Miggy is a lefty murderer. Like really, he once committed murder against a left handed pitcher, and now they fear him, and so he hits really hard balls against them. Well, not really. But Danks is truly awful at this stage in his career, and while Miggy hasn't been MIGGY, he's still plenty of bat to put a total bases hurting on Danks. Nelson Cruz Skaggs sounds like something you could contract in Aruba after a 3 day bender, but no one will be happier to wake up to a surprise case of Skaggs than Nelson Cruz. The dude has been straight bombing this year, and should run a train on Skaggs and his utter lack of peripheral success.   Hits Ian Kinsler Read Miggy's writeup, and apply it to Kinsler. He hasn't been himself either, but it's not because he can't hit bad left handed pitchers. He's had some poor BABIP luck that shouldn't continue forever, and he'll likely be on base for the inevitable Miggy extra base hits. Starlin Castro It's hard to look at Pedro Hernandez's name and not feel the bile rise in your throat. I get it - I feel the same way. Castro has had a wonderful bounceback year, posting a wOBA that builds upon his promising early career numbers. The beauty of Castro? He couldn't care less about walking, and is pretty tough to strike out. Should be a lock for at least a hit.   Strikeouts Clayton Kershaw While the Braves are a pretty decent hitting team, they strike out a ton, and Kershaw strikes out 11 guys per 9 innings. 11! And he pitches deep into games. I just tried to imagine playing someone else in my top pitcher slot, and I literally couldn't. So yeah, start Clayton. Johnny Cueto The Marlins have had some success at the dish this year, but the beauty of Scorestreak is that we couldn't care less. We just care about the...

Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for ScoreStreak 7/27/14 Breaking News! We are offering a new bonus for first time deposits on ScoreStreak. For the next week, if you make a first time deposit to ScoreStreak through DFSR you will receive two weeks (14 days) of our Lineup Construction Tools for FanDuel and DraftKings. It's easy. Just make a first time deposit on ScoreStreak and then sign up for our Lineup Construction Tools. We will credit you the half month of our winning projections for free. You'll also receive an additional $10 to play with on ScoreStreak. If you have any questions, just email us dailyfantasysr@gmail.com or shoot us a tweet @dailyfantasysr     Total Bases Andrew McCutchen There can be only one man atop this list. McCutchen of the 1k OPS against lefties for his career against one of the very worst left handed pitchers in the very best hitters park on planet Earth. Miguel Cabrera Cabrera hasn't been CABRERA this year, but homey can still murder a left handed pitcher. Enter Hector Santiago, a converted left handed reliever who has a great deal of difficulty throwing baseballs past hitters of any stripe, much less one of the very best hitters on planet Earth.   Hits Jose Altuve Altuve is just a daily beast in the hits category. He has the lowest total walks + strikeouts of any guy you'll consider in this slot on a day to day basis. And today? Jacob Turner! There are a lot of awful pitchers going today, but Turner is undoubtedly among the very worst. He'll let Jose put it in play, and if he does, you could cash the top hits category before the third inning is over. Ian Kinsler Same story as Cabrera. Kinsler hasn't quite been himself either, but I can't imagine a guy like Santiago giving him any trouble whatsoever.   Strikeouts Adam Wainwright An easy pick for the top strikeouts slot, though I'm not sure he'll reach the 9 K plateau. I may just punt the top slot (or go for a home run with Mike Minor or something), but if I chase 9 Ks, I'll do so with Wainwright. The Cubs are the third easiest team in the league to strike out, and Wain still has put away stuff. Mike Minor Minor feels very safe to me. The Padres are just awful (regardless of their recent successes costing me thousands of dollars), which allows pitchers to go deep into games and keep racking up Ks. I think Minor is about as safe as it gets in either of the bottom 2 strike out...

You'll like it as much as we do.   Total Bases MigueL Cabrera Anthony Rizzo On a day when the aces are out in full force, our options for total bases aren't great. Miggy draws one of the best match-ups in the day in Bauer, and even though he'd prefer a lefty, he can still do a lot of damage against a guy who is as mistake prone as the Cleveland righty. One promising start from Bauer does not a season make, and this could be a long one for him. Rizzo makes an intriguing play today because of his opposition as well. Cahill has been pretty much horrendous this year, with 45 Ks against 24 BBs in 41 IP and an ERA in the 5s. A great lefty/righty spot for Rizzo as well.   Hits Andrew McCutchen Jose Altuve McCutchen gets the one true dream spot of the day, and you can make a case for him in total bases or hits. Even away from Colorado, De La Rosa has been a mess this year. 73 Ks and 45 BBs in 104 IP can't all be Colorado's fault. McCutchen is one of the very best hitters in the game against left handed pitching already, so De La Rosa's lack of skill will only make it easier on him. Altuve, our other play today, is another no brainer. He's batting over .400 against lefties this year, and he never walks. Quintana has been fine this year, but Altuve is just a hit machine against southpaws.   Strike Outs Yu Darvish What do you need to say about taking Darvish first overall? The match-up kind of sucks here, but Darvish is a man among boys in the strike out department. Really, the match-up is...

You'll like it as much as we do.   Total Bases Troy Tulowitzki Mike Trout Tulo seems to be atop our total base projections every single day when he's hitting at home, and the system likes him today for good reason. Hughes is a fly ball pitcher who relies on good breaking stuff, and Coors Field is less than kind to pitchers with either of those attributes, much less both. Trout is simply a young Adonis who can hit anyone, who now has the opportunity to face the pitch-to-contact Scott Baker. 32 Ks and 9 walks in 54 innings means Baker is going to allow guys to put balls in play, which makes Trout a must start at either the top of the hits or total bases categories.   Hits David Wright Ian Kinsler On the surface, these look like two pretty similar plays. Right handed hitters who crush left handed pitching with the opportunity to face a pretty poor left hander. Ian Kinsler has the more attractive year to date performance, but Wright has a bit going for him as well. Brad Hand is a considerably worse pitcher than Bruce Chen (somehow!), and Wright has actually amassed a batting average over .400 against left handers this year - it's those pesky righties that have been giving him fits. All in all, both of these guys will top my list in the hits category and I won't lose a bit of sleep over it.   Strike Outs Francisco Liriano It's tough to match the strikeout upside of Liriano, who Ks more than a guy per inning and has the opportunity to face the Reds, who trot out guys that are hopeless against left handed pitching like Billy Hamilton and Jay Bruce. I'm not...

You'll like it as much as we do.   Total Bases Mike Trout Trout doesn't care about your handedness, or the park he plays in, or the phase of the moon, or really anything. The dude just crushes. The only nit you can pick in taking Trout in your top spot for total bases is that McHugh is a strike out guy, but I'll counter your nit-picking by pointing out that McHugh misses his spots frequently, and Trout is a man who can handle a mistake. Even if you don't put him in your top slot, I think it'd be a crime to not slot Trout in somewhere in the hits/total bases categories. Not exactly a bold prediction or anything, but there you have it. Giancarlo Stanton Stanton is an underrated power hitter. I kid. But not a lot of people are probably aware of just how badly he is crushing lefties this season. And he's crushing all lefties.. from the most elite Ace southpaws to pitchers like Marco Gonzales. And wait a second - he's actually facing MARCO FREAKING GONZALES today! If ever there were a favorite to hit a home run in a game, it'd have to be here. Hard to imagine Stanton and his .503 wOBA vs. lefties this season not being a nearly universal play.   Hits Robinson Cano Hopefully you stuck with Robinson Cano through his tough times - if you did, you've gotten paid in the hits category pretty much every night for the last week. This is an ideal match-up for Cano. A terrible pitcher in a great hitter's park, and a right hander to boot! Cano will be at the top of all of my hits lists tonight. Daniel Murphy A couple of off nights...
