Pitchers Corey Kluber - FD 6500 DK 7000 DD 12600 DFSTR 4700 Can consider him here mostly because the Padres have been consistent in their garbage-ness all season. Really any pitcher is a good value against them because they resemble that team in your slow pitch softball league that was just thrown together at the last minute because the guys just “wanted to have fun,” and “didn’t care about winning or anything.” Consider Drew Hutchison in GPPs Catchers Jonathan Lucroy - FD 2800 DK 4000 DD 8850 DFSTR 4500 Erik Jokisch doesn’t appear to the be the type of loser usually making starts for bad teams at this time of year. He actually was able to produce outs in the minors. And his time out of the pen has been productive for the Cubs in limited run. But Lucroy’s been solid against lefties for his career and has an .825 OPS this season with a lower K rate. He’s a tough out sitting near the top of the order. Not many other catchers can say that. Salvador Perez - FD 2200 DK 3300 DD 6650 DFSTR 3000 Perez is average against righties, but Hector Noesi’s been absolutely blitzed by righties this season, to the tune of a .368 wOBA. Yikes. Get on Noesi’s reverse splits whenever possible here especially considering U.S. Cellular is a fantastic hitter’s park. Consider Stephen Vogt First Basemen Freddie Freeman - FD 3000 DK 4300 DD 9750 DFSTR 4400 Jerome Williams has allowed a .345 wOBA to lefty bats this season to go along with an OPS climbing towards .800. Great news for Freddie Freeman who’s been one of...

Pitchers Max Scherzer - FD 8000 DK 8900 DD 15850 DFSTR 8300 Now, if you do wind up feeling spooked by Scherzer's sticker-shock price tags, I'm taking hard look at Gio. He's been cruising along with his K per inning stuff this season, and he draws a terrific match-up in the New York Mets. The Mets are a middle of the road team when it comes to striking out, but have the league's 3rd worst wOBA this season. If you decide to go Zack Wheeler from this match-up, you're basically taking a younger and slightly less polished version of Gio himself. Flip a coin and decide who you think will win this one, and choose them! James Shields...
Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for ScoreStreak 9/25/14
Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks for ScoreStreak 9/25/14 DFSR has partnered with ScoreStreak: a new, innovative style of DFS play. Gone is the salary finagling, mixing and matching, and hair-pulling that goes into setting lineups. ScoreStreak simplifies the process in an easy-to-use interface. Employing a prop-pick style, ScoresStreak leagues are specific outcome dependent with three categories: Total Bases, Hits, and for pitchers, Strikeouts. Also, new users who deposit through DFSR will get an extra $10 to play with. And if you are new to daily fantasy football, make sure read our Free Football e-book. Also be sure to sign up for a free 3-day trial to access the MLB and NFL system and spreadsheets that help produce our picks. And give ScoreStreak a try. You'll like it as much as we do. Total Bases Miguel Cabrera Miggy prefers left handed pitching, but what he really prefers is plain bad pitching. He'll be facing some of that in Trevor May. I don't want to give away May's most outrageous stat, but I'll start you by saying he's given up 54 hits in 39 innings this year. Oh man, can't wait for the big reveal! Freddie Freeman Not a classic total bases play, but I actually love Freeman in the 2nd slot for his doubles potential. With 64 doubles+triples+homers, Freeman is as likely as anyone to rack up 2 total bases or more when facing a right handed pitcher. At this stage in his career, Volquez is essentially a pitch to contact guy. I'm feeling Freeman. Hits Victor Martinez Ian Kinsler So, it's the end of baseball season, and your eyes are beginning to glaze over. You're tempted to be wooed into the relatively easier schedule of daily fantasy football season, and try to make your millions playing this crazy game just once a week. You might miss a thing or two, you know, here or there. Here's a thing you may have missed: Trevor May has literally an 8.39 ERA this season. That is to say, he is giving up almost a full run per inning. So, that strikes me as a good guy to stack hitters against. Just a hunch. Strikeouts Max Scherzer Sometimes, you have to set match-up aside and just go for the big guns. The big guns in this case belong to one Maximum-Maximillian-Maximus Scherzer. So, the Twins aren't a terrible offense necessarily, but they do strike out the 8th most in the league. This should Scherzer a chance to shake what his momma gave him, and he's by far the closest thing we have to a "good bet" to hit the 9 Ks threshold. Gio Gonzalez Gio continues to hum along at a K per inning, and while the Mets are essentially league...

Pitchers Early Games Phil Hughes - FD 7700 DK 8600 DD 14350 DFSTR 6200 He's so hit or miss, but I like him against a Red Sox squad that is just playing anyone that can put on a uniform and get to the ballpark on time. Odorizzi's got the K stuff to put up big numbers at this price. His issue is command. I'm less worried about that today against a young and weaker Sox team even if the game is in Fenway. Consider Gio Gonzalez Catchers Early Games Derek Norris - FD 2300 DK 3300 DD 7050 DFSTR 4300 Really nothing has changed from when I recommended him yesterday against LeBlanc. Hector Santiago is better, but not by much as he's allowed a .750 wOBA to righty hitters this season. Norris has hit lefties well all season and getting a middle of the order catcher at punt prices on the better side of his split is too good to pass up. Late Games Mike Zunino - FD 2400 DK 3300 DD 7200 DFSTR 4500 Even with an insane K rate, Zunino still has an 111 wRC+ against lefties this season. I like him against a guy like Mark Buehrle who's own K/9 is right around five. If we can lower the expectation of Zunino's biggest he starts to look like a nice punt play value in a hitter's park. Catcher is tougher in the late slate so I'm fine spending nothing and moving on. Consider Jarrod Saltalamacchia First Basemen Early Games Jose Abreu - FD 3700 DK 4800 DD 12200 DFSTR 4700 Verlander's been a bit better of late, but I'm still...
