10 to 6). As the season nears an end, there are seemingly fewer slam dunk plays. The pricing has corrected itself (for the most part) and/or the matchups are difficult, not to mention we are entering rivalry week(s). I’m leaning Mariota for a few reasons. One, the price on Draftkings is 1k less and that can make a big difference. I get it, Barrett has been lights out, putting up numbers in the mid 40's, while Mariota has been putting up numbers in the mid to upper 30's. If both guys delivered their top-end performance then I would say the extra 1k for Barrett is well worth it. I typically look for about 4x price so an extra 7+ points for only 1k more in salary is solid value. Two, Mariota is the more consistent of the two. It’s almost like clockwork that Mariota finishes between 35 and 40 fantasy points. I’ll take the consistency and the higher floor in cash games. Third, I LOVE Royce Freeman and stacking them together puts you in a great position to capture most of the touchdwons on a team that scores in buckets. On Fanduel I view them as equal with maybe even Barrett getting the slight edge. Justin Holman - FD 7100 DK 5700 Speaking of value, Holman offers one of the best values in the middle price range. Connor Cook - FD 7600 DK 6100 This price is just too enticing to ignore. Cook wont light the world on fire, but at this price he shouldn’t crush your world either. I have somewhat of a soft spot for Cook and it seems every time I pull the trigger he disappoints. The overall QB slate isn't great for Saturday night and with some of the skilled position players available (mainly at RB) you may want to save a few hunge wherever you can. Cook looks great at times and not so great at times, but he rarely looks bad, in real life anyway. He seems to struggle against the better competition, which is also when I seem to pick him, but this is not one of those times. Now Maryland is far from bad, but they aren’t stifling on defense and Cook should be his usual self. His usual self is typically close to 300 yards passing and 2-3 touchdowns. I am more comfortable stacking the big three (Cook, Lippett, Langford) from MSU to try and capture a large portion of the production. It will be interesting to see how the Spartans respond after last week's butt whoopin. Do they play angry or do they come out defeated having lost any realistic chance of being a top 4 team? The guys that offer safety are priced beyond their normal output and/or have less than desirable matchups. Solomon is my top QB play on FanDuel and one of a few favorites on Draftkings. Solomon hasn’t been great lately with only one multi touchdown game in his last four. He did throw five TD’s in that game though and the game before his little dry spell was a five TD game as well. Richy Rod runs fast-paced tempo and even though Zona looks like a running team at times, they play bombs away quite a bit. They have talent everywhere on the offensive side of the ball and are deep too. Anu will be able to spread the ball around and keep the Buffalo defense guessing. Colorado is a great matchup for Solomon to have another five TD night. There’s always fear the talented backs from Arizona might vulture some touchdowns, but this one oozes big game sex appeal (savvy pro term). Connor Cook - FD 7300 DK 5500 This is a tough call. While I think Lippett will do just fine, his production alone won’t be enough to allow Cook to hit his number. I’m a huge a believer in Cook and he screams one of those guys that just kind of hangs under the radar, gets drafted in the 6th round and goes on to win 3 Super Bowls (overstatement).
