For me, I don't think I'm paying for them beyond FanDuel. The price is just nuts on DraftKings and DraftStreet. That being said, I know some folks take the stars and scrubs approach to pitchers in this situation. On those sites it just doesn't, to me, seem like the upside is there with the prices. I think there's a small case for it, but I'm not sure I'm willing to make it. That being said, understand that these are by far the two best pitchers going tonight (really any night) and both get quality matchups in Houston and Philly respectively. They both are aces. On FanDuel, I'd probably actually hedge between both in cash games as their prices and expectations are nearly identical. But if the price is through the roof, I think you can make a case to look elsewhere. But in terms of raw points, these are the two guys. John Lackey FanDuel 7500 DraftKings 9800 DraftStreet 14564 There are a couple of reasons I like Lackey tonight against the Rays. To start, he's been a good pitcher this year with an xFIP coming in the low threes, almost three quarters of a run lower than his ERA. He's striking batters out at a higher clip than normal and keeping the free passes in check. The Rays are in the middle of the pack against righties, though they don't strike out much. That is offset though by the ballpark in Tampa really depressing power to all hitters. Lackey most likely doesn't represent a bunch of upside, but his floor is high making him a good cash game play. Tim Lincecum FanDuel 7000 DraftKings 9900 DraftStreet 19077 Having been accused of becoming over-infatuated with Lincecum this season, I'll do my best to keep the Linc love to a minimum. But the fact remains that some of Timmy's numbers still bear trumpeting. His xFIP is a full run and a half lower than his ERA. Some of this is thanks to a Babip significantly...

And give a follow on Twitter @dailyfantasysr and @dougnorrie   Pitchers Zack Greinke FanDuel 10000 DraftKings 12100 DraftStreet 23116 Meet the Mets. Meets the Mets. Step right up and beat the Mets. I suspect that's what will be happening today. And though the New York faithful might not exactly appreciate the sentiment, it's very much the case with the blue and orange. They rank real damn close to the bottom on the league in every relevant hitting category against righties. It won't change too terribly much today. Greinke has been an animal this season, striking out more than 10 per 9 and keeping that xFIP under 2.70. He's pitching against one of the weakest hitting bunches in all of baseball in a ballpark that depresses power. He was made for cash games today even if you need to pay. Lance Lynn FanDuel 7900 DraftKings 9700 DraftStreet 16722 He's just fine and that's all you are looking for today. After Darvish (who I don't think I'll pay for because of opponent) and Greinke there isa group of arms that all have question marks around them. Either they are coming back from injury, have a less than ideal matchup or both. Lynn represents a guy who can generate strikeouts in the right situation and can grind out some innings. He faces an average Diamondbacks team in Busch Stadium that depresses power to all bats. This is a decent spot for a guy who I don't suspect gets blown up, a very real consideration for many of the pitchers going today. Aaron Harang FanDuel 6800 DraftKings 9900 DraftStreet 15530 Can't believe I'm doing it. I'm really doing it. Oh man. Breath Doug, breath. It pains me to say this, but Harang's resurgence just might be for real. With every start, as his sample size grows and the underlying numbers normalize, he looks like just a really good pitcher. I'm as shocked as you. He's striking out more than a batter an inning and his xFIP sits only a fraction about his sub 3 ERA. The Brewers sit in the bottom half of the league against righties, though a little of this is grain-of-salt territory because they've dealt with a number of injuries this year, and Braun is back....

Pitchers Michael Wacha FanDuel 8700 DraftKings 10300 DraftStreet 22536 Wacha has been so money this season and I suspect he knows it. Dude is racking up some impressive strikeout numbers with over 10 per 9. That's among the top in the league and goes nicely with his sub 3 xFIP. He's definitely the best arm going today from a raw number standpoint. The DBacks are middle of the road against righties which isn't too exciting. They are just ok. That being said, for cash games I think he represents some safety without a price tag that breaks the bank. Hyun-Jin Ryu FanDuel 7100 DraftKings 8200 DraftStreet 18558 The Mets, while not at the bottom of the league against lefties (more middle of the pack) strike out a ton against them. Close to 25% of their at bats against southpaws end in a strike out. That, my friends, is a lot of whiffing. Ryu comes at somewhat of a discount because he's returning from injury. This would typically make the situation a stayaway for me, but on a night of pitching question marks, I can stomach it. Ryu is a good, not great pitcher who generate K's and limits the walks. Pitching in a ballpark that depresses power helps and this makes a nice midrange option. Tanner Roark FanDuel 6300 DraftKings 9000 DraftStreet 16366 Cincinnati wasn't that good with Votto around. Without him they look pretty thin and have an abysmal second half of their lineup that is about as light hitting at it gets. Names like Heisey, Cozart and Santiago start popping up and that's before you even get to the pitcher slot. In other words, now is the time to target pitchers facing the the Small Red Machine. Roark has been serviceable in eight starts, striking out about 8 per 9 innings. His xFIP is under 4. and the walks aren't out of control. Not huge upside, but I doubt he gets bombed considering the state of the Reds. Nathan Eovaldi FanDuel 6600 DraftKings 8800 DraftStreet 17369 His last two starts were rough. But there is nothing in his Pitch F/X profile that suggest he's dealing with any kind of issue. And while the opponents were lackluster,...

The reduced Ks and increased walks are absolutely troubling. But follow me for a second. Cleveland is already in the basement of the AL Central, and they are tossing the bedraggled Trevor Bauer. Furthermore, they had an OPS 40 points higher against left handed pitching, and Verlander's right handed stylings don't mesh well with that. It's kind of weird to think of the future Cy Young winner as a match up play, but that's what you're looking at here. Bauer has looked good in AAA and his 1 start this year, but he's a season away from a season in which he walked almost 9 guys per 9 in the majors and 5.5 per 9 in the minors. Josh Beckett FanDuel 6700 DraftKings 8800 DraftStreet 17249 Beckett has been absolutely fantastic this year, and the Mets have been Metslike. Rafael Montero pitching for the Home team isn't helping matters. Do you really need a lot of advanced stats, here? You can make a great case for Beckett as the #1 overall pitcher today, but a lot of people will prefer to invest more salary at favorable multipliers. A.J. Burnett FanDuel 7100 DraftKings 8100 DraftStreet 15290 The Marlins look renewed this season, without any doubt. But a lot of their renewal comes from crushing the souls of left handers. Their park still plays well for pitchers, and Burnett is still capable of racking up the Ks. He's not looked himself in the last couple of games, but if you want a cheaper option today, Burnett couple pay off quite handsomely. He's also facing off against someone named Anthony DeSclafani, who only .01% of people in Anthony DeSclafani's family have ever heard of. Masahiro Tanaka FanDuel 10500 DraftKings 12200 DraftStreet 24067 The price is SUPER steep, and the system isn't totally buying the hype on Tanaka just yet, but I am. The lowly Cubs have a tough time scoring runs, and have won only 35.7% of their games this season (!). A lot of that is bad luck, and they actually have a better run differential than the Yankees...

Strasburg's numbers this season are some of the best of his career. What sways public opinion on Stras is that his blow ups early in the season were high profile and he didn't last more than five innings in each. The rest of his season he's been nails. He carries big time home/road splits for his career that probably just are a real thing. His home ERA is a full run less in Washington and today gets the Reds, a middle of the pack team against righties who become even worse without Votto at the top of the lineup. Stras will be a huge cash game start and it is risky to fade him in this spot. Garrett Richards FanDuel 7200 I would consider him everywhere but on FanDuel he is a crazy steal. Priced 30% less than Strasburg. This makes the cash game consideration here a bit closer. Richards has been super solid this season, striking out more than a batter an inning. I think he's running a little hot and is a bit overpriced on other sites because of it. The Astros strike out a ton but they aren't complete dogs. For instance, Richards is more than Stras on DraftStreet. This is probably a mistake. He's been good, but not that good. On FanDuel roll it without hesitation. When he's priced same as Stras, go Stephen. Mike Minor FanDuel 7800 DraftKings 8300 DraftStreet 16666 Coming at a crazy discount on a short day. Minor has been super solid in his first three starts back from injury. He's striking out about 8.5 batters per nine, keeping the walks down and a crazy HF/FB rate is what's keeping his ERA high. That's great news for you because others will look at the ERA and suspect he's a dud. He's not. The Brewers strike out the third most in the league against lefties at close to a 25% rate. Minor has great upside today even with a...
