Pitchers Lance McCullers FD 8900 DK Opponent - KC (Karns) Park - @HOUFD - 35.8 DK - 0 The Astros finish out their weekend set with the Royals today sending Lance McCullers out there to try and salvage a win out of the series. McCullers had a roller coaster spring, but got the regular season off to a very good start with a win over the Mariners on Tuesday. In six strong innings, he allowed only 1 earned run in 5 hits and 2 walks while also picking up 7 K's. Kansas City will be throwing Nate Karns, who probably shouldn't even be pitching for a Major League team, but he is. So the 'Stros should be able to muster enough run support to get McCullers the win. As long as he is able to duplicate his first start, while building on the number of K's he could pay dividends, while coming in at a price that allows you to fit some pricier bats in as well. Carlos Martinez FD 9200 DK Opponent - CIN (Feldman) Park - @STLFD - 35.72 DK - 23.4 Carlos Martinez takes the hill for the Cardinals today, against the Reds in St. Louis. Martinez was phenomenal in the season opener on Sunday against the Cubs picking up where he left off in 2016. in 7.1 innings, CMart held the Cubs high powered offense scoreless on 6 hits, walking none and fanning 10. The only detraction was that he didn't get the win due to his closer not being able to hold the lead in the ninth. Last year Martinez ended the season with a .818 WHIP and 12.3 K's per 9. The Reds are only striking out 19.4% of the time to start the season, but they're also only scoring 3.5 runs per game. I'd be willing to roll Martinez out in cash or tournament contests. Noah Syndergaard FD 11100 DK Opponent - MIA (Volquez) Park - @NYMFD - 38.6 DK - 25.27 We finish out here with Thor. Noah Syndergaard comes in as a risk/reward type of play, following him leaving his opening day...

We've got you completely covered. Pitchers Lance McCullers FD 8800 DK 9500 Opponent - SEA (Iwakuma) Park - @HOU FD - 33.47 DK - 22.11 It's an interesting eight-game slate tonight, with no shortage of pitching options across the spectrum. That makes it tough to gauge which way the market will turn in tourneys, especially this early in the season. But forced to guess, I think we'll be seeing high ownership percentages on McCullers tonight. If that emboldens you to play the fade, have at it. Just be aware of the upside you'll be passing up. We're only 36 starts into McCullers' career, and he's already shown stuff that surpasses anything in his prospect scouting reports. Through 200-plus innings, he's striking out better than 10 per 9, giving up just .65 HRs/9, and coaxing a 50 percent groundball rate. He checks just about every box you're looking for ... except one. Control. The 23-year-old has yet to master his command and averaged 5 BBs/9 in 14 starts last season. That's where the risk comes in, because if he can't find his spots, all that K upside is effectively neutered. But winning tournament lineups always include some level of risk, and considering the ceiling, McCullers is a fine place to take chance tonight. Sean Manaea FD 6800 DK 7400 Opponent - LAA (Shoemaker) Park - @OAK FD - 29.01 DK - 19.11 If you've got your eye on some high-priced bats that won't fit in easily with McCullers' salary, you could do a lot worse than Manaea when shopping in the bargain bins. The 25-year-old lefty has a solid prospect pedigree and held his own as a rookie last season, putting up a 3.96 xFIP in 25 games. He really started to find his stride after a tumultuous start, dropping the xFIP to 3.56 with 8Ks/9 in the second half. He stands a good chance to improve on those numbers this year, and he'll be at home in one of the majors' best parks for suppressing offense tonight. The Angels will probably be rolling out a bunch of righties against him, and their lineup isn't as bad as...

We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good. Pitching Targets Note: We discussed Jon Lester and Christian Friedrich in the Main Article. And will be going over a few more options below. Steven Matz FD 9700 DK 10400 Opponent - PIT (Niese) Park - @PITFD - 33.57 DK - 17.99 Jon Lester is the clear-cut top option going up against the Phillies, but the next best option is Steven Matz! Matz will be going up against the Pirates, which isn't the best of matchups, but there aren't a ton of great options on the slate and he is the next best pitcher. On the year, Matz is sporting a 2.60 ERA that is backed up by a 2.85 FIP. This kid has been excellent for the Mets, so don't worry too much about a matchup against the Pirates. He also has upside as he owns a 24.1 K% and the Pirates own a 23.8 K% (6th in MLB) against left-handed pitching. While Lester is the top pitching option, you can't go wrong with Matz for tournaments or as a SP2 option if you can find some nice value...

We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! Pitching Targets Note: We discussed Clayton Kershaw, Chris Sale, Nathan Eovaldi and Taijuan Walker in the picks article for today. And will be going over a few more options below. Julio Teheran FD 8500 DK 9900 Opponent - MIA (Koehler) Park - @ATLFD - 33.12 DK - 18.09 Teheran was put on Earth primarily to give me nightmares in the keeper league where I've had him since he was literally 17 years old. But! There are signs of life this season. The Ks are up, the BBs are down, and his 3.45 FIP is around where it was during his solid 2014 campaign. It's been 15 innings since his last walk allowed, and he struck out 12 in 7 innings against the Brewers in his last game out there. Oh, I didn't mention that he'll be facing one of the league's true bums in Tom Koehler, whose 5.14 xFIP would be good for 5th worst in the league if he could have managed to stay on the mound for enough innings to qualify. So, all roses? Not exactly. The Braves are still dogs in this game because they are just awful, having plated the fewest runs in the majors. And the Marlins, for all of their flaws, are not bad against right handed pitching. Teheran has electric upside here if things break right, but they could of course go wrong as well. Still, he's a phenomenal tournament option. Jimmy Nelson FD 7600 DK 9400 Opponent - CIN (Finnegan) Park - @MILFD - 32.5 DK - 18.1 So let's get one thing straight...

Pitcher Matt Harvey - FD 9900 DK 9300 DFSTR 3100 Harvey is the de facto ace of the slate tonight, and he also happens to be the one with the best match-up as well. The Phils were 27th in the league against right handers last year (with a putrid .294 wOBA), and Buchanan is no great shakes as a starter. Harvey was also fantastic against a much better lineup his last time out - going 6 innings with 9 Ks and a BB. And then there's Citi Field - one of the friendliest places for pitchers to pitch in the majors. On a day with only a few bigger money pitchers going, this is looking like the easiest play on the board. Hisashi Iwakuma - FD 8500 DK 9100 DFSTR 3100 The Dodgers were one of the best teams in the league at hitting right handed pitching, but with the departure of a few key bats, I'm not liking their chances to repeat that title this year. And Iwakuma has a few other things going for him here. First - David Huff pitching for the home team means that Iwakuma should have an elevated chance for the win. Next, Dodger stadium is one of the best pitchers' parks in the league. All and all, this looks like a very safe way to go if you don't want to follow the crowd with Harvey. Trevor Cahill - FD 6600 DK 5300 DFSTR 3100 If you want an interesting play that may be off board tonight, consider Trevor Cahill. He's cheap, which means you'll get to spend up a ton elsewhere. He's facing the Marlins, who struck out at the second highest rate (23.3%) of any team against opposing righties last season. And he's facing Tom Koehler, the very definition of a league average-below average starter. The issue with Cahill will always be the walks - but he will have games where he stays more around the plate. If he does, his high K rate could turn this into a nice game to grab Cahill in big tournaments. Catcher Travis d'Arnaud - FD 3000 DK 3800 DFSTR 5000 D'Arnaud didn't exactly light the world on fire in his rookie campaign, but there's still a lot to like about grabbing value with him this season. First of all, his BABIP was FAR below the established levels he had in the minors. And while...
