If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out.   Pitchers Yu Darvish FanDuel 10500 DraftKings 12400 DraftStreet 25638 Some risk/ reward with this play tomorrow. Darvish is obviously crazy expensive but he also comes with some big time upside because the Astros strike out 24% of the time against righties and rank 24th in the league in team wOBA against that hand. Darvish strikes out 11 batters per nine and I think he's actually worth these prices today. He could really post a monster against squad struggling on this side of the platoon split. Chris Sale FanDuel 9900 DraftKings 11800 DraftStreet 24098 Sale doesn't have quite the upside as Darvish, especially in the strikeout realm, but the Red Sox aren't a good offensive team and rank in the middle of the pack this season against lefties with a .706 team OPS against that hand. Basically, the Red Sox are just a blah team and Sale can exploit that in this matchup. He's a control freak who walks less than two batters per nine and has an xFIP of 2.80 and 5:1 K:BB. Those are more than enough to pay his bigger tag today and the Darvish vs. Sale decision is a little closer because of it. Jason Hammel FanDuel 7400 DraftKings 9000 DraftStreet 19312 Hammel has been nothing short of awesome this season and the A's really kind of crushed that trade last week in the short term. For the Cubs Hammel rocked a 3.23 xFIP with about a 4.5:1 K:BB ratio that has me excited for this matchup today. The Giants rank 26th in the league with a .295 wOBA against righty pitching and strikeout more than 21% of the time. Hammel is a fantastic price across the industry and AT&T Park really depresses power from all sides. Love him in all formats. Marcus Stroman FanDuel 6600 DraftKings 7300 DraftStreet 14599 early This is the guy I'd be looking at for the early slate for sure. He's a great deal considering the circumstances and options. Stroman has...

Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for ScoreStreak 7/9/14

Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for ScoreStreak 7/9/14 DFSR has partnered with ScoreStreak: a new, innovative style of DFS play. Gone is the salary finagling, mixing and matching, and hair-pulling that goes into setting lineups. ScoreStreak simplifies the process in an easy-to-use interface. Employing a prop-pick style, ScoresStreak leagues are specific outcome dependent with three categories: Total Bases, Hits, and for pitchers, Strikeouts. New users who deposit through DFSR will get an extra $10 to play with. We are putting in picks every night and giving you some of our top plays each day. Two are on us, the third is all you. Or go your own way. As always, if you are new to daily fantasy baseball, make sure read our Free Baseball e-book. It contains one mistake that basically everyone in the daily fantasy baseball industry is making! Also be sure to sign up for a free 3-day trial to access the MLB system and spreadsheets that help produce our picks. And give ScoreStreak a try. You'll like it as much as we do.   Total Bases Troy Tulowitzki Wilin Rosario Going with two Rockies in my top total bases slots today for good reason. These guys crush lefty pitching and Eric Stults is in for some real trouble today. Tulo's numbers against lefties are out of this world as he's been the best hitter in all of baseball against that side of the split this season. Rosario, all things considered, isn't too far behind posting an OPS in the mid 900's. I think these two guys compound on each other as the Rockies should be putting up a bunch of runs today and both stand to see extra at-bats because of it. I think these two guys are easy calls in the total bases category today considering many of the other big hitters are in tough matchups. Hits Robinson Cano Cano is in a great spot to collect multiple hits today for a couple of different reasons. His contact rate is solid as his 11.6% K% and 8.6% BB% mean he's getting the ball in play early and often. Also, he faces Kyle Gibson who pitches to contact (harder contact) with a 4.75 K/9 which is about as bad as you'll see from an everyday starter. I think Cano will be a top play in cumulative hits today just because he should at the very least have his bat on the ball. Scooter Gennett Not a guy I've mentioned much in this spot, but for no fault of his own. Gennett is crushing righty pitching this season with a 146 wRC+ and .903 OPS in what is for him a natural platoon. Roberto Hernandez sucks with an xFIP in the high 4's and the only thing that worries...

If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out.   Pitchers Julio Teheran FanDuel 9300 DraftKings 9900 DraftStreet 22075 I should start by saying that Teheran isn’t anywhere close to as good as his 2.29 ERA would lead you to believe. His xFIP is much more in the mid three’s area. That being said, he’s still a solid deal on a day that finding solid pitching value is anything but easy. The Mets are close the bottom of the league in team wOBA against righties. They strikeout about 21% of the time which keeps Teheran’s K potential solid. I also like how Teheran doesn’t walk anyone and has solid peripherals with a 4:1 K:BB ratio. This is a safe-ish place for cash games and I’m sticking him in those lineups today. Phil Hughes FanDuel 6900 DraftKings 8800 DraftStreet 14799 Think old Phil has enjoyed the move away from Yankee Stadium? He’s shown a dramatic improvement in one key area and that is the free passes. He is walking less than a batter an innings, a direct result of pounding the zone, no longer afraid of the ball flying into the cheap seats in Yankee Stadium. The strikeout numbers are the same and the xFIP has dropped considerably. He is just a different pitcher, allowing his flyball style to play in a new stadium. And tonight he heads to Safeco to face a team in the bottom half of the league in wOBA. I love the new Hughes. You should too. Sonny Gray FanDuel 8600 DraftKings 8100 DraftStreet 17362 This is a situation where an okay pitcher is in an okay matchup and we get okay value. Nothing blowing me away here, but there is a group of pitchers in the middle who all sort of look alike and we need to find ways to get even a sliver of separation. Gray's xFIP is in the mid 3's, he strikes out almost eight batters per nine but the walks are a bit of an issue. The Giants rank in the...

If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out.   Pitchers Cole Hamels FanDuel 8700 DraftKings 10200 DraftStreet 19173 I'm a big Hamels fan. I think he's consistently underpriced on many sites and today is no different. A little expensive on DraftKings but totally in play there and everywhere else, Hamels is incredibly consistent on a year-to-year basis and even from game to game, typically offersing something close to the same kind of production. Today he snags the Brewers, a righty-heavy team that surprisingly can't hit lefties all that well. They rank in the bottom half of the league with a .310 team wOBA against southpaws and strikeout more than 22% of the time. Hamels is below some of the big boys in terms of price and this is a nice place to roll him out. Mike Minor FanDuel 7100 DraftKings 8000 DraftStreet 13143 Start getting excited. Minor is significantly underpriced across the board based on an inflated ERA. But that's a lot of smoke. He's been incredibly unlucky in two key areas, Babip and Hr/FB%. Both are well over his career averages and with just a little regression his ERA will begin to mirror the 3.50 xFIP. A good team to start that regression train is the Mets who strike out close to 25% of the time. Granted, the Mets have been an above average hitting team. But I think this is a situation in which I'll take the pitcher at a low cost against an average team that K a ton. Hisashi Iwakuma FanDuel 8200 DraftKings 9100 DraftStreet 15079 There's a good news, bad news thing going on with Iwakuma today. The good first. He doesn't walk anyone. Currently his BB/9 is 0.89. This is about as low as you'll ever see for a starter. The bad news? He strikes out less than seven batters per nine. So the upside is a bit limited. Good news. The Twins strike out around 22% of the time against righties meaning Iwakuma stands to punch out an extra batter or...

You'll like it as much as we do.   Total Bases Mike Trout Ever heard of him? He's the best player in baseball and you could make the case to play him every single day in this spot even against some of the ace pitchers. J.A. Happ isn't one of those guys of course. Happ isn't horrible per se, but the xFIP is in the 4's and Trout only rocks a 1.068 OPS against lefty pitching this season. Just your typical Mike Trout season going on as he throttles baseballs. Will be a popular play and for good reason. David Ortiz This is a matchup thing for Papi who has struggled a little bit this season (relative to his own career numbers). But Scott Carroll is a guy created to break hitters out of slumps. Guy doesn't strike anyone out, issues a few walks and is just generally bad at pitching on the major league level. Papi is better against righties though he's struggled this season thanks to a lower Babip which may come from the defensive shifts against him. But it's hard to shift on balls heading over the fence and that is in play today with his matchup.   Hits Jacoby Ellsbury Justin Masterson is other-worldly bad against lefties, allowing a wOBA close to .400 against them. There are a few Yankees to make a case for today but Ellsbury (and to some extent Gardner) seem like favorites (as much as that is possible) to grab some hits today. If it weren't for how dominant he is against righties Masterson wouldn't even be in the majors. But the lefties give him issues and the speed on Ellsbury makes him a solid play today. Brock Holt Hitting leadoff against Scott Carroll is...
