If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out.   Pitchers Masahiro Tanaka FanDuel 10500 DraftKings 12100 DraftStreet 25225 I'm no expert in multicultural integration, but it doesn't appear Tanaka is having an issues adjusting to a new country. In fact, I doubt he ever goes back to Japan. Seriously. I don't think he'll ever visit. I know if I had an xFIP of 2.30 at my job, I'd never leave. K'ing ten per nine? Sleeping over in the break room. He's been a stud no doubt about it. The Twins have actually been good against righties and it doesn't look fluky. But Tanaka has been so elite that you can kind of consider him against almost anyone. Only downside (and it will be for half the games this season) is the park. Michael Wacha FanDuel 8400 DraftKings 9500 DraftStreet 18303 Wacha doesn't rate too far below Tanaka today. He's a bit behind him in raw points, but comes at such a cheaper tag almost everywhere that he makes a great cash game play. His points/$ is better than Tanaka across the board. The Giants are in the middle of the league against righties and strike out nearly 23% of the time. Busch Stadium really limits power to all sides of the plate, making Wacha even safer. If it helped me get some bigger bats in the lineup I'd really consider starting Wacha over Tanaka. His xFIP is just slightly north of three and he K's a batter an inning. Brandon McCarthy FanDuel 5900 DraftKings 7200 DraftStreet 13689 Don't know what's gotten into him this season, but I like it. He's been real, real good. McCarthy's always been solid at limiting the free passes. But this year he's seen a bump in strike outs to go along with it. People will be off of him because of the 4.87 ERA. But his xFIP is running two runs below that at 2.88. You won't see much bigger difference this far into the the season and much of it is thanks to...

If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out.   Pitchers Adam Wainwright FanDuel 10900 DraftKings 12600 DraftStreet 24184 Not as good as the 1.67 ERA would suggest, but pretty damned good, Waino is the top pitching play tonight from a safety standpoint. On a night in which some good arms are going, he draws the best matchup of the top group. The Giants rank around the middle of the league in wOBA against righties and strike out about 23% of the time. Wainwright's safety is in his refusal to walk anyone. He allows his share of hits, and is susceptible to the blowup, but I don't see it happening tonight. He comes at a steep price, but you are paying for his strikeout numbers and limited downside. David Price FanDuel 9200 DraftKings 10100 DraftStreet 18889 I still very much believe. His xFIP is trailing the ERA by nearly 1.5 runs. The Babip is 50 points higher than his career average. the HR/FB is way out of line with his career averages. And the Red Sox actually rank near the bottom of the league in K% against lefties. I'm still buying him. Don't love that it's in Fenway. But the top tier pitchers all have question marks tonight. Francisco Liriano FanDuel 6900 DraftKings 6200 DraftStreet 13910 Ok, let's parse this out. Frankie L. is by no means a safe play. He walks way,way too many guys to consider in a cash game format. But there's some good news about him today. First, his price is crazy low in some spots, reflective of his 5+ ERA. But the xFIP is a full run and a half lower. He's struggling a little with guys on base and really getting killed on the HR/FB rate. If both of those start trending toward his career averages, we are in business. Plus the Dodgers are sneaky bad against lefties. Like strike out 23% of the time bad. Bottom third of the league bad. Liriano strikes out enough guys to more than justify the prices he's...

If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out. Pitchers Clayton Kershaw FanDuel 10000 DraftKings 12600 DraftStreet 23644 Clayton Kershaw is somehow better than he was last year, sporting a 2.04 xFIP, a ridiculous 11 Ks per nine, and the same low walk rate. The guy is incredible, and he's facing a Cincinnati team that's quietly become an absolute doormat of an offense. With Votto out of the lineup, the punchless Reds are likely doomed in this one. Did I mention that LA is a great place to pitch? There's rarely an opportunity to make a pitching investment like this, especially on FanDuel. C.J. Wilson FanDuel 8700 DraftKings 11400 DraftStreet 20669 Wilson draws the Mariners in the pitcher's paradise of Safeco field. Seattle has shown signs of life at the plate this year, but that's all against right handed pitching. Wilson has his way in this one, and finishes with the W and a good pile of Ks. You heard it here first! Anibal Sanchez FanDuel 8200 DraftKings 8300 DraftStreet 17230 Sanchez has been a fine fantasy performer this year, and I believe the shine is coming off Scott Kazmir. Oakland has been a juggernaut on offense this year, but Oakland is still a nice place to pitch, and Sanchez is backed by a damned good offense of his own. Tim Lincecum FanDuel 7100 DraftKings 10600 DraftStreet 18411 Lincecum is absolutely a wild card at this stage in his career, but his upside is as good as anyone not named Kershaw or Felix today, and at 70% the price. Chicago is a mediocre offense, and San Francisco eats up left handed hitters (Lincecum's one major weakness). It's not a safe play by any means, but he could absolutely equal the lines of the top priced guys today while freeing up money to take stud hitters. Also considered: John Lackey   Catchers Yan Gomes FanDuel 2900 DraftKings 3700 DraftStreet 5740 Gomes is a really weird player - a bat first catcher with nearly...

Exclusive ScoreStreak Picks for 5/27/14

Posted by on May 27, 2014 in Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks, featured | 0 comments

DFSR is proud to announce that we are partnering with ScoreStreak: a new, innovative style of DFS play. Gone is the salary finagling, mixing and matching, and hair-pulling (not that we have much, but for you presumably) that goes into setting lineups. ScoreStreak simplifies the process in an easy-to-use interface. Employing a prop-pick style, ScoresStreak leagues are specific outcome dependent with three categories: Total Bases, Hits, and for pitchers, Strikeouts. Your goal is to hit outcomes. The higher the number, the more points you get. Choose players who will hit their marks and you win. Deposit through DFSR now and you'll get an extra $10 to play with. Come play us. We are putting in picks every night. We are also giving you some of our top plays each day. Two are on us, the third is all you. Or go your own way. ScoreStreak makes it easy to mix and match outcomes. As always, if you are new to daily fantasy baseball, make sure read our Free Baseball e-book. It contains one mistake that basically everyone in the daily fantasy baseball industry is making! Also be sure to sign up for a free 3-day trial to access the MLB system and spreadsheets that help produce our picks. And give a follow on Twitter @dailyfantasysr and @dougnorrie. And give ScoreStreak a try. You'll like it as much as we do.   Total Bases Paul Goldschmidt He's all over our daily picks today for a few reasons. He is among the elite hitters in the game, but he's especially good against lefties. He's even better against garbage lefties like Eric Stults. If I needed to guarantee at least two total bases today, he's my guy. His K% is low and the OPS is nearing 1.000 over the last year. Of course, the walks don't help you here, but when we parse out our system to project for just total bases, he's a top play. Ryan Braun Goes without saying that he's one of the best hitters in the game. Today he gets a lefty in Wei-Yin Chen, a decent, but not great pitcher. I want a guy who feasts on the platoon split and rakes extra base hits. Braun is your guy. PEDs-Schmee-EDS (or however that saying I just made up goes). He's a favorite (relative to the field) to come away with at least two total bases today.   Hits Andrew Mccutchen Was hard to decide whether to put him in the total bases or hits category. I'm rolling with him here because CitiField plays just slightly worse for power, but leaves plenty of room in the gaps. Cutch beasts on lefty pitching and Jon Niese is, well, Jon Niese. Cutch will have his bat on the...

And give a follow on Twitter @dailyfantasysr and @dougnorrie.   Pitchers Yu Darvish FanDuel 11000 DraftKings 11200 DraftStreet 26256 Among the elite pitchers in the game. That isn't in question. It only becomes a question of how much you are willing to pay. The price on DraftStreet, for me, is pretty much a non starter. I don't think you can allocate that percentage of your cap for a guy who isn't facing a bottom feeding offense. But everywhere else he's in play. The Twins have a 22% K% and are light hitting especially around the bottom of their order. Darvish strikes out nearly 10.5 per 9 and is actually walking less batters this season. Walking less guys and striking out a few less guys this year has led to some more hits. So his xFIP is a little higher than his ERA. But he's still a stud. (Update: Darvish is scratched tonight. Bump up Zack Greinke as the next stud in line after Sale.) Chris Sale FanDuel 9400 DraftKings 11600 DraftStreet 23715 I really wish they struck out more, but even with the contact, the Indians rank 27th in the league in team wOBA against lefties. Their K% is low, which might limit Sale's ultimate upside. But they've been a weak hitting bunch in their lineups versus lefties. In his limited action this season, Sale has been nails. Striking out more than 10 per 9, keeping the BB's under 2 per 9 and rocking an xFIP in the mid 2's. He's a little worse than his 1.89 ERA, but not by any significant margin. The Babip is only .213, so some regression coming, but like Darvish this guy's an ace and the Tribe are weak. Jon Lester FanDuel 8300 DraftKings 9800 DraftStreet 16174 The Braves are so weird. They rank first in the league against lefties in team wOBA with a .377 (this is a full .014 points higher than number two). But at the same time they rank dead last in strikeout percentage at 24.6%. Making Mr.Lester a GPP play if ever one existed. Lester is having his best season as a professional pitcher. His K's are through the roof, well outpacing his career averages. He's striking out almost two more batters per nine. That's...
