You will be able to spend on bats for sure considering the universally low salaries across the pitching category. Teheran is the most expensive but is also in a solid spot against the Rangers who rank in the bottom third of the league in team wOBA against righties. They don't strike out as much as I'd like but really can't hit either so there is some evening out. Teheran's had a rougher go of it lately and has been having a tough time striking batters out. Though I'm loathe to just recommend the higest salary guy, and I do recognize some of his shortcomings, I'm still fine with playing him as the win expectation should be there against a weaker squad. Consider Jeremy Hellickson but I probably won't go there Late Tyson Ross - FD 8900 DK 9800 DD 18250 DFSTR 7900 Ross isn't a great pitcher, but he's been damn good this season. I wish he was pitching at home of course, but there are a lot of things I want that I can't have (yet). His 3.11 xFIP and close to nine K/9 play well against a Diamondback team that ranks 24th in the league against righty pitching. If Ross can limit the walks even a little bit he's in line for a big night. Jered Weaver - FD 7600 DK 7600 DD 15000 DFSTR 6400 Personally I think he's fading big time as a pitcher, but sometimes matchup and price make for a play in spit of what's happening in comparison...

And try out our partner exclusive ScoreStreak picks. Pitchers Early Slate Corey Kluber - FD 7900 DK 9600 DD 14950 DFSTR 7700 The strikeout upside is always there for this guy. He showed it last game when he fanned nine Cubs over eight innings. The Phillies don't strike out as much as the Cubs, but they are a much worse hitting team against lefty pitching, rating in the bottom third of the league in team wOBA against southpaws. I think Liriano has that GPP upside you're looking for but I wouldn't roster him in cash games. Consider Cory Rasmus coming cheap Catchers Early Slate Miguel Montero - FD 2200 DK 3100 DD 7550 DFSTR 3200 You'll see that with so many stud arms going on such a short slate, the offensive options for the early slate are tough. Montero has been decent against righties this season with a .764 OPS (fine enough for a catcher) and faces the very average Jake Peavy. The problem with stacking any D-Backs today is that there are so few of them worth warranting a mention. Montero is one of the few. Derek Norris - FD 2600 DK 3600 DD 7400 DFSTR 5000 Of course playing him against Sale seems like suicide. But you'll need to run someone out in the early slate and Norris hits lefties well. Again, with so many power arms going, avoiding them completely is tough. Our system accounts for Sale's successes and still has Norris as a somewhat acceptable option. Late Slate Jonathan Lucroy - FD 2900 DK 4300 DD 9200 DFSTR 6200 Lucroy is still coming so, so cheap on FanDuel. For his success this year against righties (.369 wOBA) and the ballpark playing well...

Pitchers Hisashi Iwakuma - FD 9200 DK 10800 DD 20100 DFSTR 9100 You are going to need to pay pretty steep prices for him, but I think it's worth it on a day full of pitching question marks. Outside of a horrendous start against Boston a few weeks ago, Iwakuma's been steady Eddie. One reason is his crazy low 0.78 BB/9 walk rate which is about as low as you'll ever see. He's also striking out more than seven batters per nine, a number that could tick up against the Astros who K more than 23% of the time against righties. He's a healthy favorite on the day and for cash games this is the way to go. Matt Shoemaker - FD 8100 DK 8800 DD 15350 DFSTR 9900 He's been something of a hidden gem this season. The peripherals are excellent with a K rate close to a batter an inning and he walks less than two per nine. The Rangers rank in the bottom third of the league against righty pitching and they are a team definitely headed in the wrong direction. Shoemaker's 3.26 xFIP shows it's not all smoke and mirrors with him and only the ballpark has me worried here. Drew Hutchison - FD 6600 DK 7100 DD 12600 DFSTR 6600 After Iwakuma and Shoemaker the waters definitely get a bit murkier. Hutchison, while anything but safe, makes for a great upside play. The Cubs K more than 23% of the time against righties and rank near the bottom of the league in team wOBA on that side of the split. Hutchison's turned in a *meh kind of season from an xFIP standpoint, but the...

And try out our partner exclusive ScoreStreak picks. Pitchers Jon Lester - FD 9700 DK 12000 DD 19850 DFSTR 9400 Lester is just one of a few pitchers in the running for the Cy Young Award (not like I care, just nice to say) and has pitched phenomenally this season, with great peripherals leading the way. Lester's strike out rate is close to a K an inning, but the big story is his control. He's walking less than two batters per nine, allowing him often times to go later into games. He's the favorite today against Danks and still coming moderately priced all things considered. The White Sox strike out 22% of the time against lefties and rate in the bottom half of the league in that platoon split. Wade Miley - FD 7500 DK 8200 DD 13750 DFSTR 5800 On such a tough pitching day, we need to find a little values in the margins. Miley doesn't have a great, great matchup today but the Giants are only slightly above league average against lefties. They strike out plenty and though guys like Pence and Posey do their fair share of damage, the rest of the lineup is bad on this side of the split. Miley has decent K upside, needs to limit the walks to be truly effective and the park helps him. It won't make me feel awesome, but this is a tough day. Consider Mark Buehrle and Roenis Elias as high risk/ K upside guys at lower prices. Catchers Jonathan Lucroy - FD 3000 DK 4300 DD 9100 DFSTR 5300 His price on FanDuel remain ridiculous and I'm buying on that $3000 salary almost all day long. There are a couple of other...
Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for ScoreStreak 9/9/14
Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for ScoreStreak 9/9/14 DFSR has partnered with ScoreStreak: a new, innovative style of DFS play. Gone is the salary finagling, mixing and matching, and hair-pulling that goes into setting lineups. ScoreStreak simplifies the process in an easy-to-use interface. Employing a prop-pick style, ScoresStreak leagues are specific outcome dependent with three categories: Total Bases, Hits, and for pitchers, Strikeouts. Also, new users who deposit through DFSR will get an extra $10 to play with. And if you are new to daily fantasy football, make sure read our Free Football e-book. Also be sure to sign up for a free 3-day trial to access the MLB and NFL system and spreadsheets that help produce our picks. And give ScoreStreak a try. You'll like it as much as we do. Now go win that Tesla! Total Bases Mike Trout Never stepping out on any kind of limb to pick one of the best (the best?) hitters in baseball to lead out your total bases category. But we don't pick Trout everyday, just the ones where he has a solid matchup. Today is one of them. He faces (somewhat) home run happy Colby Lewis in the Ballpark in Arlington, a hitter's haven through and through. Trout doesn't have issues with platoon splits in that he hits everyone well. His .912 OPS against righties this season is testament enough. Josh Donaldson Just destroys lefty pitching. Crushes lefties souls. Donaldson has tuned up southpaws with a 1.088 OPS and .459 wOBA against them on the season. Today he faces John Danks, a middling lefty, in one of the best hitters parks in U.S. Cellular Field. I'm going to have a lot of exposure to Donaldson today as the historical resume he's put up in this platoon is just too good. Hits Jose Altuve Whenever he's facing lefties, Altuve is a guy you want in this category. He's next to impossible to strike out (8.9% K rate) and never walks, meaning the ball is in play more often than not when facing a lefty. Today it's Roenis Elias who doesn't have any significant swing and miss stuff. This is kind of no-brainer on the day. Put him up for your two hit category. Erick Aybar Aybar's contact rate is excellent against righty pitching as he strikes out less than 10% of the time and walks less than 6%. That means the ball is in play about 84% of the time when he is facing righty pitching. Combine that with him facing up against mediocre righty pitching with a guy like Colby Lewis and you have a good hit expectation. Strikeouts Jon Lester Max Scherzer Again, there are some days when these plays are rather easy to make. Granted the...
