Odorizzi's got the K stuff to put up big numbers at this price. His issue is command. I'm less worried about that today against a young and weaker Sox team even if the game is in Fenway. Consider Gio Gonzalez   Catchers Early Games Derek Norris - FD 2300 DK 3300 DD 7050 DFSTR 4300 Really nothing has changed from when I recommended him yesterday against LeBlanc. Hector Santiago is better, but not by much as he's allowed a .750 wOBA to righty hitters this season. Norris has hit lefties well all season and getting a middle of the order catcher at punt prices on the better side of his split is too good to pass up. Late Games Mike Zunino - FD 2400 DK 3300 DD 7200 DFSTR 4500 Even with an insane K rate, Zunino still has an 111 wRC+ against lefties this season. I like him against a guy like Mark Buehrle who's own K/9 is right around five. If we can lower the expectation of Zunino's biggest he starts to look like a nice punt play value in a hitter's park. Catcher is tougher in the late slate so I'm fine spending nothing and moving on. I'd prefer Sale slightly because the matchup against the Twins is much better than Price against the Royals, but even with that I don't think they're favorites to hit value on those prices. Hamels though, while a step below in talent, is coming on FanDuel about $1,600 less ($1,800 less on DK) and matching up against the woeful Padres in Petco. Seems like a no-brainer really considering Hamels' peripherals have been solid this season and he's posted a 3.27 xFIP. Again, from a talent level he isn't on par with the other big guns, but the price and matchup dictate a play here. Francisco Liriano - FD 8700 DK 9900 DD 15750 DFSTR 8100 Very few other pitchers have the short term strike outside of Liriano. When he gets it rolling down hill this dude puts up some crazy inning-to-inning K numbers. That being said, he's always risky as his command can sometimes submarine him. Or can knock him out of games early because the pitch count gets elevated. The Red Sox are a middle of the pack team that strikes out 22% of the time against lefties. Liriano smells like a GPP play, but on the right night he can put up some big points for a little less than the studs. Dillon Gee - FD 7000 DK 7600 DD 11850 DFSTR 5700 Coming very cheap against a Miami team that's sans Giancarlo Stanton. Stanton is so good in comparison to the rest of the Marlin team that...

You will be able to spend on bats for sure considering the universally low salaries across the pitching category. Teheran is the most expensive but is also in a solid spot against the Rangers who rank in the bottom third of the league in team wOBA against righties. They don't strike out as much as I'd like but really can't hit either so there is some evening out. Teheran's had a rougher go of it lately and has been having a tough time striking batters out. Though I'm loathe to just recommend the higest salary guy, and I do recognize some of his shortcomings, I'm still fine with playing him as the win expectation should be there against a weaker squad. Consider Jeremy Hellickson but I probably won't go there Late Tyson Ross - FD 8900 DK 9800 DD 18250 DFSTR 7900 Ross isn't a great pitcher, but he's been damn good this season. I wish he was pitching at home of course, but there are a lot of things I want that I can't have (yet). His 3.11 xFIP and close to nine K/9 play well against a Diamondback team that ranks 24th in the league against righty pitching. If Ross can limit the walks even a little bit he's in line for a big night. Jered Weaver - FD 7600 DK 7600 DD 15000 DFSTR 6400 Personally I think he's fading big time as a pitcher, but sometimes matchup and price make for a play in spit of what's happening in comparison...

He showed it last game when he fanned nine Cubs over eight innings. The Phillies don't strike out as much as the Cubs, but they are a much worse hitting team against lefty pitching, rating in the bottom third of the league in team wOBA against southpaws. I think Liriano has that GPP upside you're looking for but I wouldn't roster him in cash games. Consider Cory Rasmus coming cheap   Catchers Early Slate Miguel Montero - FD 2200 DK 3100 DD 7550 DFSTR 3200 You'll see that with so many stud arms going on such a short slate, the offensive options for the early slate are tough. Montero has been decent against righties this season with a .764 OPS (fine enough for a catcher) and faces the very average Jake Peavy. The problem with stacking any D-Backs today is that there are so few of them worth warranting a mention. Montero is one of the few. Derek Norris - FD 2600 DK 3600 DD 7400 DFSTR 5000 Of course playing him against Sale seems like suicide. But you'll need to run someone out in the early slate and Norris hits lefties well. Again, with so many power arms going, avoiding them completely is tough. Our system accounts for Sale's successes and still has Norris as a somewhat acceptable option. Late Slate Jonathan Lucroy - FD 2900 DK 4300 DD 9200 DFSTR 6200 Lucroy is still coming so, so cheap on FanDuel. For his success this year against righties (.369 wOBA) and the ballpark playing well...
