Quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes FD 8800 DK 8100 Opponent CLEProj Points FD - 25.72 DK - 26.3 Let’s start off the season with some safety. I don’t really need to go about explaining why Mahomes is the top quarterback to run to start the season. He is just about as good as it gets in the game and returns his two top weapons in Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce. Last year Mahomes finished second overall in passing yards despite playing one fewer game than the rest of the top group and his 38 TDs to six INTS was second-most efficient among quarterbacks after Aaron Rodgers. This could be a pace-down matchup for the Chiefs considering how much the Browns like to run the ball, but again we are getting the best quarterback in the game. But the Chiefs have the highest implied total on the main slate for a good reason. Ryan Tannehill FD 7700 DK 6500 Opponent ARIProj Points FD - 20.86 DK - 21.45 While Tannehill wasn’t in the very upper tier of fantasy quarterbacks, it wasn’t for lack of efficiency. His 33 touchdowns to seven interceptions was among the best in the league, with the former number sitting seventh in the league. That doesn’t sound all that great until you realize his overall attempts were 18th in the league. When he put the ball in the air, good things happened. And there is reason to suspect the Titans do more of that this season. They brought in Julio Jones for a reason and it’s hard to imagine Derrick Henry keeping up the insane, on the ground, usage, he’s had over the last few. This is a good spot against the Cardinals in what projects to be a high-scoring game. Strongly consider Kyler Murray going up against those Titans. Running Backs Dalvin Cook FD 9400 DK 9100 Opponent CINProj Points FD - 22.08 DK - 23.86 Cook was behind only Derrick Henry in terms of carries and yards last season though that would have been closer had the former not missed two games. He still was awesome, racking up 1,557 yards on the ground and another 361 through the air. He still doesn’t factor into the passing game as much as you would like, but his big-play ability is second to none. In terms of DVOA, the Bengals had the...

For a limited time we're offering a free one week trial to all the sports that we cover - that's optimal lineups for NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB - for the same low price. Get started now! START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3.5) vs. Green Bay Packers (-3.5) We start the Conference Championship round with the Bucs and Packers. Tom Brady vs. Aaron Rodgers! Battle of the Bays! These two teams met in week 6, when the Bucs absolutely boat-raced the Pack to the tune of a 38-10 stomping that saw Tompa and company score 28 points in the second quarter. It was by far Rodgers' worst game of the season, with the future Hall of Famer registering just 160 passing yards while throwing two picks. Needless to say, a lot has changed since those two teams clashed in week 6, so let's take a look at what we're forecasting for this one. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Leonard Fournette FD 7200 DK 5300 Opponent GB Proj Points FD - 15.45 DK - 17.59 Last week was insanely tough because there were a number of running games where we were dealing with uncertainty. We were able to read the tea leaves in Tampa, though, forecasting Fournette for the majority of opportunity and production. Lenny delivered, gobbling up 107 total yards and a touchdown on 23 touches. He out-targeted Jones 6-1 in the passing game, which is particularly important since the Bucs will likely be playing from behind here. The Bucs were very effective running the ball in week 6, averaging more than five yards per carry. On a two-game slate filled with time shares, Fournette is currently in 100% of our cash game lineups. Chris Godwin FD 6800 DK 5400 Opponent GB Proj Points FD - 14.21 DK - 17.39 Brady is by far the worst quarterback remaining, and nothing from last week is going to get us excited about grabbing pieces from his passing game. That being said, I still think there is reason to be bullish on Godwin at these prices. First of all - he's downright cheap. We've paid $8k for Godwin in the past, and it's easy to argue that he would have seen more target share last week if the game script had been more like this one projects to be. For as bad as Godwin's production was last week, he still had the most targets on the team, and was the most...

START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Los Angeles Rams (+6) vs. Green Bay Packers (-6) The big question, as of this writing, is the status of the Rams’ quarterback situation. John Wolford left the Wild Card game early with a stinger and was actually to the hospital in an ambulance during the game. He ended up being fine all things considered and there’s actually some chance he plays this week. Jared Goff came in with having had finger surgery and was inconsistent going 9-19 though he did connect with Robert Woods for a touchdown pass in the win. We will have to monitor this leading into Saturday’s game. Cam Akers FD 7000 DK 5700 Opponent GBProj Points FD - 14.84 DK - 15.56 Akers was one of the fantasy darlings of the Wild Card round. The Rams leaned heavily on the rookie running back and he carried the ball 28 times for 131 yards and a touchdown in the win. Over his last five game (he had an injury in Week 16) Akers is averaging 21 carries per game and 2.6 targets. That’s incredibly elite usage and will once again make for a tough fade on Sunday. A negative game script of course could hurt him if LA falls down early, but considering the lack of running back options, for cash you just need to plug and play Akers here. Cooper Kupp FD 6100 DK 5300 Opponent GBProj Points FD - 12.05 DK - 14.97 Kupp left the Wild Card game against the Seahawks early with some knee issues. As of right now, it appears he’s going to be okay to play this Saturday. Even with an early exit, Kupp was the Rams’ leader in targets on Saturday despite leaving the game early and playing with two different quarterbacks. He finished with nine targets and four catches for 78 yards. It’s not a groundbreaking performance, but the price isn’t all that much on either slate for the clear target leader if healthy. If Kupp is out, Robert Woods and Josh Reynolds instantly become very strong cash game plays on both sites. They would increase target share and even if it’s inconsistent the price would be low in comparison to the projected increase in usage. Tyler Higbee FD...

Daily Fantasy Football Saturday Cash Game Breakdown for FanDuel and DraftKings Slates We’ve got a Saturday of playoff football with plenty of value to start the weekend on FanDuel and DraftKings. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterback Josh Allen FD 9000 DK 7500 Opponent IND Proj Points FD - 21.33 DK - 22.1 Josh Allen could be a tough fade on this Saturday slate considering just how much of the team’s fantasy production comes through his arm and his legs. Allen finished the season as QB1 in terms of overall raw fantasy points and second only to Patrick Mahomes in per-game scoring at the position because the latter sat Week 17. While the Colts’ defense has been more than sound this season, ranking 7th in defensive DVOA, this game has easily the highest over/under of the day (53) with the Bills as -7 favorites owning the best-implied total (29.5). Allen’s ability to sling it (37 passing TDs) and run (421 yards and eight TDs on the ground) make him the ideal cash game quarterback. John Wolford FD 6200 DK 4900 Opponent SEA Proj Points FD - 16.23 DK - 17.05 If you want a cheaper option on this slate Wolford is actually a fine option. In his first NFL snaps, in a must-win Week 17 game against the Cardinals the rookie quarterback threw for 231 yards on a 57% completion percentage. That’s obviously merely *meh* but he also got out and scrambled for 56 yards on six carries. If he can do work with his legs then the floor is probably high enough at these price points. He’ll face a middle-tier defense in the Seahawks who allowed the most opponents plays per game (69.5) this season. It’s a pace-up matchup for Wolford who’s coming as the cheapest quarterback on the slate on DraftKings. Running Back Jonathan Taylor FD 8800 DK 7900 Opponent BUF Proj Points FD - 16.94 DK - 18.03 Taylor comes into the game as a prohibitive underdog to the Bills, -7 on the road. That isn’t typically where we want to be with running backs, especially if there are concerns about lack of opportunity when playing from behind. Since Week 11, Taylor ranks third in running back fantasy points per game behind only Derrick Henry and David Montgomery. In that time he averaged 18 touches (16 rushes, two targets) per game and posted well over 100 yards per game in...

START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterbacks Lamar Jackson FD 9000 DK 8000 Opponent CIN Proj Points FD - 26.81 DK - 27.39 The Ravens need to win their Week 17 game to get into the playoffs and have one of the easiest paths to getting it done. They are 13-point favorites against the lowly Bengals and should lean heavily on Lamar Jackson to take care of business early and often in this game. Over the last four weeks he’s really turned the fantasy production back on to the levels we saw in last season’s MVP campaign. Since Week 12, he’s the second-best fantasy per game quarterback, averaging 29.2 DraftKings points thanks in large part to some huge rushing weeks. I doubt the Ravens stop what’s been working over the last four weeks, all wins. Jackson is expensive but is arguably the safest play here. Ryan Tannehill FD 8200 DK 7000 Opponent HOU Proj Points FD - 23.61 DK - 24.5 Jackson has an easy path to the playoffs, but the Titans might not be too far behind them. Tennessee needs a win over Houston to advance and the latter comes in with the third-worst defense on the season. Plus, this game has the week’s highest over/under (56.5) with the Titans -6.5 road favorites. Tannehill is coming off of a brutal week passing in bad conditions in Green Bay but did manage 55 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The passing yards can come and go, but Houston’s defense is so brutal that Tannehill is in play. And Deshaun Watson is good enough to turn the game into a shootout. It’s worth noting that Tannehill’s best game of the season was against these Texans when he put up 366 yards and four touchdowns in an overtime win. Daniel Jones FD 7000 DK 5100 Opponent DAL Proj Points FD - 20.54 DK - 21.47 Like we said, a big theme of this week will be teams with something to play for and that’s most definitely the case with the Giants who can get into the playoffs with a win over the Cowboys and a Washington loss. But the latter won’t be decided until later in the evening. So rest assured, the Giants will want to keep their foot on the gas. One of Jones’s biggest superlatives here is that he’s cheap in...

START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterbacks Jalen Hurts FD 8200 DK 7000 Opponent DALProj Points FD - 23.35 DK - 24.19 From a fantasy perspective, Jalen Hurts has had about as good a two-game stretch as any quarterback in their first two games under center. In the first one he got out into the open field against the Saints and put up 106 yards on the ground. Then, in Week 15 against the Cardinals, he really turned things on with an absolute slate-breaker. He threw for 338 yards and three touchdowns while also adding 63 yards and touchdown on the ground. His 40.8 DraftKings points were the 7th-best quarterback game on the season. Now he’ll face a Dallas defense ranked 25th in DVOA this season. Hurts’s price has come up considerably, but it’s only in line with the awesome performance. He’s still a high floor play in this tier. Deshaun Watson FD 8500 DK 7600 Opponent CINProj Points FD - 24 DK - 24.75 Since Week 11, Deshaun Watson is your QB2 in terms of average DraftKings scoring and he’s really only a few decimal points behind Josh Allen. The dude has just been elite, throwing for more than 300 yards in four of his last five games while averaging more than 30 yards on the ground. He’ll get a choice matchup against the Bengals who rank 29th in DVOA on defense this season and are much worse against the run than the pass. Don’t let the win over the Steelers fool you either, this is still very much a bad team. It’s close between Watson and Hurts for me in this upper tier. Watson does feel a bit safer because of the historical track record, but you do have to pay just a bit more. Mitchell Trubisky FD 7200 DK 5700 Opponent JAXProj Points FD - 18.91 DK - 19.72 If you’re looking for a cost-saving measure on DraftKings old Mitch might be the way to go. Since taking back over for Nick Foles four weeks ago Trubisky has been fantasy serviceable. He’s been around middle of the pack on a DraftKings points per game basis, putting up 18.9/game in that stretch. The good news is the efficiency has really been there, especially over the last three weeks completing 74% of his passes with a 5:1 TD:Int rate. And this...
