Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for ScoreStreak 9/20/14 DFSR has partnered with ScoreStreak: a new, innovative style of DFS play. Gone is the salary finagling, mixing and matching, and hair-pulling that goes into setting lineups. ScoreStreak simplifies the process in an easy-to-use interface. Employing a prop-pick style, ScoresStreak leagues are specific outcome dependent with three categories: Total Bases, Hits, and for pitchers, Strikeouts. Also, new users who deposit through DFSR will get an extra $10 to play with.  And if you are new to daily fantasy football, make sure read our Free Football e-book. Also be sure to sign up for a free 3-day trial to access the MLB and NFL system and spreadsheets that help produce our picks. And give ScoreStreak a try. You'll like it as much as we do. Now go win that Tesla!   Total Bases Edwin Encarnacion Encarnacion has been in beast mode when he's been healthy this season, and popped another homer last night. Tonight he'll get to feast at Cafe Capuano. While Capuano is having a fine season by his standards, he is basically a league average pitcher at his absolute best. Encarnacion has a wOBA that's .23 points higher against lefties, and hitting in Yankee Stadium is a delightful place for anyone to hit. Justin Morneau Morneau has utterly slammed right handed pitching this year, and now he gets to take on Trevor Cahill and his 5.38 ERA in Coors Field. I'm making that motion where you place all your fingers on your lips and make the kissing noise while exploding your fingers outward.   Hits Erick Aybar Mike Trout With just 15% total strikeouts + walks and a .300 BABIP when balls to get in play, Aybar makes for a great play against the fully declined (and nearly dead) Colby Lewis. Mike Trout, who plays center field for the team, is a pretty good hitter in his own right. If you don't take Trout for total bases, he makes a great hits play as well.   Strikeouts Max Scherzer Ugh, it's really weird to start Scherzer against the team that strikes out the least in the major leagues, but with 237 Ks in 201 IP this year, Scherzer is in a league of his among guys going today. It's hard to imagine punching him in for 9 Ks, but I think he's a great bet for 7. Jordan Zimmermann It's a weird day for strike outs. Zimmermann gets the nod here ahead of other guys with a higher K/9 than he has because of the match up. The Marlins strike out with the 3rd highest frequency of any team in the majors, and if Zimmermann pitches deep into this one, he could put up some...

And try out our partner Scorestreak, and read our exclusive ScoreStreak picks.   Pitchers Jon Lester - FD 7500 DK 8700 DD 15500 DFSTR 7200 Our projection system actually likes both Teheran and Wheeler tonight - so it makes some sense to run a few lineups of each and see who comes up with a win. Both Atlanta and the Mets strike out a ton, and both Wheeler and Teheran are capable of a big strikeout night. If you're leaving it up to me, I'll take Teheran simply because he's the better pitcher and the Mets are the worse offense. The Braves strike out more, so one could argue Wheeler has more upside, but I think both are capable of a solid return tonight.   Catchers Salvador Perez - FD 2300 DK 3500 DD 6750 DFSTR 3000 While he hasn't flashed it recently, Perez's 16 homers this season shows that he is actually capable of delivering some upside. Verlander is a shell of his former self, and Perez has been solidly a reverse-platoon split player this year (meaning he's been quite a bit better against righties than lefties). I'm not penciling him in for a bomb or anything, but on these low prices he could absolutely deliver value. Jonathan Lucroy - FD 3000 DK 4100 DD 9500 DFSTR 6700 Lucroy is essentially a superstar at the catcher position. He's relatively platoon neutral, and going up against Locke's pitch to contact approach plays right into Lucroy's high-contact high batting average approach. Wilson Ramos - FD 2600 DK 3700 DD 8950 DFSTR 6600 While it's tempting to think of Ramos as a no-upside guy, he has hit 2 homers in his last three games. Koehler's 4.18 xFIP speaks more to...

Now go win that Tesla!   Total Bases Mike Trout OOooooooh! The world's best hitter against someone named "Lisalverto Bonilla!!" Honestly, I don't need to know anything about the guy to recommend Trout without hesitation here. If he makes a mistake around the plate, and he should make more than one, Trout will be all over it. Michael Cuddyer Doug wrote this yesterday: Coors? Check. Crappy lefty on the mound in Vidal Nuno who gets raked by righty bats? Yup. Great platoon splits for Cuddyer against lefties? You got it. In love? I dare say that I am. Cuddyer has a small sample size of utter dominance against lefties this season and has been much better against them for his career. I've got him going in all formats today and total bases will be one of them. Here's what's changaed - Chase Anderson is actually a legitimate pitcher. But Cuddyer has been serviceable against righties as well, and again, dude - Coors! Coors!   Hits Robinson Cano It feels like we've given you Cano every time he's faced a righty this season. And frankly, it's paid off for you. Cano has devastated right handed pitchers this season - and on this lovely night he happens to face one of the worst of them. Brad Peacock has racked up a startling 64 BBs in his 123 innings pitched this year. And what I love about Cano here is that he couldn't care less about walking. That means that if Peacock is anywhere near the plate, we'll have a chance to see a little Cano laser show. Adrian Beltre Speaking of guys who can crush opposite handed pitchers, oh, gypsy. Beltre is batting a clean .350 this season against left handed pitching. Hector Santiago has gotten plenty lucky with his ERA this year, and his 103 Ks against 50 walks speak more to his inability to control the ball around the zone.   Strikeouts Jon LesterLester has a K per...

Now go win that Tesla!   Total Bases Nelson Cruz Adam Jones I love picking on some J.A. Happ. It of course isn't a full-proof system as Happ does turn in a solid game every once in a while. But Cruz and Jones have spent the better part of this season tagging lefties and down. They are both rocking wOBAs over .400 on that side of the platoon this season and each has OPS near the top of the lefty splits leader board. Happ, for his career, is worse against righties (opposite this season) and Camden Yards is about a good as it gets for boosting righty power. I love the idea of stacking them in the total bases category especially in the six-man ScoreStreak leagues.   Hits Victor Martinez Any time V-Mart squares up against a pitcher with a low K rate I sit up and take notice. When that pitcher is a righty, all the better. See Martinez is nearly impossible for righties to strike out. His 6.1 K% is about as low as you'll see from any hitter in any split and speaks to his ability to generate contact in nearly all of his plate appearances on that side of the split. Kyle Gibson has no K stuff to speak of and Martinez is in a great spot for hits tonight. Jose Reyes Hitting at the top of the lineup on a day that should see the Blue Jays put up some runs. I like Reyes against Bud Norris because the former isn't too terribly interested in taking walks, doesn't strike out a ton, and should see an extra plate appearance today if the Jays can get to Norris early. Strikeouts David Price If I'm trying to hit the nine K mark I rolling Price out there today. Sale has a matchup against the Royals that's less than ideal considering their strike out rate. But Price is matched up with the Twin who K more...

Here are my thoughts. Corey Kluber - FD 7700 DK 8900 DD 14850 DFSTR 6000 If you're underwhelmed by the idea of paying top dollar for a pitcher today, why not consider Ian Kennedy? The guy has more than a K per inning this year, and he's pitching in the league's greatest pitcher's park. The Phillies have the 9th worst strike out rate in the league this year, and their wOBA is second lowest behind Kennedy's own woe-begotten Padres. Getting a win is always a concern for Padres pitchers, but Kennedy has arguably as much upside as the top two guys for a fraction of the price. Jake Peavy...
