If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out.   Pitchers Corey Kluber FanDuel 8500 DraftKings 8800 DraftStreet 18856 Kluber has been nothing short of brilliant since a few hiccups early in the season. He's striking out close to 11 batters per 9 and limiting the walks. Frankly, he's putting up ace numbers and has been one of the best pitcher's in the game. The xFIP is 2.75, more than a half run lower than his ERA. And the Red Sox are a sneaky team to target for pitchers. These guys don't go up and down the lineup like they have in the past and are middle of the pack against righties. It isn't a super safe play, but nothing today feels that way. I'll take the K upside Kluber presents without facing one of the top flight offensive teams. He's underpriced a little because he's playing the Red Sox. Take advantage. Ian Kennedy FanDuel 6800 DraftKings 9100 DraftStreet 18397 He's coming off a rough outing against the Phillies last time around. That was in a hitter's park and Kennedy is a flyball pitcher used to the friendly confines of Petco. He should feel right at home in CitiField. The Mets rank near the bottom of the league in wOBA against righties and just generally stink. I'm buying on Kennedy on the matchup as well as his prices and the awesome K rate and peripherals this season. He's got about a 4.5/1 K/BB rate and the ballpark should keep the flyballs from going over the fence. I'd consider him in cash games. James Shields FanDuel 8400 DraftKings 9000 DraftStreet 18115 I had a whole genius write up done on this Shields play and it got deleted right before post so now I am annoyed. I know you don't care about this, just venting. Anyway, it centered around how this was a risky pick. The White Sox are good against rigthies, but they also strike out a ton which boosts Shields's upside. It's a close one and I would only...

Today's picks brought to you by the DFSR team with a hat tip to Mark Hallman Total Bases Nelson Cruz One great aspect of ScoreStreak is you ability to play guys regardless of salary considerations. This would sound like an easy proposition, i.e. just choose the best players always. But with such a large player pool we need to make careful consideration in a limited number of spots. Today Cruz is a guy tough to play on salary sites because of his price, but here he’s in the sweet spot for total bases. Hr crushes lefty pitching with a .974 OPS and .415 wOBA over the last year against that hand. And then we get Mr. J.A. Happ(less). Cruz will face the lefty in Camden Yards, a batter’s haven. This is the top total bases expectation on the day and a guy I’ll have in my top spot. Giancarlo Stanton He’s significantly better against lefties, so I’m typically hesitant to get him in against righties. That being said, I’m usually considering him with the salary in mind. Here that isn’t an issue as we are just looking for total bases and not necessarily value hunting. It should be mentioned that he has a large gap between his expected total bases and his expected hits meaning he needs to be in one of the top total bases spots as he’s an all or nothing kind of guy. And hey, welcome back Vance Worley. You are about to get smoked.   Hits Robinson Cano Cano’s seen a power outage since the move to Seattle. Some of this was to be expected going from a great hitter’s park to a pitcher’s park. Though...

We're also trying a new format called Scorestreak - it's a much more accessible game than the traditional salary cap format, and people who sign up through DFSR get a few free bucks. If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out.   Pitchers Clayton Kershaw FanDuel 10400 DraftKings 12200 DraftStreet 25550 For me, Kershaw is the clear #1 among the big money pitchers today. Felix is more expensive, and he's facing a better offense. Dodger stadium is perfectly suited to Kershaw's electric stuff, and the Diamondbacks are a below-average team in terms of wOBA when they're away from their lovely home park. The only downside? They're also the 3rd hardest team in the league to strike out. I don't know if that will matter against Kershaw, but it's worth keeping an eye on. Collin McHugh FanDuel 7000 DraftKings 10500 DraftStreet 16497 This is a close one for me - but I'm going in the direction of McHugh for a couple of reasons. First of all, you're still getting incredible potential bang for your buck on these prices. No one else in the 7k range (on FD) is as capable as McHugh is of a 20 point outing. There's certainly a little risk here, but here's a brightside - the Rays are a lowly 23rd in the majors in wOBA, and Alex Cobb isn't quite the ace he looked like he might become. Andrew Cashner FanDuel 8100 DraftKings 9500 DraftStreet 17555 Okay, so I get that I am an intense upside whore, but hear me out. Cashner has put away stuff, and the Mets not only strike out a lot, they don't really do anything well on offense (28th in the majors in wOBA, behind only Cashner's Padres). The only ding on Cashner in this game is that Bartolo Colon has actually been pretty awesome for the Mets, as well. Cashner isn't really a double-up play, but if you want some serious upside on a decent price? He's your guy. I couldn't kill you for taking Colon in this one, either. Just pick your poison. Also considered: Lance Lynn, Matt Garza, Nathan Eovaldi   Catcher Buster Posey FanDuel 3200 DraftKings 4300 DraftStreet 6229 Posey has been pretty pedestrian recently, but what that...

Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for ScoreStreak 6/11/14 DFSR has partnered with ScoreStreak: a new, innovative style of DFS play. You'll like it as much as we do.   Total Bases David Ortiz Our system has David Ortiz ranked as far and away the #1 option for total bases tonight, and for good reason. Since 2013, Ortiz has a .417 wOBA and .285 ISO vs. right-handed pitchers. Tonight he’ll be facing Josh Tomlin. Tomlin has been decent this year and has only a .261 wOBA vs. left-handed batters, however, when he does give up hits to them, it’s usually as home run as evidenced by his very-high 1.71 HR/9 innings to LHB. I think Ortiz is in a good spot to homer today, and with the short slate tonight, Ortiz is a solid option for total bases. Edwin Encarnacion E5 has been crushing the ball since early May, and tonight squares off against Kevin Gausman. Since 2013, Encarnacion has been an elite hitter vs. right-handed pitchers as evidenced by his .396 wOBA and .292 ISO vs. them. Gausman is a highly-ranked prospect and has shown flashes of brilliance in his brief major league career, however he does give up a .325 wOBA and 1.82 HR/9 to RHB since 2013, but note that this is a pretty small sample size. As I noted in my picks yesterday, inexperienced pitchers are more prone to make mistake pitches or hang pitches, and more times than not, elite hitters like Encarnacion deposit those mistake pitches into the seats. Jose Bautista would be my 2A today for all of the same reasons I like Encarnacion today, so it really comes down to a matter of preference between the two of them.   Hits Robinson Cano Cano has made a living hitting vs. right-handed pitchers, especially right-handed pitchers like Chase Whitley, who he’ll be...

If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out.   Pitchers A note on the big boys: Scherzer and Sale are facing each other, and both Detroit and the White Sox have decent offenses. I'm not touching either. Zack Greinke FanDuel 9900 DraftKings 11600 DraftStreet 20202 Greinke has been back in Cy Young form this year, much to the chagrin of Doug and I's Scoresheet team, who smugly traded him away after last year's "lucky" performance. He'll face the Reds and the terrible pitcher Alfredo Simon. The Reds are the 2nd worst run scoring team in the majors this season behind only the Padres. Hard to think of a better spot for an elite pitcher, though you can ding him slightly for the park. Jeff Samardzija FanDuel 7700 DraftKings 8900 DraftStreet 17259 Aside from one blow-up against the Brewers, Samardzija has been phenomenal this year. The lack of wins is an anomaly, and nothing to be concerned about other than the fact that the Cubs are a lower tier running scoring team. The good news is that they'll face Edinson Volquez, a pitcher who is bad and easy to score runs off of. How is that for analysis? Wade Miley FanDuel 6200 DraftKings 7800 DraftStreet 14906 Want to a little bit off board with me for a second? With a bunch of expensive hitters available today, I'm going to throw out at least 1 Wade Miley lineup today. His xFIP is a full run below his ERA, the Astros are awful, and he will be away from his nasty home park. The Astros are the 3rd worst run scoring team in the AL, and they are trotting out the incredibly ragged arm of Scott Feldman. With 26 Ks and 17 walks in 56 innings, the Diamondbacks offense is going to rattle all over him, or something. Also considered: Jon Lester, Roenis Elias, Kyle Lohse Catcher Carlos Ruiz FanDuel 2400 DraftKings 3900 DraftStreet 4298 Awesome match-up for Ruiz, who handles left handed pitching very well, and...
