Sick deal.   Point Guard John Wall - FD 9000 DK 10200 DFSTR 8200 Lakers. Lakers. Lakers. You will see me lead off these columns almost all of the time with point guards against the Lakers. It's just too choice a matchup considering L.A.'s style of play and their inability to defend the position. Don't sweat Brandon Jennings' performance last night. Wall is obviously in a different league and will be a high dollar, high percentage cash game play tonight. I wouldn't call him the safest dude of all time, but I want to have exposure to this game on the Wizard side of the ball and Wall is by far the best bet here. Mo Williams - FD 5600 DK 5700 DFSTR 4000 Another guy whose price isn't there yet when we factor in just how much usage he's getting with Rubio out of the picture. Though it was mirky at first, the delineation of PG roles with Lavine around, that question is over. He's the go-to guy and delivering, getting crazy run in the T-Wolves offense and becoming a scorer and disher. This will be a super-fast game and should be up and down the court all night. He's close to Vasquez for me in terms of value and I think a bit safer than Greivous. Greivis Vasquez - FD 3900 DK 4300 DFSTR 3900 Still coming too cheap considering his new role as the starting two guard and carrying backup PG minutes as well. Vasquez basically is continuing what he was doing in backing up Lowry but is now also filling in for Derozan as well. The price hasn't caught up at all and he makes a strong value play once again. I'd be less thrilled if he was only playing the two, but considering he becomes a ball handler with Lowry off the court, this is a fantastic price with his increase in minutes.   Shooting Guard Kobe Bryant - FD 9200 DK 9400 DFSTR 7900 He's turning into a guy who just loves to pass. And it's working. Kobe didn't score a point in the first half...

Sick deal.   Point Guard Greivis Vasquez - FD 3900 DK 4300 DFSTR 3900 Price and opportunity. Price and opportunity. That's the name of the game here and Vasquez has both working for him. He drew the start in place of Derozan last game and responded with a 19/5 game. Granted that was against the Lakers and the game went to overtime. But he was set to pay before the extra run. And I think he is the best value guard on board by a long shot. I will have him in all cash games. The one concern here is you are playing a two guard in the point guard slot, but Lowry and Vasquez weren't on the court together the whole time last game. He will handle the ball plenty. Brandon Jennings - FD 7200 DK 7600 DFSTR 6300 Lakers. Lakers. Lakers. Jennings is back from the hand injury and really didn't miss a beat in his first game. He went 22/6/5 against Golden State, one of the better defensive teams in the league. The Lakers are at the opposite end of the spectrum. They are allowing a whopping 30% more scoring that league average to the opposing point guard. That number is appalling. How can we not play opposing point guards against Jeremy Lin and company? The answer is: we can't (Too many negative in those clauses? It's simple, Jennings is a great play.) Jeff Teague - FD 7100 DK 7700 DFSTR 6400 Getting point guards against the Celtics is a winning formula. Boston plays at the highest pace in the league (tied with Golden State) but unlike that squad has one of the worst Defensive Efficiencies around. That’s a fantastic spot for the opposing PG who can push the pace and make up tons of ground in volume. Teague’s been playing real well of late, and while I don’t tend to overweight recent performance if all other metrics remain the same, there is reason to suspect he continues a level of performance in such a great matchup. Consider Russell Westbrook if there's no KD and you get word he won't have a minutes restriction. And even then he's...

And now - for the next month - you can get access to our Football projection tools AND our baskeball projection tools for the same price! Sick deal.   Point Guard Michael Carter-Williams - FD 8300 DK 8000 DFSTR 6800 I like him even more if Wroten is out tonight. As we saw the other night (when he was a top play in the system and I basically ignored it) when Wroten isn’t in the game MCW becomes the focal point and creator on offense. He was a revelation against the Mavericks the other night, doing little bits of everything as the Sixers hung in the game on his way to a triple double. A much better fantasy player than real player, Carter-Williams can have games where it seems like there are two of him on the court. Watching the game against the Mavs, multiple times he grabbed rebounds and then ran the court to either dish for an assist or take it to the hole himself. I’m less worried about the blowout reducing Sixers’ minutes and think he has a high floor considering his contributions across the stat line. Tony Parker - FD 6600 DK 7200 DFSTR 6600 Look, our system loves him tonight and rightfully so. The matchup is choice, the pace will be quick and he's playing well of late (that last point isn't factored into our projections, it's just nice to know). Of course the issue will be, as it will for all Spurs, is whether he sees a full run. The Spurs could dismantle the Sixers early and that will be the end of Tony. The only reason I'm encouraged about playing him is the price. In a situation where the Spurs are boat-racing Philly Parker probably doesn't need to see a full thirty-five minutes to approach value. He's coming rather cheap. Update: Parker is sitting tonight. If Cory Joseph is starting he makes the punt play extraordinaire at the minimums Consider Mo Williams though with him the blowout is a problem going the other way.   Shooting Guard Danny Green - FD 4700 DK 5000 DFSTR 4500 Manu Ginobili - FD 5200 DK 4900 DFSTR 5500 Always such a tough call with the Spurs, even on short nights. There’s of course a decent shot neither see the requisite amount of minutes....

And now - for the next month - you can get access to our Football projection tools AND our baskeball projection tools for the same price! Sick deal. Because this is such a huge slate, I'll be giving a few more names with a bit less of a writeup.   Point Guard Kyle Lowry - FD 8500 DK 8400 DFSTR 7100 Whenever the Lakers take the court, you want to have exposure going the other way. This is the perfect example. When an efficient (but slow) Raptor team faces a fast-paced and defensively challenged team like the Lakers, getting your hands on the guy controlling the ball is a top priority. There have been plenty of point guard punt plays of late, meaning we haven’t had to pay up too much for the spot. But this is a safety situation. Lowry should see plenty of volume in this one (especially with Derozan out) and if the game can just stay out of total blowout zone heading into the fourth then I have very little doubt that he hits value. Greivis Vasquez - FD 3700 DK 3500 DFSTR 3900 If you think the fallout from the Derozan injury cascades down to more opportunity for the rest of the guards, then Vasquez is a pretty great play at this price. Seeing in the mid 20's in minutes over the last few has him pretty productive and I honestly think there is a case, on a small slate, to start both he and Lowry at PG tonight. Mo Williams - FD 5500 DK 4800 DFSTR 4000 He turned in a monster against the Lakers the other night. I don't expect a repeat performance necessarily, but a double/double points and assists game isn't out of the question against a team in Portland that's well below average in defending the point guard position. Williams is a great low-end option with starters minutes seemingly locked in.   Shooting Guard Lou Williams - FD 4900 DK 5000 Stands to see a ton of run now that Derozan is on the shelf. Williams has been one of the better fantasy-points-per-minute guys in the NBA this season and if he cracks the starting lineup or just sees more run because of Derozan's absence then you are basically looking at a must start based on his...

Because this is such a huge slate, I'll be giving a few more names with a bit less of a writeup.   Point Guard Going to be a bunch of question marks leading into lineup lock on this position. But I think there is a good chance you’ll be able to go cheap here almost regardless. Things to keep an eye on: D.J. Augustin - FD 4100 DK 4400 DFSTR 4400 If he’s playing again for Jennings then I think you can easily slot him in as a safe play. He's locked into the minutes and while he probably doesn't have crazy huge upside, this price is more than safe considering the opportunity. He's can score as much as an average point guard and gets enough assists to keep the floor at a decent range even in an off shooting night. Ramon Sessions - FD 4300 DK 4700 DFSTR 3400 He was a death train the other night, coming out of the gate with three turnovers and struggling to get anything going. But if he’s starting at the point because Collison can’t come back then don’t let the recency-bias nip you in the butt. Donald Sloan - FD 5600 DK 5200 DFSTR 5700 Oof. It doesn’t feel good, but he has huge upside games in him. Has some stinkers as well. Zach LaVine - FD 4100 DK 4200 DFSTR 3300 Mo Williams - FD 5500 DK 4700 DFSTR 4100 I think I’d be fine throwing out either guy who is starting for the T-Wolves. Neither will win you a GPP but if they are paying the major minutes at the one against the Lakers then I think the floor is built in. If for some reason these fill-ins don't work out you can play Reggie Jackson and Jrue Holiday   Shooting Guard Tyreke Evans - FD 7500 DK 7000 DFSTR 7400 With Eric Gordon on the shelf and the Pelicans throwing out human traffic cone Darius Miller at the small forward, Tyreke stands to continue seeing a bump in usage going forward. He is prone to some rough shooting so you might have to take your lumps with...
