Sale is just that. With nearly 10 strikeouts per 9 innings and a 1.55 BB/9 rate, Sale stands to have a huge outing against Logan Darnell and the mediocre Twins. Danny Salazar - FD 7300 DK 7000 DD 13500 SS 17600 Hot damn, I'm out on a limb again. Listen, I get that the 4.97 ERA is an eyesore, but Salazar is as capable of a huge game as anyone. The K rate is phenomenal, and the match-up against Jerome Williams actually gives him a pretty high floor in this game as well. If there are a bunch of expensive hitters who capture your fancy today, you could do a lot worse than running a few Danny Salazar lineups. We will. Mike Minor - FD 6800 DK 7200 DD 12250 SS 20700 Minor has been wildly unlucky this year - posting an ERA over 5 but an xFIP of 3.64. The K rate is great, the BB rate is reasonable, and the match-up is to die for. The Dads are the 3rd easiest team in the league to strike out, and have the worst wOBA of any team by a country mile. And Eric Stults is a great guy to go up against. Terrific upside here. Also considered: Dan Haren, Mat Latos   Catchers Mike Zunino - FD 2800 DK 3200 DD 7700 SS 5400 With 3 home runs in his last 4 games, Zunino has been fulfilling the promise suggested by our projection system this whole season. The upside is considerable - Zunino has a wOBA of .352 vs. left handed pitching in his short career - and you don't have to pay a whole lot for the opportunity to take him against the mediocre Chen. Buster Posey - FD 3400 DK 4400 DD 9700 SS 7400 While he hasn't put up the Herculean numbers of...

Pitchers Alex Wood - FD 7700 DK 7700 DD 14650 SS 23000 Congratulations to Alex Wood, the winner of the daily "Who gets to pitch against the Padres?" sweepstakes. The Dads are the very worst team in the league in wOBA, are one of the top 5 in the league in terms of most strike outs, and just traded away their best hitter. Wood has been very solid this season in his own right - featuring around a K per inning and showing pretty good control as well. All in all, he seems like the clear start of the day. Note - you could also make a case for Jesse Hahn strictly in terms of upside. The price is right, and the Braves are pretty K happy. Zack Greinke - FD 9400 DK 9800 DD 18250 SS 27900 I'm going to go against the grain today and not recommend either Felix or David Price. Neither has a dynamite match-up, and while they are both capable of a great night, I'd prefer to spend more on hitting and go for Greinke. It's another time where you could make a case for Greinke or Lincecum, but I'm going with the Zack attack on the basis that he simply has a lower floor on any given day. The Giants' best hitters all hit from the right side of the plate, and the park is right tonight for Greinke to put up a big night. Zack Wheeler - FD 7300 DK 7800 DD 13500 SS 23200 I'm sticking with Zacks who spell their names with a K for my 2nd and 3rd slots tonight. The Brewers have a fairly solid offense, but like the Giants, their best hitters are righties. Gallardo isn't the pitcher he once was, with reduced Ks and a similar amount of walks, and Wheeler should be in a nice position for a win as well. Also considered: Jesse Hahn, Wade Miley   Catchers Miguel Montero - FD 2800 DK 3900 DD 8300 SS 6400 It's a less than ideal day in the catcher department, with a lot of big names facing either tough pitchers...

If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out.   Pitchers Stephen Strasburg - FD 6700 DK 7800 DD 11850 SS 19900 The Rockies are a tough team to evaluate. At home, they are obviously world beaters because of the ballpark. But you put this squad on the road and all of a sudden they drop down to 22nd in the league in team OPS with a 22% strike out rate. That’s a huge dip that points starkly to Mile High bolstering the overall numbers. We know this of course about the park but I just wanted to point out that the Rockies can be targeted when on the road. Liriano is just such an opportunity if you are chasing cheap upside.   Catchers Brian McCann - FD 2800 DK 3700 DD 7200 SS 5000 Might as well start off the second half right we left off in the first half. By recommending McCann. This has to be the guy I’ve written the most about this season. I feel like I know the guy personally. Or at least his struggles. Dude’s Babip remains low as does the HR/FB%. I’m expecting a big second half from the guy and what a great way to start but against Mike Leake, a guy susceptible to the home run, playing in Yankee Stadium. Let’s go Brian. I have faith my brother. Miguel Montero - FD 3000 DK 3900 DD 8250 SS 6500 He’s having a solid season against righties (he is horrific against lefties) with an .864 OPS and 136 wRC+. Montero is buoyed by the ballpark in Chase Field that’s among the best hitter’s homes in all of baseball. Edwin Jackson has strikeout potential but he also can get absolutely shelled on the right night. This is a tough spot for the guy in this ballpark where the margins are super thin. Wilin Rosario - FD 3300 DK 4200 DD 7800 SS 6600 I’d like it so much better if the game were at home obviously. But we can consider Rosario...

We're also trying a new format called Scorestreak - it's a much more accessible game than the traditional salary cap format, and people who sign up through DFSR get a few free bucks. If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out.   Pitchers Adam Wainwright FanDuel 10900 DraftKings 12600 DraftStreet 24184 Not as good as the 1.67 ERA would suggest, but pretty damned good, Waino is the top pitching play tonight from a safety standpoint. On a night in which some good arms are going, he draws the best matchup of the top group. The Giants rank around the middle of the league in wOBA against righties and strike out about 23% of the time. Wainwright's safety is in his refusal to walk anyone. He allows his share of hits, and is susceptible to the blowup, but I don't see it happening tonight. He comes at a steep price, but you are paying for his strikeout numbers and limited downside. David Price FanDuel 9200 DraftKings 10100 DraftStreet 18889 I still very much believe. His xFIP is trailing the ERA by nearly 1.5 runs. The Babip is 50 points higher than his career average. the HR/FB is way out of line with his career averages. And the Red Sox actually rank near the bottom of the league in K% against lefties. I'm still buying him. Don't love that it's in Fenway. But the top tier pitchers all have question marks tonight. Francisco Liriano FanDuel 6900 DraftKings 6200 DraftStreet 13910 Ok, let's parse this out. Frankie L. is by no means a safe play. He walks way,way too many guys to consider in a cash game format. But there's some good news about him today. First, his price is crazy low in some spots, reflective of his 5+ ERA. But the xFIP is a full run and a half lower. He's struggling a little with guys on base and really getting killed on the HR/FB rate. If both of those start trending toward his career averages, we are in business. Plus the Dodgers are sneaky bad against lefties. Like strike out 23% of the time bad. Bottom third of the league bad. Liriano strikes out enough guys to more than justify the prices he's...
