I wrote this the last time Conley played the Lakers (2 days ago, if you're keeping track at home), but this is literally the very perfect spot to play him. Not only have the Lakers allowed the most fantasy points to opposing point guards of any team in the league, the Grizzlies are essentially missing a whole team's worth of players as compared to what they were rolling out earlier this season. Conley put up 42 fantasy points in 29 minutes on Wednesday, and I see no reason why he shouldn't repeat that performance (or even exceed it, if the Lakers keep it close) on Friday. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it! Now let’s look at some news that’s come in throughout the day to see if anything’s changed in our minds or in the NBA landscape. It's a shorter slate and a light news day, but we'll be updating as stuff rolls in. Also throw out some ideas in the comments and we can take it from there. What We Know Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Tobias Harris should get bumps with Stanley Johnson out Johnson was only playing 22 minutes a game, but he was shooting with some frequency during those minutes, and my guess is that SVG redistributes at least some of these minutes to KCP (who has played big minutes in the past) and Tobias Harris in particular. I'm also considering Marcus Morris for this reason. Jose Calderon is still starting, unfortunately It seems like Rambis is almost ready to pull the trigger on putting Galloway in the starting lineup, where he's been very successful from a fantasy perspective in the past. Nothing to see yet, unfortunately, so this is more an effort to put it on your radar for the moment Galloway takes his rightful role in the Knicks' starting 5. Dion Waiters is headed to the bench Irrelevant, mostly, except now you can at least avoid any temptation whatsoever to put him anywhere. Word is that Andre Roberson might move into the starting lineup, but that's not exciting at all.   What We’re Waiting to Know Kawhi Leonard's status A lot of dominoes fall in San Antonio depending on Leonard's status, so I will probably stay away from them unless we hear something definitive, even in a great match-up with the Kings. As for now, I'm assuming he's out (which would make Aldridge a great play on increased usage in a nice match-up). Still, Aldridge feels a little bit more...

Pitcher Matt Harvey - FD 9900 DK 9300 DFSTR 3100 Harvey is the de facto ace of the slate tonight, and he also happens to be the one with the best match-up as well. The Phils were 27th in the league against right handers last year (with a putrid .294 wOBA), and Buchanan is no great shakes as a starter. Harvey was also fantastic against a much better lineup his last time out - going 6 innings with 9 Ks and a BB. And then there's Citi Field - one of the friendliest places for pitchers to pitch in the majors. On a day with only a few bigger money pitchers going, this is looking like the easiest play on the board. Hisashi Iwakuma - FD 8500 DK 9100 DFSTR 3100 The Dodgers were one of the best teams in the league at hitting right handed pitching, but with the departure of a few key bats, I'm not liking their chances to repeat that title this year. And Iwakuma has a few other things going for him here. First - David Huff pitching for the home team means that Iwakuma should have an elevated chance for the win. Next, Dodger stadium is one of the best pitchers' parks in the league. All and all, this looks like a very safe way to go if you don't want to follow the crowd with Harvey. Trevor Cahill - FD 6600 DK 5300 DFSTR 3100 If you want an interesting play that may be off board tonight, consider Trevor Cahill. He's cheap, which means you'll get to spend up a ton elsewhere. He's facing the Marlins, who struck out at the second highest rate (23.3%) of any team against opposing righties last season. And he's facing Tom Koehler, the very definition of a league average-below average starter. The issue with Cahill will always be the walks - but he will have games where he stays more around the plate. If he does, his high K rate could turn this into a nice game to grab Cahill in big tournaments.   Catcher Travis d'Arnaud - FD 3000 DK 3800 DFSTR 5000 D'Arnaud didn't exactly light the world on fire in his rookie campaign, but there's still a lot to like about grabbing value with him this season. First of all, his BABIP was FAR below the established levels he had in the minors. And while...

Pitcher Clayton Kershaw - FD 11700 DK 12400 DFSTR 12700 Ended the year as the league’s best pitcher and starts off this season looking very much the same way. To say Clayton was dominant last season would be an insult to his actual performance. He K’d well over a batter an inning, walked almost no one and finished the season with an absurd 1.77 ERA. Look for the good times to continue this season as he comes out of the gate facing the Padres who, while improved this season, have a lot of work to make up for their bottom feeding against lefties last season. They hit a paltry .616 OPS with a 22% K rate agaisnt lefties. Plus, Kershaw gets to roll in a home park that really depresses power across the board. Kershaw enters this game a heavy favorite for the win. The tag is steep, but in cash games he makes a solid call. Corey Kluber - FD 10400 DK 9800 DFSTR 9700 Coming off a somewhat surprising Cy Young season, Kluber makes for a solid Opening Day value facing the Astros. Kluber had an insane 5:1 K:BB ratio last season to with a 2.57 xFIP. His 28.3% K% was among the best in the game and should see decent K numbers in this game. The Astros made some minor changes adding Lowrie and Rasmus to the lineup, but are coming off a year in which they struck out 24% of the time against righties. He comes a little cheaper than Kershaw, and has a little less upside. But the value is still there. He’s a clear play on DraftKings. Francisco Liriano - FD 8500 DK 8300 DFSTR 7700 He’s more of a GPP consideration for me on this slate for a couple of reasons. When Liriano gets rolling down hill he can rack up strikeout numbers with the best of them. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have pinpoint command which can lead to elevated walk numbers and pitch counts. It’s tough for him to go late into games. In fact, he didn’t make it past seven innings in any start last season. But he does strike out more than a batter an inning and faces a Reds’ team that came in near the basement last season against southpaws. They added Marlon Byrd which will help, and could surprise a little on the offensive front. But overall, I think you...
