Lamar Jackson hasn’t been anywhere close to what we saw from the electrifying quarterback in 2019. There’s been a steep drop-off this season in the passing yards even though the efficiency has been relatively in the same range. The TDs aren’t keeping pace either, though those numbers were definitely due to regress some from what we saw. Where he’s way behind last season is the rushing yards. Last season he was averaging more than 80 yards per game, but this season it’s only around 52. But that’s ticked up to 71/5 yards per game over the last four and this week he gets a bottom-third defense in the Tennessee Titans. It’s also a big-time pace-up matchup with the Titans allowing the second most opponent plays per game, trailing only Seattle. If there’s a breakout spot for Jackson, this looks like it. We aren’t getting him at any kind of huge discount, but the price has dropped since the beginning of the season. Justin Herbert FD 8500 DK 6800 Opponent NYJProj Points FD - 22.32 DK - 23.43 Since taking over for Tyros Taylor in Week 2, Herbert has been nothing short of fantastic from a fantasy perspective. In fact, in that time span he ranks as QB5 in raw fantasy scoring behind only Murray, Allen, Mahomes and Wilson. That’s such an impressive list and is nothing short of amazing considering he wasn’t even the starter Week 1 and it took a punctured lung to get him in there. The accuracy is decent at 67% but he’s getting it done in the red zone through the air with 19 passing touchdowns as well as on the ground with three rushing TDs. This week the Chargers get the garbage Jets who rank 29th overall in defensive DVOA and dead last against the pass. Herbert’s price has come up for good reason, but he’s still very much a play here in a choice matchup. Alex Smith FD 6600 DK 5300 Opponent CINProj Points FD - 16.78 DK - 17.66 If looking for a cheaper play, especially on DraftKings the hero story of Alex Smith could be a place to turn. Two years from nearly losing his leg and his...

Quarterbacks Kyler Murray FD 8800 DK 8000 Opponent BUFProj Points FD - 25.92 DK - 26.73 Through eight games, Kyler Murray is currently the NFL leader in per game FanDuel scoring and is second for DraftKings behind only Russell Wilson. He leads all quarterbacks in rushing yards this season with 543 which ranks him eighth overall. He has 74 more yards than the next-closest signal-caller (Lamar Jackson) and his rushing touchdowns rank him third overall. It’s the gains on the ground which make up for him not throwing for a tremendous amount of yards or touchdowns through the air so far. But no matter. If he’s going to average 9.5 runs per game then the fantasy floor remains very high. This game projects to be a shootout with the 56 over/under the highest of any game on the week. The Bills’ defense ranks in the bottom third this season and they allow the 11th-most opponent plays per game. It’s hard to see Murray not paying this price. Aaron Rodgers FD 8400 DK 7900 Opponent JAXProj Points FD - 21.58 DK - 22.08 It’s going to be very enticing to run a full Packers game stack in cash on Sunday’s main slate. They are big (-14) home favorites against the woeful Jacksonville Jaguars and their bottom-feeding defense. Rodgers is coming just a bit cheaper than Murray on both sites. Unlike Murray, Rodgers has done his damage through the air this season with 24 touchdowns to just two interceptions. And over the last three games with his preferred target, DaVante Adams back and fully healthy Rodgers has thrown for 11 TDs, zero interceptions, and completed 71% of his passes. Jacksonville allows a whopping 8.4 yards per pass attempt this season, last in the league with no real hope of getting better. Grabbing as much Green Bay offense as you can this week is going to look like the right move. Daniel Jones FD 6700 DK 5200 Opponent PHIProj Points FD - 17.81 DK - 18.55 If looking to go a little cheaper on DraftKings, Danny Dimes could represent a way to cut some costs on this slate. Now let’s not kid ourselves, Jones isn’t all that good at throwing the ball. He is completing only 62% of his passes and has more interceptions (9) than touchdowns (8). But...

Quarterbacks Deshaun Watson FD 8300 DK 7100 Opponent JAXProj Points FD - 24.52 DK - 25.36 The Texans’ season hasn’t gone exactly to plan which is something of an understatement. They are 1-6, have already fired their coach/GM and there’s not a lot of hope on the horizon. But there is reason to suspect Watson can put up points in this matchup. He’s getting to face the worst defense in football in the Jacksonville Jaguars who rank 32nd overall and 32nd against the pass as well. This is the dream matchup for Watson who has been (fantasy-wise) awesome since O’Brien exited. Over the last four games, Watson is averaging 326 passing yards and 2.75 passing touchdowns per while also getting out for 25 yards on the ground. He’s right back to being one of the elite fantasy quarterbacks, something we didn’t see over the first few weeks of the season. Considering how bad the Jaguars are on D, this would be a tough fade in cash games. Kyler Murray FD 8600 DK 7800 Opponent MIAProj Points FD - 23.78 DK - 24.55 To be clear, I think Watson is the clear choice for cash games this week considering the matchup and just what he’s been able to do under the coaching regime. That being said, I think there’s going to be enough value elsewhere to almost have to pay up for one of these top-tier quarterback options. Murray definitely fits that bill this week. On the season, he’s the second overall FanDuel points-per-game scorer and gets it done in every phase of the game. He leads all quarterbacks in rushing yards (437) and rushing touchdowns (7) which helps make up for being merely middle of the pack when it comes to passing touchdowns. Miami has been an above-average defense on the season and is much better against the pass which gives Watson the matchup edge this week. But Murray has as high a floor as any player in the game right now and has been remarkably consistent to start the season. Justin Herbert FD 7900 DK 6800 Opponent LVProj Points FD - 21.1 DK - 22.13 Again, just to reiterate, I don’t want to pivot too hard off of Watson. But if you are looking for a slightly different direction to go at a bit of...

START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterbacks Russell Wilson FD 8700 DK 7800 Opponent SFProj Points FD - 23.83 DK - 24.31 From a fantasy perspective, Russell Wilson has a couple of things going for him right now. First and foremost, he’s incredible. That’s the most important thing. But not too far behind is that because Seattle’s defense is an absolute sieve, he’ll always have a chance to keep his foot on the gas in the offense. Wilson is the number one per game DraftKings’ scoring player on the season so far, leading Kyler Murray by about 2.5 per. He’s also been remarkably consistent with the lowest coefficient of variation of anyone in the top group. The issue this week is the matchup against the Rams isn’t exactly ideal considering they allow the third-fewest opponent plays per game and have a top-10 defense. But the position is a bit problematic for a variety of reasons this week and you get so much safety with Russ. Ryan Tannehill FD 7500 DK 6800 Opponent CINProj Points FD - 21.13 DK - 21.93 It’s funny to say, but through six games this season, Tannehill is a Top-7 DraftKings per-game quarterback, even edging out Aaron Rodgers who is $800 more expensive ($700 on DraftKings). And this week Tannehill is handed one of the better matchups on the main slate against the lowly Bengals. Cincinnati made Baker Mayfield look like an absolute superstar in Week 7. They are a bottom-third defense and worse against the pass on the season. Tannehill has completed 69% of his passes this season with a 15:2 TD: INT rate. Plus, with AJ Brown back and fully healthy Corey Davis, Tannehill has a full complement of weapons. If you don’t want to spend all the way up for Russ, this is the first level pivot down. Derek Carr FD 7300 DK 5500 Opponent CLEProj Points FD - 18.58 DK - 19.21 Don’t look now, but Derek Carr is putting together a nice season. He’s completing 72% of his passes, good for third overall in the league with a respectable 13:2 TD: INT rate. He’s starting to take more shots downfield but is also a good intermediate passer that allows him to stay away from big mistakes. And yet he’s priced as QB19 (out of 22) on DraftKings this week. That is just a...

START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterbacks Deshaun Watson FD 8000 DK 6800 Opponent GBProj Points FD - 22.44 DK - 23.22 Bill O’Brien was fired after Week 4 and that move has had a nearly 1:1 effect on unlocking Watson’s fantasy potential similar to what we saw last season. In the last two games, since the firing, Watson has thrown for 359 and 335 yards respectively while also putting up a combined 51 yards on the ground. He also has seven passing touchdowns in that stretch and is the second-best fantasy quarterback over the last two weeks behind only Ryan Tannehill. The price hasn’t come up enough for the production and this week he faces a sneaky-bad defensive team in the Packers. They rank 30th in DVOA and 25th against the pass. We ran out Watson in cash last week at low ownership to great results. Here’s to running it back this week. Justin Herbert FD 7500 DK 6400 Opponent JAXProj Points FD - 20.27 DK - 21.26 The Jaguars have been the league’s worst defense against the pass this season and little changed after last week. Matthew Stafford didn’t put up huge numbers mostly because he didn’t need to. The game was in hand by halftime with the Lions up by two scores and things rolled downhill afterward. This week we get to take the rookie Herbert against this atrocious defense and it won’t cost all that much for the pleasure. Though he’s 0-4 as a starter, Herbert has still been efficient through the air with a 69% completion percentage and 9:3 TD:INT rate. He’s averaging nearly 300 passing yards per game and has even gotten out and run with four rushing attempts and 14 rushing yards per game. The price is excellent on both sites and even with only four games under his belt, this is still a cash game spot for the rookie. Joe Burrow FD 7100 DK 5500 Opponent CLEProj Points FD - 19.48 DK - 20.49 Kyle Allen FD 6700 DK 5200 Opponent DALProj Points FD - 15.01 DK - 15.79 On DraftKings, where the pricing is tighter, it can often make a lot of sense to really spend down on more speculative quarterbacks in advantageous matchups. That’s the case with these two this week. Burrow comes in as a DraftKings play where he’s QB18 in...

START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterbacks Deshaun Watson FD 8200 DK 7000 Opponent TEN Proj Points FD - 22.48 DK - 23.25 In his first game, post-Bill O’Brien, Watson had his best game of the season against the Jaguars. He threw for 359 yards and three touchdowns while also getting out for 25 rushing yards. Sure, Jacksonville is the league’s worst defense, but it was good to see Watson return to some of the big-number form we’d seen from him in years past. After a brutal scheduling run to start the season, we may be getting the old Watson back now. Unfortunately, the matchup against the Titans isn’t exactly ideal coming off a week in which they shut down Josh Allen. But Watson still is about as dynamic a quarterback as you’ll find on this slate and the price hasn’t gotten all the way back after some early-season struggles. Ryan Fitzpatrick FD 7400 DK 5900 Opponent NYJ Proj Points FD - 20.59 DK - 21.63 Between byes, scheduling and injuries, the top five DraftKings-scoring quarterbacks aren’t on this slate so we are going to have to a dig a bit deeper this week to find some value at the position. Fitzpatrick has had a solid if unspectacular start to the season though some of that is a volume issue. Miami has two games already in which they were in complete control (SF in Week 5, JAX in Week 3) and Fitzpatrick didn’t top 30 passing attempts in either. But he’s also had two games (SEA in Week 4, NE in Week 1) in which he failed to record a passing touchdown and threw five combined interceptions. So it’s been an up-and-down season. This week he gets the Jets who rank 31st against the pass which is even more damning when you see they had three weeks of Brett Rypien, Jimmy G and the no-pass Colts. Fitzpatrick keeps the floor higher with gains on the ground, ranking fourth among quarterbacks in rushing yards this season and he’s a total bargain on DraftKings. Matthew Stafford FD 7300 DK 6300 Opponent JAX Proj Points FD - 21.12 DK - 21.91 Stafford gets the aforementioned Jaguars this week who rank dead last against the pass in part because they allow a league-worst 8.7 passing yards per attempt. That’s a half yard more than the next...
