Now go win that Tesla!   Total Bases Freddie Freeman Colby Lewis has allowed a ridiculous .387 wOBA to opposing lefties this year, and Freddie Freeman is not your run of the mill opposing lefty. In the Texas heat, Freeman and the Braves are fixing to have a huge outing against him, and Freeman is as big a threat as anyone to put a huge night up. Miguel Cabrera With 5 homers and a .432 batting average in September, it's going to take a lot more than Trevor Bauer to get Miguel Cabrera to shake in his boots. Bauer has actually fared worse against opposing right handers this year, but the big thing driving this ranking is the whole world's inability to get Miggy out.   Hits Jose Altuve On any given night, you're quite likely to see the Astros 2nd baseman at the top of the hit parade, and tonight is one of those nights. You see, while Altuve is a line-drive machine against everyone, he really dominates left handed pitching. Hector Santiago is pretty much a league average pitcher, which won't spook Altuve a bit. Nolan Arenado It's been a fantastic year for Arenado no matter how you cut it, but he's really shined against left handed pitching. With a .321 batting average against southpaws this year, he's been an incredibly tough out, and Marco Gonzales with his 18 Ks against 15 BBs is essentially the ideal match up. Strikeouts Clayton Kershaw No sense in belaboring the point - the Giants are a league average team in terms of how frequently they strike out, and the world's best pitcher has struck out a staggering 210 batters in 177 innings pitched this year. Just take him. Jon Lester With a K an inning and a history of going deep into games, Lester makes an attractive Ks play on many nights. In this tilt, he'll also have a great park and a team stacked with lefties on his...

You will be able to spend on bats for sure considering the universally low salaries across the pitching category. Teheran is the most expensive but is also in a solid spot against the Rangers who rank in the bottom third of the league in team wOBA against righties. They don't strike out as much as I'd like but really can't hit either so there is some evening out. Teheran's had a rougher go of it lately and has been having a tough time striking batters out. Though I'm loathe to just recommend the higest salary guy, and I do recognize some of his shortcomings, I'm still fine with playing him as the win expectation should be there against a weaker squad. Consider Jeremy Hellickson but I probably won't go there Late Tyson Ross - FD 8900 DK 9800 DD 18250 DFSTR 7900 Ross isn't a great pitcher, but he's been damn good this season. I wish he was pitching at home of course, but there are a lot of things I want that I can't have (yet). His 3.11 xFIP and close to nine K/9 play well against a Diamondback team that ranks 24th in the league against righty pitching. If Ross can limit the walks even a little bit he's in line for a big night. Jered Weaver - FD 7600 DK 7600 DD 15000 DFSTR 6400 Personally I think he's fading big time as a pitcher, but sometimes matchup and price make for a play in spit of what's happening in comparison...

Now go win that Tesla!   Total Bases Jose Abreu I know the dude has run great on Hr/FB% for his his "rookie" season but even accounting for that unsustainable number he still rates out pretty great against lefty pitching. As long as he's facing Darnell in a great hitter's park like U.S. Cellular there aren't many other players who you can expect to cover your total bases top spot in one swing. Matt Holliday Holliday's spent the better part of this season tuning up lefty pitching with an OPS over .900 and a general disregard for these helpless southpaws. Jorge de la Rosa may just be another notch in his belt today. The latter can't get righties out with any consistency and Holliday isn't showing those signs of aging we were worried about early season.   Hits Andrew McCutchen I wish the ballpark was just a little better and PNC Park isn't exactly a power haven. That being said, McCutchen crushes lefty pitching this season and for his career. He's rocking a .911 OPS and that's with a .257 Babip on the lefty platoon. Meaning he kills guys like Felix Doubront. I'm buying all day on this guy. Yadier Molina I see this as kind of a sneaky play along the margins that can get you a little separation. That idea is important in a format like ScoreStreak where the final scores can bunch together. Molina has a solid contact rate against lefties and doesn't walk much. I like his chances of getting the bat on the ball against de la Rosa and would definitely pair him together with Holliday. Strikeouts Felix Hernandez I wouldn't go any higher than seven strikeouts for King Felix today and even that seems a little like pushing it for me. I just don't think the upside is there for him against the A's. Oakland strikes out less than 18% of the time against righties. That being said, there are so very...

Last time Cole faced them, he mowed them down for 8 Ks and a win. I'm going to need to see more from Wada to feel like he's any deterrent whatsoever.   Catchers Evan Gattis - FD 2600 DK 3900 DD 8250 DFSTR 4000 If you’ve followed us at DFSR for any period of time, you’ll know that Evan Gattis has tortured left handed pitching like a super-duper-uber-star this season. With a 1.044 OPS, he should give Derek Holland everything he can handle. I know Holland has had a nice 2 starts this year, but in that Texas heat, I think Gattis could really get a hold of one. Brian McCann - FD 3200 DK 3800 DD 8350 DFSTR 10000 Welp, if you've stuck with daily fantasy baseball into football season, and followed our picks, you've finally gotten paid off for playing Brian McCann! With 3 homers in September, he's finally lived up to what our projection system has thought of him. Bud Norris is essentially league average at this point, and it could be a decent day for the lefty-heavy Yanks. Yadier Molina - FD 2500 DK 3500 DD 7700 DFSTR 3000 In the cheap with low upside category, I submit Yadier Molina. The major factor here, of course, is Jorge De La Rosa. He's been solidly below average this season, and he's actually been worse on the road. Molina essentially makes a nice pseudo punt play - get the money in cheap, and hope...

Now go win that Tesla!   Total Bases Edwin Encarnacion Welcome to the league, Nate Karns! You have the opportunity to face Edwin Encarnacion, who has turned right handed pitching into essentially pinata offerings all season long. With all due respect to Nate Karns, who I am sure is a nice guy, he had a 7.5 and 5.08 ERA in AAA this year. This won't be pleasant for him. Evan Gattis If you've followed us at DFSR for any period of time, you'll know that Evan Gattis has tortured left handed pitching like a super-duper-uber-star this season. With a 1.044 OPS, he should give Derek Holland everything he can handle. I know Holland has had a nice 2 starts this year, but in that Texas heat, I think Gattis could really get a hold of one.   Hits Jose Reyes Jose Altuve I'm going Joses in the hits category today. The case for Reyes is essentially the same as the case for Encarnacion - I'm just having trouble picturing Karns getting any outs today. The case for Altuve is similarly easy - the guy never walks, rarely strikes out, and has a sustainably high BABIP. Try as he might, Wilson hasn't totally gotten it together this year, and Altuve won't need much of a chance to put some hard hit balls in play.   Strikeouts Gio Gonzalez With a strikeout per inning this year, Gio is one of the top strikeout talents going today. The real charm of the selection, however, is in his opponent. With a sub .300 wOBA and the league's 11th worst strikeout rate, the Mets are generous with allowing pitchers to go deep and rack up nice K days. Cole Hamels Hamels is simply having a terrific year, and with a K rate similar to Gio's, he's an excellent bet on any given day to compile a nice strikeout total. On this fine day he draws the Miami Marlins, who own the league's 3rd...
