Point Guard Jarrett Jack - FD 4900 DK 5000 DFSTR 4400 This is if and only if Deron Williams sits again. I am putting Jack at the top of the list though because if he's starting PG then you basically have to play him at these prices. In his last two games playing big minutes with Williams out Jack has averaged 14/4/6. That's way more than enough to make him a must play as our system already likes the guy on his per minutes production. Check in closer to game time on Deron's health status. Russell Westbrook - FD 11200 DK 11900 DFSTR 8200 He falls into much the same category as Jack (didn't think you'd see that comparison between Jarrett and Russell did you?) but Westbrook's top end value is very much tied to the health of Durant. This is to say, if Durant is out it's Russell time. His usage rate is off the charts when he's the first, second and third option for the Thunder. Mo Williams - FD 5500 DK 4700 DFSTR 4900 He's back to playing the big minutes from the point as the Timberwolves seem done easing him back into the fold. Williams' price is about where it was pre-injury and he was a bargain then. We were only waiting for him to have the full run taken back from Lavine. Kyrie and the Cavs often make a good matchup for opposing point guards. The only question is whether the T-Wolves can keep it close. Williams isn't the best point guard in the world, but this play is all about the price. Stephen Curry - FD 10500 DK 10900 DFSTR 8600 If Westbrook isn't in the cards because of Durant's return, you've got Steph. I don't need to go through the explanation here unless this is your first NBA rodeo. The Lakers allow a crazy 20% more than league average scoring to opposing point guards. And Steph is Steph. He's playing at a crazy high level over the short term after a run of inconsistency at the beginning of the year. I love the matchup and...

It's a weird night. Lots of great defenses, and not a lot of great values. We're going to be scrapping out Ws tonight, and it wouldn't surprise me to see some winning GPPs in the very low 300s or high 200s on FanDuel. It's that kind of night. So, let's get to it. Patrick Beverley - FD 5600 DK 5500 DFSTR 5000 Beverley saw a noticeable dip in basically every category in Dwight's first game back, but we're obviously on a pretty short sample size here. So why Beverley in this game? It mostly comes to the fact that there aren't a lot of great match-ups tonight, and he's got one of them. The Pelicans have allowed 6% more points scoring than league average to point guards, and in terms of overall fantasy points, they have allowed the 7th most. Even with a decline in usage, Beverley is a favorite for the highest points per dollar game from a PG today. Russell Westbrook - FD 10800 DK 11700 DFSTR 8200 Around DFSR headquarters, we've been calling Westbrook the Cheat Code. Dude is just 2 steps faster than anyone on the court at the present moment. With 3 straight 50 point fantasy games and just 1 game under 40 fantasy points this season, Westbrook is the safest big money player alive at this moment in time. This will be his test, though. Golden State has defended PGs terrifically this year, and Steph's much improved footwork is making a difference. But if the Warriors' rim protector is out, I don't see how they'll do anything to impede this freight train. Jose Calderon - FD 5100 DK 4500 DFSTR 4100 This is more of a GPP play, I suppose, but I really like Calderon's upside tonight. Let's be real: the Dallas game was a little weird. Calderon's minutes were jerked all over the place and the Knicks were down 19-7 before I got back from the bathroom. But there is a lot to like about Calderon, too. First of all, he's playing a ton of minutes...

Quick note: There are many, many injury situations that are going to skew things a bit going in. So many guys are game time decisions and whether they play will cascade decisions all the way down. I'm going to do my best here to highlight some of the decisions, but monitoring news up to lineup lock will be particularly important tonight. Point Guard Russell Westbrook - FD 10100 DK 11000 DFSTR 8200 Even though Durant may soon be in line for a minutes bump which will hurt Westbrook's top end value, the fact remains that few other players in the league can score as many fantasy points in as little a time as Westbrook. Case in point: he put up 50 fantasy points (FD) in 27 freaking minutes against the Suns last time out. That's an astounding number and there simply aren't many players who can do it. He has a number of components to his game, but one of them that allows him to pile up points is that for a point guard he actually rebounds well and subsequently begins his own fast break. This is invaluable and he controls so much of the action. The Kings aren't bad against opposing point guards, but Westbrook isn't your average one. If Davis doesn't play Westbrook is out system's top overall point scorer and for the money he's the best top end value. Zach LaVine - FD 5100 DK 5200 DFSTR 3700 Here's to hoping Mo Williams sits out again. Point guard is a very dicey situation after Russell and I'll happily slot in Lavine at the point if he is going to see close to forty minutes of run. That he does very little with the time he spends on the court is concerning, but his price is so low relative to the minutes that I'm willing to wing and prayer it if he's just going to handle the ball the whole time. Not a great matchup, but again, point guard is fraught with peril tonight. Trey Burke - FD 5700 DK 5400 DFSTR 5200 Woof. See what I mean? He's more...

Draftster has a ton of cool stuff going on including the a whole host of Freerolls. Quarterback Colt McCoy-$3000 Not going to be a guy you see topping a ton of quarterback value lists but this explanation is incredibly simple. He is the starting quarterback coming in at the absolute minimum on Draftster. Case close. He’s the best points per dollar player in the system and it isn’t even close. Reminder, this doesn’t mean he is the favorite to score the most raw points out of the position. Not by a long shot. But the deal you are getting to play the starting QB really for any team coming this cheap is something you really can’t pass up. Honestly, it makes me want to get more money in Draftster than usual. This is one of those rare opportunities to have a crazy advantage over anyone other squad that doesn’t have him. Those teams are -EV right from Jump Street. I’m not even going to recommend another quarterback play. It doesn’t make sense. He throws one touchdown and you’ve basically made your money on the guy. Running Backs Rashad Jennings-$5100 If the reports are to be believed and the Giants plan on bringing him more into the fold this week through the run, then you are getting a crazy great deal on Jennings. Washington is a fairly stout run defense, ranking in the top ten of the league. But one way I see this game playing out is the Giants being able to stop the crappy Washington “offense” and controlling the ball for a better portion of the game. I don’t think that’s totally wishful thinking either considering Washington’s...

Now go get that deposit bonus. Passing Touchdowns There are a number of quality quarterback options to choose from this week in this format. I really couldn’t fault on using a handful of guys. This is where you undoubtedly will see the most separation. Peyton Manning Fairly obvious play here. He’s thrown for at least three touchdowns in six of his last seven games. Though not the biggest line of the day, this game does project to be high scoring. One issue with Manning I will say is that the Chargers are a solid team against the pass. Manning isn’t necessarily matchup proof, though he’s close especially in a non-salary cap format. The Broncos are happy to throw a ton no matter the situation and I think that always puts Peyton in play. They are also among the highest in the league at throwing in the red zone. That’s just the stat we need to pile on the touchdowns even in suboptimal matchups. Drew Brees The bad news first: He and the Saints were just terrible last week against the Bengals. Let’s get that part out of the way. They got smoked in a true headscratcher of a performance. Personally, I think it’s an outlier in terms of Brees’ production as he’s been insanely accurate over the course of the season. A great cure for the hangover of a bad offensive game is the Bears’ defense. They get rained on through the air and are allowing the third worse net yards through the air per game. I do wish this game was in the dome instead of outside in Chicago at night. That actually could be a real thing that hampers the Saints. But otherwise, an accurate quarterback facing a porous secondary is just the right kind of scenario. All-Purpose Yards Le’Veon Bell Going to be a very popular play this week and with...
