Considering he has a 31.2 usage rate on the season, there are going to be a lot of shots and considerable opportunity opening up in this offense. Dating back to last season, when SGA was out of the lineup, Josh Giddey’s usage rate climbs to 26%, the highest on the team. There are some new faces here for sure, but Giddey stands to be the primary ball handler and could see a minutes bump as well. He is a strong play on both sites, but especially FanDuel at sub-$8K. Malcolm Brogdon FD - $6500 DK - $6500Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 38.91 DK - 42.36 Shaedon Sharpe FD - $7100 DK - $7300Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 34.18 DK - 36.91 The other big piece of injury news is that Scoot Henderson will miss at least one game with an ankle sprain. It’s very easy to see what opportunity this will open up in the Blazers’ offense. Malcolm Brogdon will draw the start at point guard and is due for a minutes bump at the very least. With Portland this season, he’s averaging 18 points, 4.4 assists, and 4.6 rebounds in about 27 minutes. If that bumps into the low 30s then he should hit value easily against a struggling Memphis Grizzlies team. Meanwhile, Shaedon Sharpe has been playing massive minutes for Portland, averaging more than 39 (you read that right) over the last four. He blew it out of the box last game with 29 points, seven assists, and five rebounds and should be up for a solid line again in this one. The price is excellent on FanDuel. Strongly consider Desmond Bane (FD 8100 DK 8800) against a weak Portland Trailblazers defense. Spencer Dinwiddie is doubtful along with Dennis Smith Jr while Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton are already out. It’s going to mean a lot of run for Ben Simmons and Cam Thomas in the backcourt. Ben Simmons is already putting together solid fantasy lines even without shooting all that much. He’s averaging 8.3 points, 10 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game to go with two blocks+steals. At his price points with the idea that he’ll play even more minutes now, I think he makes for a pretty easy buy even in a bad matchup. And then there is Cam Thomas who has been one of the true breakout stories here to start the season. He’s averaging 33 points per game through the first three, taking 19 shots from the field and getting to the line a ton. You won’t get much in the way of other stats from him, so it’s scoring or bust. But the usage is so high it’s tough to pass him up on DraftKings especially. Fred VanVleet FD - $7500 DK - $7400Opponent - CHAProj Pts FD - 39.49 DK - 42.68 Jalen Green FD - $6600 DK - $6100Opponent - CHAProj Pts FD - 36.28 DK - 40.12 The Rockets are 0-3 and you have to think they are going to go all out here against the Hornets to try and get that first W of the season. The starters, in close games at least, are locked into high minutes and that’s what we should see out of Fred VanVleet and Jalen Green in this game. We can thank James Harden for that. With the Beard still holding out (or whatever you call it) Tyrese Maxey and De'Anthony Melton will take most of the backcourt minutes for the 76ers. Last season, with James Harden off the court, Tyrese Maxey had the second-highest usage on the team at 29.1% (only Embiid higher) and that trend should continue tonight as well. Maxey is the clear beneficiary of Harden choosing not to play and it’s really not a secret at all. That being said, he isn’t priced for this opportunity and is still coming at a relative bargain even on a two-game slate. Meanwhile, the real win for Melton here is with the minutes. Rather than a 22-25 minute guy off the bench, he’ll enter the starting lineup and is likely to see run in the mid-30s at least. Philly does have Patrick Beverley behind these guys, but that’s about the extent of their on-ball guard depth and that’s even a stretch to say about P-Bev. Stacking the 76ers guards here is the play in cash. Small Forward Kevin Durant FD - $9800 DK - $8900Opponent - LALProj Pts FD - 49.55 DK - 53.56 The other big injury news for this slate is that Devin Booker is going to sit for the Suns who are already without Bradley Beal. It’s going to push Kevin Durant into must-play territory and his price on DraftKings is kind of a joke with this news. Durant ran 37 minutes in the opener, a win over the Warriors, going for 18 points while struggling from the field at 7-22. But he grabbed 11 rebounds and the minutes should be at unhealthy levels once again. Durant is going to...

It is a great recipe for points given both teams come in 0-2 and are hungry to get a win with both having Top 10 offences and below-average defences. I will be starting with one of the most expensive directions but given the shootout potential, I think it provides us with a high floor and ceiling and could be a lower-owned combo given that high price tag. Cousins is a quarterback fans love to hate but it's hard to deny the fantasy value. He comes into week three having thrown 44 passes in both games while tallying 344 and 364 yards with six touchdowns and just one pick. The volume alone has him as my top PTS/$ quarterback this week and slightly over Herbert due to the cheaper price tag. Justin Jefferson and T.J. Hockensen have received the lion's share of that volume with 48% target share between them, 29% going to JJ who has put up 150+ yards in both games while also leading the league with 206 air yards. I will be running it back with Keenan Allen who has also been terrific sitting 9th in receiving yards and air yards through two weeks. If you are looking for a cheaper stack in this game consider Jordan Addison or T.J. Hockenson for the Vikings and Mike Williams for the Chargers. The chalk play in this game is likely targeting the run game with Dobbins who is priced in the mid-tier going up against the league-worst rush defense a year ago. Lamar is likely to get some traction here as well as an elite rushing quarterback but if looking for an upside stack for GPP, I love pairing him with rookie Zay Flowers who has flashed that upside in pre-season. While it appeared he was buried on the depth chart, OBJ and Bateman are coming off surgeries, and leading receiver Mark Andrews has been held out of practice with an undisclosed issue. The price is cheap on Flowers allowing us to afford his QB and pair him one or two elite running backs and wide receivers. Chicago Bears Justin Fields FD 8300 DK 7700 Opponent GB Proj Points FD - 20.13 DK - 20.13 DJ Moore FD 6300 DK 6100 Opponent GB Proj Points FD - 9.22 DK - 11.42 While I expect Lamar and any Ravens pass catcher you stack with hi to be chalky in week one, the Bears and Justin Fields could come in low-owned making them one of my top GPP leverage stacks this week. First of all, we get to lock in a solid floor with Fields rushing ability as he not only led all quarterbacks in 2022 but was also 7th overall in rushing yards at any position. Before that quick trip for a couple of rounds at Royal Liverpool, Henley had made nine of his previous 10 cuts with seven Top 25 finishes. That success was a direct result of some red-hot irons as he ranks #1 in this field in SG: Approach over the last 24 rounds and to go with it he ranks 9th in fairways gained. That is a great combination for Sedgefield and it has shown as Henley returns with Top 10's in three straight years here. He is my top play in the top tier this week. Aaron Rai FedEx Cup Rank (#61) Vegas Odds (35/1) DraftKings ($8,600) FanDuel ($10,200) This range of pricing is loaded with players who are dangerously close to the bubble to get into the playoffs and will need solid weeks to solidify their spots. Rai is one of them as he has been climbing fast with some nice form with Top 25 finishes in five of his last six events with two Top 10's mixed in, as well. He is not only one of just three players who rank Top 10 in fairways gained and SG: Approach in the short term but during this hot stretch he has gained strokes in every SG category three times.
