With the MLB playoffs underway and football in full swing, we’re into the best time of the year for sports fans. We have a solid Saturday NBA slate on our hands tonight with plenty to look through. At point guard, we have a ton of guys that deserve attention. On the high-end, Simmons, Lillard and Wall are all in good spots. We just have some cheaper options that have ludicrous price tags. With that said, if you have the funds, don’t go out of your way to avoid the studs. We’ll kick things off with Jamal Murray, who’s playing in the second highest total game of the night between the Nuggets and Suns. The Nuggets are favored by 10 and hold an implied total of 117, giving plenty of room for everyone to get their work. In game 1, Murray faced off with Patrick Beverley and the slow-pace Clippers. He has a good excuse for a dud of a performance. Tonight, there is no such excuse. The Suns play fast and the don’t play a lick of defense. Murray is going to breakout this season and this game should start it all. At such a ridiculous price, he’s a guy I’m willing to run in all formats in this match-up. Isaiah Canaan FD - $4300 DK - $4200Opponent - DENProj Pts FD - 29.79 DK - 30.42 If you’ve watched Suns basketball yet this season, it’s obvious why Isaiah Canaan is starting. He’s the perfect point guard for Devin Booker. He’s still capable of running the offense and creating a shot, but he’s just fine sitting in the corner and letting Booker do his magic. He also loves to run and fits right in with what the Suns want from this offense. He contributed across the board in his first start with 8 points, 6 boards, and 7 assists. He should play 30+ minutes a night as a starter, and I don’t see how you can pass that up against Denver. All three of these guys are rock...

Shabazz Napier only picked up 27 minutes with Lillard out last time, but the game was a blowout and Napier wasn’t needed. You can project him for 30 minutes if the game stays close. C.J. McCollum will also take an extra 5-10 shots and could play some point guard, leading to Connaughton grabbing 20-25 minutes. All in all, Napier and McCollum are the targets. DeMarre Carroll has been ruled out against the Bucks The Nets have a ton of bodies to run and expect them all to see an extra three or four minutes. That includes Caris LeVert, Joe Harris, and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. RHJ and LeVert are playable against a weak Bucks defense, but neither will see crazy minutes or usage. Every Lineup Guys Shabazz Napier FD - $3500 DK - $5300Opponent - HOUProj Pts FD - 15.85 DK - 15.88 There isn’t all that much news today. With Lillard out, Napier will have a hard time missing value at near-minimum. He’s safe in all formats and close to a must in my opinion. He will see 27 minutes as a worst-case scenario. He still hits value in that case and you’re perfectly fine. His ceiling is 40+ and he projects around 30. In those cases, it’s a huge uphill battle if you fade. Chris Paul isn’t the best match-up in the world, but I expect him to move over and cover McCollum, who’ll have the ball in his hands just as much. What We Know Terry Rozier has been ruled out against the Bucks What We're Waiting to Know Kevin Love is questionable to play with an illness It’s never a surprise to see Kevin Love on the injury report. I think it’s a fact that he gets sick more than any other player in the history of the NBA. Exaggerating, but he’s always on the report it seems. He’s questionable tonight in a big game ha the Raptors and will open up some opportunity if out. Larry Nance, Jeff Green, and Tristan Thompson would all be candidates for big increases, but I think Nance Jr. fits this match-up best with Serge Ibaka. The Cavs have also shown a willingness to play Jeff Green huge minutes and he makes sense here as well. If Love plays, I don’t have any interest at all in this group of guys. I’ll just stick to LeBron and move along. Michael Beasley is questionable with an illness vs the Magic With Troy Williams already ruled out for an extended period of time, the Knicks could be short-handed tonight. I like Beasley if he plays in all formats. If he’s out, a ton of minutes should go to Lance Thomas. Courtney Lee and Luke Kornet will also pick up a few and Kornet is interesting at the very least. Brook Lopez is questionable to play with back soreness If Lopez plays, you can play him against the Jazz, who you need to have size against. If Lopez is out, Ivica Zubac and Channing Frye are both candidates to see big minutes. I like Zubac a little bit more and he's extremely cheap on both sites. The match-up with the Jazz isn't good, though. Wilson Chandler is questionable to return from his nose injury Chandler remains questionable after missing last game. It’s not hard to figure out what to do if he’s out. Torrey Craig picked up 36 minutes and put up 23 fantasy points. This is only because of the injury to Gary Harris as well, but those minutes are there either way. This match-up against the Pacers is a good one, as they rank 22nd against the position and play extremely fast. Craig would be a phenomenal savings option in...

Point guard Tyler Ulis FD - $4200 DK - $4700Opponent - HOUProj Pts FD - 26.92 DK - 26.96 Isaiah Taylor FD - $4800 DK - $4800Opponent - PHIProj Pts FD - 26.26 DK - 26.24 We kick off point guard with two excellent punt plays that will likely chew up a lot of ownership tonight assuming nothing changes. As of this writing neither of the starters (Schroder and Payton) are confirmed out, but both are considered doubtful. We'll write this up assuming both are going to get the starting spot again. The Suns are in sort of a weird space right now, where they're simultaneously getting blown out constantly but not resting their starters. Ulis has been excellent in both of his last 2 games on these prices, and while I don't know that you can count on 37 minutes it shouldn't matter, even in a game where they are 17.5 point underdogs. As for Taylor, his situation is a little bit different. They're likewise dogs against the Sixers, but not nearly as much so. Taylor has also been filling in very nicely for Schroder, and you can't necessarily extrapolate his season long stats on a per minute basis given his new role in the starting lineup. I don't love paying more for him of course, but expect him to be a chalk cash game play regardless. Russell Westbrook FD - $11400 DK - $11300Opponent - DENProj Pts FD - 57.4 DK - 60.28 Westbrook was a 45% start in FanDuel cash games against the Spurs, so I expect he'll be a good deal higher owned in an excellent match-up with the Nuggets. While the Thunder aren't playing for as much as the Nuggets, you'd never know from the minutes their starters are playing these days. Denver should test them enough to make sure Westbrook gets his minutes, so it's really a question of whether he's still a good value on these prices. He's been on a stretch of pretty bad match-ups recently, and has still paid 5x-6.5x points per dollar in 3 of his last 5. Jamal Murray will likely draw the Russ assignment here, and he's allowed the 5th most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season. Seems like one of the premier big money...

I know it's MLB Opening Day, but there's still a solid NBA slate worth touching on. We have 5 games on the board and each deserves to be looked at. We're going to start in Golden State, where the Warriors will host the Bucks tonight. Durant and Draymond will return tonight, but Curry and Thompson will remain out. That will allow Quinn Cook to pick up his usual 34-38 minutes. He's been extremely consistent since Curry went out and has been over 30 fantasy points in four of the last six games. He was over 40 in two of those. His minutes are as safe as ever with Curry still out and this match-up against the Bucks isn't anything to run away from. Against the point guard position, they rank 20th on the year. His price is still affordable on both sites and the NBA optimizer has him projected at 33 fantasy points. His usage will obviously take a hit with a couple of the big boys back, but he's a strong play in all formats and will be a mainstay in all of my cash games. Cameron Payne FD - $5000 DK - $5500Opponent - MIAProj Pts FD - 28.96 DK - 28.73 We’ll stay in the mid-range with another newcomer to the 2018 scene, Cameron Payne. He hasn’t been very explosive, but the consistency is impressive and the opportunity isn’t going anywhere. He did struggle against the Rockets, but Chris Paul is a tough match-up that I can’t hold against a youngster. Payne should bounce right back tonight against the Heat and grab his usual 26-30 minutes. The Heat are dead average against the position and may be in a tough spot down low with Adebayo out and Whiteside questionable. Payne isn’t going to win you a tournament, but he may afford you someone elsewhere that will. I prefer Cook, but just slightly. Don’t let last game scare you away from Payne. Eric Bledsoe FD - $7500 DK - $7000Opponent - GSProj Pts FD - 37.33 DK - 37.15 On most 5 game slates, Russell Westbrook is being highlighted at point guard. Tonight, we...
