You'll like it as much as we do.   Total Bases So many options today it’s kind of hard to narrow them down. That’s what happens when a bunch of crappy lefties take the hill and one them throws in Coors. Jayson Werth I’m not fading Coors Field today by any stretch of the imagination and honestly I could put Anthony Rendon and Ryan Zimmerman here as well (hint, hint). Today’s the kind of day I wish ScoreStreak allowed for more spots (hint, hint) and the Nats heading into Coors make me more than a little excited. As I’m sure they will everyone else. Werth is one of the dominant lefty platoon dudes in all of baseball with an OPS close to 1.000 this season which only builds on his career numbers. What a spot and he should clean up the total bases category. Miguel Cabrera Facing a Vidal Nuno in Chase Field. Do you need any more explanation than that? I hope not. Even in a non-Miggy season he still rates out as one of the best hitters in the baseball with an OPS close to .900 (poor for is lofty standards). I don’t care though. This is too good of a matchup in too good of a park.   Hits Ian Kinsler Speaking of lefty platoon splits heading into Chase Field to face Vidal Nuno. Kinsler rocks a nice career contact rate against lefties and is better on this side of the split. It hasn’t played out perfectly that way this season (costing me some sheckles early) but I don’t live in the past and neither should you. Brian Dozier What I like about this play is that Dozier is better against lefties and T.J. House has a low K and...

If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out.   Pitchers Zack Wheeler - FD 9200 DK 10100 DD 17150 SS 26900 He was pushed back a day. This is my writeup from yesterday. Same considerations. For team that’s righty heavy throughout their lineup, the Brewers actually struggle a bit against lefties. They rank in the bottom third of the league against that hand with a .309 team wOBA and strike out almost 23% of the time. Gio isn’t a sure thing by any means and represents a little more of a GPP play than anything because his control is erratic at times. But he’s been solid this season and definitely has swing and miss stuff when he’s rolling. The walks scare me for sure, but I think he has the best chance of far exceeding his salary today. Alex Wood...

If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out.   Pitchers The big problem with pitching today is that there are two obvious aces going, but they cost so damned much and don't have perfect matchups making the price point a little hard to justify. Obviously both King Felix and Price are among the very best in the game. I just think it will be so tough to have their salaries in the lineup without making a big time sacrifice in the areas of your offense. Gio Gonzalez - FD 9200 DK 10100 DD 17150 SS 26900 For team that’s righty heavy throughout their lineup, the Brewers actually struggle a bit against lefties. They rank in the bottom third of the league against that hand with a .309 team wOBA and strike out almost 23% of the time. Cole Hamels - FD 8800 DK 9900 DD 17500 SS 27200 This is another risk if you aren’t going with one of the big boys today. Hamels gets the Braves as team sitting at the far ends of the spectrum in two critical areas. First off, they hit lefties really well with a team .336 wOBA that’s fifth in the league. On the other side of it though they strike out a ton, almost 24% of the time. Playing Hamels is high risk/ high reward. Like Gio, the walks are an issue. But he can strike guys out and has a low 3’s xFIP. Tyson Ross - FD 7400 DK 9000 DD 16850 SS 26400 I know the Mets have been steadily improving their offense and they kind of screwed me last night by roughing up Ian Kennedy early....

You'll like it as much as we do.   Total Bases Paul Goldschmidt Goldie has destroyed lefties this season and if we are looking for total bases this is a place to go. Travis Wood has an xFIP in the high 4's and is just generally a bad pitcher. The only thing that scares me off Goldschmidt even a little is that Wood can get K's while also walking a bunch of batters. This just slightly lowers his total bases expectation. Otherwise he is all systems go. His OPS is over 1K and he just feasts off of southpaws. Bautista There are a ton of good options for total bases today, making some of the choices near the top end awfully tough. Bautista though is in a solid spot against Colby Lewis, who I'll be picking on a ton today across the industry. Lewis has been unlucky this season, but he's also pretty bad, sporting a mid 4's xFIP. Joey Bats is a stud with an OPS in the .900's who walks more than he strikes out. Hits Jose Reyes Speaking of picking on Colby Lewis, I have Reyes down as our top hits guy for because he generates a lot of contact at the top of the order. He keeps his walks and his strikeouts low which means his chances at a multi-hit game is about as good as you'll see on the slate today considering the pitcher on the mound. The ballpark helps as well and this is who I will have across the slate. Andrew McCutchen Speaking of dudes who absolutely crush lefties, McCutchen is one of the true masters of the form. He has a wRC+ of 183 on the season against lefties with an OPS of 1.013 in...

If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out.   Pitchers Stephen Strasburg - FD 6700 DK 7800 DD 11850 SS 19900 The Rockies are a tough team to evaluate. At home, they are obviously world beaters because of the ballpark. But you put this squad on the road and all of a sudden they drop down to 22nd in the league in team OPS with a 22% strike out rate. That’s a huge dip that points starkly to Mile High bolstering the overall numbers. We know this of course about the park but I just wanted to point out that the Rockies can be targeted when on the road. Liriano is just such an opportunity if you are chasing cheap upside.   Catchers Brian McCann - FD 2800 DK 3700 DD 7200 SS 5000 Might as well start off the second half right we left off in the first half. By recommending McCann. This has to be the guy I’ve written the most about this season. I feel like I know the guy personally. Or at least his struggles. Dude’s Babip remains low as does the HR/FB%. I’m expecting a big second half from the guy and what a great way to start but against Mike Leake, a guy susceptible to the home run, playing in Yankee Stadium. Let’s go Brian. I have faith my brother. Miguel Montero - FD 3000 DK 3900 DD 8250 SS 6500 He’s having a solid season against righties (he is horrific against lefties) with an .864 OPS and 136 wRC+. Montero is buoyed by the ballpark in Chase Field that’s among the best hitter’s homes in all of baseball. Edwin Jackson has strikeout potential but he also can get absolutely shelled on the right night. This is a tough spot for the guy in this ballpark where the margins are super thin. Wilin Rosario - FD 3300 DK 4200 DD 7800 SS 6600 I’d like it so much better if the game were at home obviously. But we can consider Rosario...
