Pitchers Adam Wainwright FD - P 9700 DK - SP 9600 Opponent - MIN (Michael Pineda) Park - STLFD - 35.4 DK - 18.54 AdamWainwright is having a little bit of a turn back the clock season this time around, striking out more batters than he ever has in his career, sporting the best xFIP (3.79) he’s seen in the last seven seasons. It is a nice story for the 39-year-old who was starting to look a bit cooked. Now he’s facing the Twins who sold some pieces off and are in rebuild mode off a younger lineup. I think he’s a solid play at these prices and the matchup is a good one. This is a rough day for pitching and we are going to have to take what we can get. Jordan Montgomery FD - P 8000 DK - SP 7400 Opponent - MIA (Undecided) Park - MIAFD - 29.73 DK - 15.51 Speaking of taking what we can get, Montgomery is a good, not great option here, but that is kind of the story with everyone on the slate. The good news is he gets a choice matchup against the lowly Marlins who rank second-to-last in the league in team wOBA and don’t have much in the way of getting better for the rest of the season. They strike out 26% of the time as a team and Montgomery is putting down about a batter an inning. When lines release for this game (they haven’t yet) he should be a big favorite. José Berríos (FD $9000 DK $8600) could end up being a big money line favorite in his first start with the Blue Jays. Kyle Gibson (FD $9000 DK $6900) is in a great spot against the lowly Pirates. Catcher/First Base Pete Alonso FD - 1B 3800 DK - 1B 5600 Opponent - CIN (Vladimir Gutierrez) Park - NYMFD - 13.68 DK - 10.16 The Mets have made some improvements to their lineup and could start causing some real damage going forward. On Sunday they get Vladimir Gutierrez who is among the worst regular starters in the game, sporting a 5.75 xFIP through 60+ innings this season with a putrid 1.5:1 K:BB ratio. Alonso hasn’t been able to recreate his rookie season numbers, but he is still a deadly hitter with a mid-800s OPS and 23 home runs in 374 plate appearances. We aren’t...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Saturday 7/31/21 - Main slate Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clickiang the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Yu Darvish FD 9600 DK 10500 Opponent - COL (German Márquez) Park - COLFD - 41.89 DK - 23.66 Darvish has the best money line odds of the main slate, facing off a against a very weak Colorado Rockies lineups outside of Coors. He is -188 at home with the lowest implied run line of the slate. Darvish has a 3.27 RA on the season, though the xFIP is about a half a run worse. Still, he’s striking out close to 10.5 batters per nine and has mostly been able to keep the walks in check. This is too good a spot to pass up o him, especially for the sub$10K price on FanDuel. Aaron Nola FD 11000 DK 9700 Opponent - PIT (JT Brubaker) Park - PITFD - 41.05 DK - 22.23 Nola is also in a great spot against the Pirates on Saturday evening with the latter bringing in the third-worst team wOBA in the majors this season. The Pirates are just a bad team all-around and Nola is a -168 road favorite in this one. Nola has an xFIP that is about a run better than his ERA and brings in great peripherals to the matchup. He is striking out close to 11 batters per nine and has a nearly 7:1 K:BB ratio. That is among the best in the majors this season. I think you can easily roll both of these arms on DraftKings too. Catcher/First Base José Abreu FD 3400 DK 5000 Opponent - CLE (Triston McKenzie) Park - CLEFD - 12.48 DK - 9.44 The White Sox are in one of the best spots on the slate facing off against Triston McKenzie on Saturday afternoon. They have the highest implied run line going here and Abreu, in the middle of the order is in a good spot against a very wild McKenzie. The former hasn’t put up quite the same power numbers this time around, but there is still some pop in the bat and he doesn’t strike out a ton. With a little patience, the White Sox should be able to get to the righty in this matchup. Max Muncy FD 3900 DK 5600 Opponent - ARI (Merrill Kelly) Park - ARIFD - 14.28 DK - 10.52 The Dodgers are another team with a higher implied run line on the day and will be without both Mookie Betts and newly...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 7/30/21

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 7/30/21 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Corbin Burnes FD - P 11200 DK - RP 10200 Opponent - ATL (Touki Toussaint) Park - ATL FD - 37.75 DK - 20.86 It is very close for me at the top tonight so I will lean on the projections which favor Burnes and by a fairly wide margin. While both have been extremely consistent all season, Burnes gives us so much more in terms of strikeouts with almost a 10% higher K rate and 4% higher swinging strike rate. The Braves are just league average(100 wRC+) against righties but they strike out 25% of time. All things considered, Burnes is my #1 pitcher in all formats. José Berríos FD - P 9000 DK - SP 8100 Opponent - STL (Wade LeBlanc) Park - STL FD - 33.96 DK - 18.42 Once again we have options at SP2 on DraftKings. You can fairly easily pair Lynn and Burnes with all the value on this full slate but if you want more room for bats, I like this spot for Berrios who has seen his price trend back down into the low $8K range. This gives him a high floor and ceiling as he has hit 2x value on DraftKings in eight of his last 10 starts and hit 3x or more in four of those. The matchup isn't at the top of my list but the Cards have been slightly worse against righties(.299 wOBA/88 wRC+) so all things considered, Berrios is my favorite mid-tier value tonight. Catcher/First Base Joey Votto FD 4200 DK 4700 Opponent - NYM (Carlos Carrasco) Park - NYM FD - 9.21 DK - 6.91 This one fits right into the "ride the hot hand" narrative as Votto has been out of this world since the All-Star break. He has now homered in six straight games and has nine in 13 since the break to go along with a .375 average. His price on FanDuel shot up to the point where we really have to contemplate using him in cash button DraftKings, he is still under $5K and will be a core play for me in all formats. Rowdy Tellez FD 2300 DK 2600 Opponent - ATL (Touki Toussaint) Park - ATL FD - 10.36 DK - 7.8 While not quite on the same level as Votto, Rowdy also comes in red-hot with hits in six straight games including four long balls, and has been a...

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Freddy Peralta FD - P 9700 DK - SP 10000 Opponent - PIT (Chad Kuhl) Park - PIT FD - 38.87 DK - 22.08 He was limited in his last start due to a prolonged break between starts but is expected back to full go on Thursday and is in a great spot. He has been extremely consistent all season holding opponents to two or fewer earned runs in 16 of 18 starts for an elite 2.29 ERA and added a ton of upside with a 35% K rate. He now faces a Pirates team that is dead last in runs scored, 27th in wOBA, and 28th in wRC+ on the season. Unless more news comes out about a limit, Peralta is my top pitcher on this main slate on both sites. Joe Musgrove FD - P 8400 DK - SP 8200 Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - SD FD - 35.86 DK - 19.44 After a shaky first start out of the ASB, Musgrove bounced back with his longest outing(6 IP) in a month and despite the low strikeout count(4) was still able to give us more than 2x and 4x returns on DraftKings and FanDuel. It has been a roller coaster ride and there are some red flags but I do like the price on this small slate given the matchup vs. the Rockies who are dead last in road offense by a wide margin. I will have exposure in all formats. Catcher/First Base Rowdy Tellez FD 2200 DK 2600 Opponent - PIT (Chad Kuhl) Park - PIT FD - 10.72 DK - 8.06 First base is a bit of a mess tonight with Vladdy in a potential rain game in Boston and my other favorite in Jonathan Schoop is likely out with back tightness after being scratched last night. As of now, I will be going the value route and riding the hot hand in Rowdy Tellez who has hits in five straight including three multi-hit efforts and three home runs. The savings makes this a great option if you are paying up for pitching like me. If you have the salary also consider: Vladimir Guerrero Jr.(TOR) if the rain goes away and the game is a full-go or Shohei Ohtani(LAA) who has heated back up with hits in five straight including three multi-hit efforts Second Base Kolten Wong FD - 2B 3000...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday 7/28/21 – Main slate

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday 7/28/21 - Main slate Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clickiang the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Zack Wheeler FD 10600 DK 10300 Opponent - WSH (Patrick Corbin) Park - PHIFD - 41.63 DK - 22.75 Wheeler has turned in a borderline Cy Young worthy season so far with a 2.74 xFIP that’s only slightly worse than the 2.37 ERA. He’s striking out more than 30% of the batters he’s faced and has a 5.3:1 K:BB ratio. The Nats have been hit with some Covid issues and Wheeler is a -202 home favorite in this one. I think he’s the chalk pitcher on the main slate and it is for good reason. He’s been awesome this season. Andrew Heaney FD 7600 DK 7400 Opponent - COL (Chi Chi González) Park - ANAFD - 34.1 DK - 18.63 Don’t let the 5.32 ERA fool you, Heaney has been much, much better than that this season. He’s been hurt some by an elevated BABIP and the 67% LOB% shows some signs of running bad. The 3.83 xFIP is more in line with his peripherals which have him striking out 10.74 batters per nine and walking only 2.86. He’s a -200 home favorite against the lowly Rockies and makes the perfect DraftKings SP2 on this slate. Catcher/First Base José Abreu FD 3600 DK 5000 Opponent - KC (Kris Bubic) Park - KCFD - 13.62 DK - 10.3 Get ready to see a lot of White Sox on this slate with them facing off against Bubic. They have, for now, the highest implied run line on the slate and for good reason. Abreu hasn’t been able to recreate his 2019 or 2020 season at the plate this time around with the power numbers dipping somewhat dramatically, but he’s still been great against lefties for his entire career. In that split, Abreu has a .922 OPS and 148 wRC+. The price is a little steep on DraftKings especially, but there is a strong case for paying up. J.T. Realmuto FD 3500 DK 4600 Opponent - WSH (Patrick Corbin) Park - PHIFD - 12.79 DK - 9.68 Patrick Corbin is now a shell of his former self and the Phillies are big-time favorites in this game. Realmuto isn’t putting up quite the same power numbers he’s had in the past, but there is still some pop in the bat and he will steal a base or two as well. He’s been basically platoon neutral for his career, so there isn’t...
