GPP Ownership Pivot Plays for Week 6 on FanDuel and DraftKings
GPP Ownership Pivot Plays for Week 6 on FanDuel and DraftKings Like James and I talked about in the Week 5 Recap Podcast, making one or two ownership pivots in GPP formats has been the key to taking down one of these big contests. Let's dig in and take a look at one of these at each position this week. When analyzing ownership projections, my top source is FanShareSports who compile every piece of relevant DFS content(articles, podcasts, tweets, videos, etc) and put it all together in an easy to read platform showing overall tag counts, start/sit counts, sentiment rating, and so much more. With all that said, let's jump into this week's top pivot plays. Want to see the rest of this article? Go grab a free three day trial of DFSR Pro or DFSR Basic! Loose Ends – Analyzing Cheap TEs in Week 6
Loose Ends - Making Sense of the TE position in Week 6 I've spent more time complaining about the tight end position in the NFL this season than I have about writing about it, so I figured it was time to just dig into this thing. We're coming off a week where Nick Vannett was in the 2nd overall FanDuel Million lineup with a 3 catch for 43 yard performance, and Vance McDonald was a 75% cash game play just because he was cheap. I think it's pretty safe to say that the tight end situation has never been more dire - but that doesn't mean there aren't a few diamonds in the rough out there that we can consider. In my week 6 cash game article I talked about Ertz, Ebron, and Njoku - but where else might we be able to look this week? Want to see the rest of this article? We've got you completely covered. Quarterback Matt Ryan FD 8300 DK 6800 Opponent TB Proj Points FD - 23.76 DK - 24.16 No sport plays tricks on my statistical mind quite like football. You see, football has been back long enough that it seems like we should be looking at a pretty good sample size of games to work with, right? I mean, these teams have played more than a quarter of their games! That's like 50 baseball games, or 25 basketball games! Except, it just isn't. Ultimately, the sample size Gods don't care how long the football season is - 4 or 5 games just isn't many games of something. So you're probably thinking - "This guy went to all this length to tell me we shouldn't trust Matt Ryan's hot start?" Actually, no. I'm here to tell you the opposite. While a four or five game sample won't mean much when it comes to certain metrics, say, receiving yards per game for a wide receiver, it IS enough to tell us a lot about a player's DFS viability. If you're a long-term reader of our site, you'll know that the major thing we consider when it comes to DFS value is simply opportunity - determining how often a player will get to contribute and how good his opponent is will tell you a whole lot about whether you should consider him or not. In the case of Ryan, all signs are pointing in a positive direction. For most of Ryan's career, he topped 600 attempts per season, but in the last two years he averaged just 532 (or about 33 attempts per game). For whatever reason, the Falcons went away from the Ryan/Julio combo and decided to lean on their two-headed running attack. With Freeman hurt to start the season, Ryan came out with guns blazing, and importantly, those guns stayed blazing with Freeman's return last week. So far, Ryan has...
Daily Fantasy Football Top Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 6 – 10/14/18
Daily Fantasy Football Top Stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 6 - 10/14/18 Welcome back football fans. Week six brings us three games with totals over 50, four with totals over 48, and a whopping five of 43 or lower. What this could create is some high ownership on the top teams so getting as many combinations as possible of the stacks you choose is very important. To help yourself separate in GPP formats, you can always find one or two low owned pivots and I will cover a few of these in my ownership pivot article on Saturday morning. With that said, let's dive into my top two stacks of the week. Want to see the rest of this article? Go grab a free three day trial of DFSR Pro or DFSR Basic! Tampa Bay Buccaneers Quarterback - Jameis Winston Primary Target - Mike Evans Secondary Targets - Cameron Brate This week I am once again starting with a filter combination in the player Lab of high game totals with a thin spread. On the main slate, this produced two results and four quarterbacks. While I started with a game stack last week in the Steelers/Falcons game, I am going to go in a bit of a different direction this week. Don't get me wrong, I will definitely be game-stacking these extremely high-scoring games but I love the price and PTS/$ on Winston compared to these other quarterbacks helping us get to one or even two elite running backs that saw big price increases. The Bucs are coming off a bye week which is good news for Winston who will be making his first start of the season after serving a suspension. He did come into the game in week four in relief of Ryan Fitzpatrick and against arguably the best defense in the league in the Chicago Bears, he completed 16 of 20 passes(80%) for 145 yards despite two interceptions. I fully expect the rust to be shaken off and this week he gets a much better matchup against a banged-up Atlanta defense that has seen injuries to key players in Deion Jones at linebacker, Ricardo Allen at corner, and Keanu Neal at safety. Through five games, the Falcons have allowed the 9th most passing yards per game(277.2) and the 3rd most fantasy points per game to the quarterback position. When multi-entering a contest, I always love to create as many combinations of my top stacks as possible so that when they go off you have a much better shot at hitting the nuts and...
