Pitchers Chris Sale FanDuel 9900 DraftKings 11000 DraftStreet 24197 I know Kershaw is going today, but the Coors effect has me off that super stud just for today. His price is way too high considering he'll be pitching in the mile high air. Sale has no such concern. He faces a Mariner team ranking near the bottom of the league with a .292 wOBA. Sale's put up fantastic numbers this season with about a 5:1 K:BB ratio while striking out more than a batter an inning. The xFIP is under three and while he isn't cheap, I think the upside is for sure there even at his expensive salaries. Gerrit Cole FanDuel 7900 DraftKings 9200 DraftStreet 16888 His first outing back after coming off the disabled list was less than stellar as he faced the lowly Mets offense and couldn't make it through five innings. I'm looking for a bounceback today against the even worse Phillies. They rank second to last in the league in wOBA against righties and are just a weak hitting bunch in general. Cole's season xFIP is in the mid 3's and he strikes out about a batter an inning. I wish he could limit the walks a little more allowing him to go longer in his outings. But the matchup is choice and I think once Cole knocks the DL cobwebs are off he should be good to go. Lance Lynn FanDuel 7400 DraftKings 8400 DraftStreet 15555 Oh my goodness the Marlins strike out a lot. They K 24% of the time against righties and even though they power is there more than some bottom-feeding teams, I love targeting pitchers in situations where they can rack up the whiffs as a way to limit the downside from any potential offense the opposing team puts together. Lynn has been solid this season though he can be a bit hit or miss. When he breaks, he break bad. The last game was a disaster although it...

New users who deposit through DFSR will get an extra $10 to play with. We are putting in picks every night and giving you some of our top plays each day. Two are on us, the third is all you. Also be sure to sign up for a free 3-day trial to access the MLB system and spreadsheets that help produce our picks. And give ScoreStreak a try. You'll like it as much as we do. Total Bases Dodger's Righties Yup, big old blanket statement coming here again, but how do you get away from Coors when Jorge de la Rosa is on the mound? Just doesn't seem prudent. Guys like Hanley Ramirez, Yasiel Puig and Matt Kemp are all in play again in this one. I know last night was something of a disappointment for those (like me) looking for a hit and home run barrage from this group. But today's another day and the atmosphere around Denver didn't change overnight. Put these guys in your total bases slots for sure. Hits Daniel Murphy Really like Murphy's chance of collecting some hits today against Nick Tepesch whose K rate is among the lowest you'll see in the class of starting pitchers. Murphy doesn't walk much or strike out to any great degree. When trying to forecast hits these are a few of the metrics to look at as it puts the expectation higher for him to have the bat on the ball. He's also a guy who flies off many a radar meaning you can grab some separation when he takes the wide turn at first after collecting another single. Jacobty Ellsbury The ballpark and speed are a key here. The wide alleys and Ellsbury's wheels make him a nice value against Kyle Gibson who isn't as bad as first blush but still can't really get anyone out through a swing and miss. It's this latter part that has me even higher on Ells as when the ball's in play he can make things happen with his legs. Strikeouts Chris Sale The Mariners must hate seeing lefties on the schedule. Don't you hate waiting for the inevitable...

If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out. Pitchers Short slate going today. Will give a few value plays you can hone in on for the day. Madison Bumgarner FanDuel 9400 DraftKings 9800 DraftStreet 18677 A lot of aces going today which makes it so you are going to need to fade a few of them at least. Darvish and Tanaka are probably priced almost to the breaking point and Darvish in particular has a rough matchup in a bad ballpark. Tanaka is a little closer considering the Twins have lagged in offense lately and park is built for pitchers. I can make a case for him for sure. But I think I am going to go with Bumgarner here as he is priced below the top tier of dudes and has a great matchup against the Cardinals who rank 21st in the league in team wOBA against lefties. Bumgarner is just steady Eddie, keeping the K's consistent limiting the walks enough to go later into games. Matt Shoemaker FanDuel 6600 DraftKings 6800 DraftStreet 14064 There is a crazy deal going on this guy today. Let others be fooled by his 4.50 ERA while they don't see the low 3's xFIP and about a strikeout an inning. He keeps the walks low and really has been kind of awesome this season to date. The Astros are significantly worse against righties while striking out 24% of the time. Shoemaker makes a great second pitcher where applicable and honestly you can consider rolling him solo on FanDuel. Strongly consider Masahiro Tanaka Catchers Miguel Montero FanDuel 3200 DraftKings 4000 DraftStreet 6227 I don't love the ballpark as PNC plays more for pitchers than hitters. But Montero has a solid matchup against a run hot Vance Worley and Miguel is much, much, much (and I could probably keep going there) better against righties than lefties. Consider the 141 to 7 differences in wRC+. 7! That's as low as I've seen from an everyday position player. But alas, it matters not...

If you're interested, here are today's daily picks: Check em out. Pitchers Johnny Cueto FanDuel 10300 DraftKings 11000 DraftStreet 24001 Doesn't take a genius to make this pick. But this genius will anyway. Cueto is crazy expensive today, but the reasoning behind playing him is there. The Padres are otherworldly bad, rnaking dead last by a huge margin in team wOBA against righties. Their .268 mark is almost twenty points behind the next closest team. Cueto hasn't been as good as his sub two ERA would suggest, with the xFIP coming in more than a run behind. But this also isn't the game a guy regresses. His nearly 4:1 K: BB rate is solid and the park is a pitcher's dream. Great cash game play today. Julio Teheran FanDuel 9200 DraftKings 10000 DraftStreet 23200 I haven't been a big believer in Teheran, thinking some of his early season success was a bit smoke and mirrors. What is a real thing is his crazy low walk rate that allows him to pitch late into games. This helps boost those game-to-game strikeout numbers. The Mets are in the bottom five in the league in team OPS against righties and I think Teheran should be able to go deep in this one against a sputtering offense. Cole Hamels FanDuel 9000 DraftKings 10600 DraftStreet 20256 This is if you are looking for some big K upside on the day. The Marlins strikeout nearly a quarter of the time against lefties and the ballpark should definitely help Hamels today. Hamels, when not dealing with injury, is one of the steadier pitchers in the games and basically gives repeat performances every single season. K's more than a batter an inning. Limits, to some degree, the walks and the xFIP sits consistently in the mid 3's. The Marlins can put the bat on the ball with power, so limit your excitement some. Jake Odorizzi FanDuel 6900 DraftKings 8000 DraftStreet 15336 No one is questioning the strikeout potential. His K/9 sits up there with the best in the...

Total Bases Mike Trout The "No duh" pick of the day. Trout is a heavy favorite in the top slot today because he's Mike Trout and John Danks is John Danks and that's kind of a match made in heaven (if heaven were the Angel Stadium of Anaheim, which would be a cruel twist for everyone hoping for something a little better in the afterlife). Trout has been on a world-crushing tour this summer with an OPS over 1K and close to twenty home runs already. He kills you so many ways and will be one of the top picks in this slot today. Chris Davis This is a little riskier but I like Davis today because of the matchup and the park. He's right there to fill a high total base slot in just one swing. The HR/FB% is a little down for him this season and if you are worried about the K's a gentleman by the name of Miles Mikolas is on the mound today for the Rangers. This dude couldn't strike anyone out at the lower levels. Things don't get easier. Again, if you are looking for safety, go somewhere else. But Davis has big power upside today. Hits Howie Kendrick If you read our daily picks article today you know that we were picking on John Danks. It's no different here. Kendrick is a contact guy and though the K's are there, the expectation for the swing and miss is reduced against Danks. Honestly, there are a bunch of righty Angels that would fit this slot today. No way to go wrong really. I'll take Kendrick but also really consider Aybar. Ryan Braun Ever heard of him? Like...
