Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race Bristol Motor Speedway - Bristol, TN Track - .533 mile Oval Short Track 24° to 30° of Banking This week the Monster Energy Cup Series heads to Bristol Motor Speedway for one of the most anticipated races of the year, the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race on Saturday. If you thought tempers were starting to flare up before, just wait until Saturday night where they will have to race door to door, bumper to bumper for 500 laps. Adding to the pressure once again is the Playoff bubble with just three races remaining in the regular season so before we get into this week, let's take a look at the drivers with the most to gain or lose here at the Worlds Fastest Half-Mile. 11th - Aric Almirola(645 pts) 12th - William Byron(642 pts) 13th - Kyle Larson(624 pts) 14th - Erik Jones(623 pts) 15th - Ryan Newman(569 pts) 16th - Clint Bowyer(559 pts) 17th - Jimmie Johnson(547 pts) 18th - Paul Menard(506 pts) From a fantasy perspective, this is most definitely a dominator race with 500 laps on a half-mile track and we have seen at least two drivers lead 100 or more laps in eight straight races here at Bristol. There has also been at least three drivers to 50 or more laps in each of the last five races as well. Passing is projected to be tough as Bristol Motor Speedway has laid down PJ1 on the bottom groove multiple times already this weekend and have also ground down some of the rubber on the top in an effort to create a one-lane track at the bottom. Old school Bristol baby! With that said, combined with the unofficial qualifying this afternoon, I am projecting five or fewer drivers picking up double-digit place differential. Last Six Winners at Bristol 2019(1) - Kyle Busch(started 17th, led 71 laps) 2018(2) - Kurt Busch(started 9th, led 24 laps) 2018(1) - Kyle Busch(started 1st, led...

Food City 500 Bristol Motor Speedway - Bristol, TN Track - .533 Mile Oval Short Track 24°-30° of Banking in Turns This week the Monster Energy Cup Series heads to the World's Fastest Hal-Mile, Bristol Motor Speedway. It is the second short track race of the season but like I mentioned in the Martinsville writeup, all three short tracks are very different. Bristol is a high-banked half mile with a ton of speed and likely even more this week with the new rear spoiler. As for the rest of the rules package, it is the same as years past with the 750 HP setup. For fantasy, it is all about dominator points. There were three drivers in each race last year to lead 100 laps and at least two in six straight here at Bristol. Place differential can be had here with more passing than say Martinsville. Over the last six races here, five times there have been seven or more drivers pick up double-digit place differential in a race here. With that, let's jump in and take a look at some trends and top picks for the race. Last Six Winners at Bristol Kurt Busch(started 9th, led 24 laps) Kyle Busch(started 1st, 117 laps) Kyle Busch(started 18th, led 156 laps) Jimmie Johnson(started 11th, led 81 laps) Kevin Harvick(started 24th, led 128 laps) Carl Edwards(started 1st, led 276 laps) Track History at Bristol Kurt Busch won the night race here last year but he has been far from consistent here at Bristol. He has just five Top 10's in his 15 races here with six finishes outside the Top 20. For his career, however, he is second among active drivers with six wins. First on the career win list here at Bristol is brother Kyle Busch who has seven wins and a whopping 2.232 laps led, 683 more than any other driver. His most recent wins at the track came here at this race last year and the night race in 2017. Like...

Food City 500 Bristol Motor Speedway - Bristol, TN Track - .533 Mile Short Track After four straight races finishing inside the Top 3, Kyle Busch finally broke through with his first win of the season last week at Texas. He led 116 laps scoring 117 DraftKings points and overtook Kevin Harvick with an average of 71.9 DK points per race this season. He also picked up 59 series points to extend his lead over Joey Logano by 38 points and is locked into the playoffs. He now heads to a track where he has tallied a career-high six wins. This week the Monster Energy Cup Series travels to the Last Great Coliseum, Bristol Motor Speedway, for the Food City 500 this Sunday. It is the second short track race of the season but the length is really the only similarity between Martinsville and Bristol. While the Martinsville is a flat track shaped like a paperclip, Bristol is a giant bowl shape with 24 to 30 degrees of banking and in past years they have added a compound to the track that has opened up a second lane to help produce more passing. This is not your father's Bristol, that's for sure. From a fantasy perspective, dominator points will be key when building your core driver list. The race consists of 500 laps and there have been two drivers to lead 100 or more laps in five straight races with one driver leading 200 or more laps in four straight races. There have also been three or more drivers to lead 50 or more laps in two straight and four of the last six races here at Bristol. Place differential is also something to pay attention to this week as there have been six or more drivers who have picked up double-digit place differential in five of the last six races with a whopping 16 in the Spring of 2015. With that said, let's take a look at some of the NASCAR trends and then some pre-qualifying targets. Last Six Winners at Bristol Motor Speedway 2017 Summer - Kyle Busch(started...
