Price squares off against Matt Shoemaker, who had a 6.31 ERA in Triple A this year. Price's ERA is riduculously inflated, and his insane 70 K: 6 BB ratio on the season should turn that ERA around right quick. Anaheim is one of the very best places to pitch in the majors. Price will be a huge start today. Felix Hernandez FanDuel 9800 DraftKings 11800 DraftStreet 24949 King Felix has sort of... not been himself recently. But the guy still has a sub 3 xFIP and more than a K per inning. The Twins haven't been a doormat when it comes to hitting this year, but Nolasco has been an absolute mess, and this one looks like one of Felix's best opportunities for a W with some Ks on the side in a while. A bunch of guys with upside & question marks. It's an odd day for pitching. Aside from the two big guns, you have guys with things going for them and things really weighing against them. Cingrani faces the Phillies - who are much worse against lefties... but he opposes Cliff Lee. Anibal Sanchez has been striking guys out in heaps, and gets to face the struggling Jake Peavy, but has those pesky Red Sox hitters to contend with in Fenway. For my money? I'm spending on pitching today.   Catchers Jonathan Lucroy FanDuel 3600 DraftKings 4200 DraftStreet 6729 Lucroy is a really strange player. And by strange, I mean awesome. He's a true lefty crusher, but he does it in such a unique way for guys who play behind home plate. His 900 OPS and 145 wRC+ against lefties should tell you all you need to know as to why Lucroy tops the catcher ranks today. Brian McCann FanDuel 3100 DraftKings 3800 DraftStreet 5969 All aboard the Brian McCann train! A disciplined hitter like McCann shouldn't be too fooled by Morton's trickery, and taking the slugging left handed catcher in Yankee stadium vs. any righty can never be a bad thing. Jarrod Saltalamacchia FanDuel 2600 DraftKings 3400 DraftStreet 4666 Salty ended a recent hitless streak with...

Darvish had a few games in which he was letting up more than his share of hits, but the game against Boston highlighted that he's one of the elite pitchers in the game (not really news mind you, but his stock was down heading into that affair). Today it's the Blue Jays, a squad about middle of the pack against righties who strike out in the league average range. I am taking Darvish today on his ultimate upside combined with a semi-low floor just because swings and misses he generates. The Blue Jays live off the long ball. If that expectation is dimished through increased strikeouts then Darvish has some huge upside in this one. Zack Greinke FanDuel 9700 DraftKings 11300 DraftStreet 23315 Greinke and Darvish are about neck and neck for me today. I think Darvish is a better pitcher but Greinke has the better matchup. He's been a different pitcher this season. And by different, I mean shit loads better than the last few seasons. His early numbers are almost identical to his last full season with the Brewers in 2011. The big thing for him is the strikeout. He's back up to averaging more than a K an inning and walking a career low. His xFIP is right in line with his sub 3 ERA and all signs point to him having "it". The D-Backs are below average against righties, much in part to a drop off in their order basically after Goldschmidt. Run Greinke out there today. On DraftStreet, pairing Greinke with Darvish and a RP is a pretty high upside play that still leaves a few bucks for hitters. Lance Lynn FanDuel 7800 DraftKings 9000 DraftStreet 15241 Do you know who ranks second to last in the league in wOBA against righties? The Braves. The Mets have been better. The Mets. The Braves are getting crushed by righties, mostly because they have a couple of guys (I'm looking at you Upton brothers) who are significantly worse against that hand. Gattis and Simmons and Johnson too. Basically, except for Freeman and Heyward, this...

Pitchers Michael Wacha DraftKings 10,000 Wacha was a top play yesterday and with the rain out the considerations are the same. So here is the writeup from yesterday. The only issue is that he isn't listed (at present) on FanDuel The Cubs poured it on the other night, lighting up the Cardinals and boat-racing them out of the park. Don't fear, that won't happen again any time soon. At least not against a guy like Wacha. Wacha is bringing the heat this season, striking out nearly 11 batters per 9, limiting the walks and holding on to an xFIP under three. And the Cubs, even with that offensive outburst, remain very close to the bottom of the league in team wOBA against righties while striking out about 22% of the time. Nathan Eovaldi FanDuel 7200 DraftKings 9300 DraftStreet 20998 Has been borderline terrific to start the season. Eovaldi has elevated his K rate about 30% this season, which doesn't seems to be smoke and mirrors. His xFIP is 3.15 (trailing the ERA by just a tad) and his walk rate is teeny tiny. This plus the Giants are in the bottom third of the league in team wOBA against righties with a .296. He's the most expensive pitcher on DraftStreet (I'd still play him), an absolute steal on FanDuel and seeming like a strong cash game play on DraftKings. After these two the pitching gets a little weird. There are upside guys like Salazar and Ventura, but I don't love their matchups. Tyson Ross FanDuel 6700 DraftKings 9000 DraftStreet 17779 A solid, if unspectacular play against Cincy today. Ross has been a decent pitcher to start the year. Doing nothing outstandingly, but not struggling in any real areas. His xFIP is in line with his low 3's ERA and he gets enough strikeouts to be DFS relevant. Walks a few too many batters which can hurt him getting deep into games. But the Reds are about league average against righties. Lance Lynn FanDuel 7800 DraftKings 9300 DraftStreet 20766 Targeting matchup here almost exclusively. With some pitching coming cheaper today, Lynn grabs the Cubs, a team ranking near the bottom of the league in OPS and wOBA against righties....

In no uncertain terms Tanaka has been amazing this season. He is striking out more than 10 batters per 9 and is rocking a crazy low xFIP of 2.18. The Mets, despite some recent successes are still near the bottom of the league in hitting against righties. On sites like FanDuel, Tanaka is still completely reasonable in terms of price. On the other sites your decision is a little harder as he'll cost a bit more. But this is a great cash game play. He's been too good, and the Mets too bad to not have him in there as a safe play. Johnny Cueto FanDuel 9800 DraftKings 12500 DraftStreet 26384 Your other cash game option. I think for my preferences I'd save a few dollars and go Tanaka, but Cueto is right there too. Gets the terrible Padres offensive that, even while running a little bad, is still pretty dreadful. Cueto has been nails this season even if his ERA is a little luck fueled. He has an insane 99.5% strand rate. That my friends will not remain so high for much longer. It simply cannot. He also has a .161 Babip that will begin to regress. This kind of luck is actually why he is a little overpriced. But still a solid, safe-ish option today. Michael Wacha FanDuel 8500 DraftKings 10000 DraftStreet 22006 The Cubs poured it on the other night, lighting up the Cardinals and boat-racing them out of the park. Don't fear, that won't happen again any time soon. At least not against a guy like Wacha. Wacha is bringing the heat this season, striking out nearly 11 batters per 9, limiting the walks and holding on to an xFIP under three. Madison Bumgarner FanDuel 9200 DraftKings 9900 DraftStreet 21269 This is a boom or bust play because of the opponent....

He had an impossible time putting hitters away late in counts and got torched by the long ball (his biggest flaw this season). But there is still time for him to regress to his mean. Because man has he been running bad this year. The HR/FB rate is way, way out of whack, at close to 16%. This will come down. His xFIP is almost a full two runs lower than his ERA and, outside of last game, he's been racking up the K's. I thought after last game we'd get him on a little discount. Not really, but he is only the fourth most expensive pitcher on most sites, and has a way better matchup than anyone above him. The Mariners are near the bottom of the league against lefties this season and if Price is going to regress this is the game. Josh Beckett FanDuel 6300 DraftKings 9100 DraftStreet 18676 Hasn't been as good as his sub 3.00 ERA would suggest, but Beckett has definitely shown signs of life. He's striking out almost a batter an inning, and been decent. Again, some of his ERA numbers are behind a minuscule .224 Babip and a hopelessly high 84% strand rate. Those won't stay at those levels for long. But the Marlins are a weaker offensive team, especially on the road. I outlined some of this yesterday in my writeup on Haren. Cliff Notes: They've been lucky at home and unlucky on the road. They probably fall somewhere in the middle. But Beckett is real cheap in some spots today (especially FanDuel) and seems safe-ish. Adam Wainwright FanDuel 10100 DraftKings 12500 DraftStreet 25474 For the dollars I definitely like Price more today. But Wainwright represents a somewhat safe play against the Cubs who rank near the bottom of the league against righties. The Cubs strikeout about 24% of the time and Wainwright can get his share of punchouts. Again, for the money I'd go Price, but this is a fine play. Mike Leake FanDuel 6800 DraftKings 8200 DraftStreet 15611 Have to love...
