He struggled, to say the least, with 20 points, five assists, three rebounds, and 9!!! turnovers in the win over the Timberwolves. It was kind of a mess, but at least helped to keep his price from climbing. So there’s a positive I suppose. Today he gets a better matchup against the Kings who rank 24th on defense and run the fifth-fastest pace. This is one of the better teams you can face in DFS and the game should be up and down the court. The implied total is the highest on the slate before. Tre Jones FD - $4100 DK - $3800Opponent - TORProj Pts FD - 27.77 DK - 30.36 The Spurs are another team dealing with injuries and Covid protocols right now, leaving more minutes in the backcourt for guys like Tre Jones. He got the start last game and ended up playing 32 minutes in an overtime loss to the Pistons. Jones was largely effective with 15 points on 6-10 shooting while also adding in seven rebounds. Some of his minutes went to Bryn Forbes off the bench with the latter actually closing the game, so that is a bit of a concern. But the price on Jones is still firmly in the punt play range which makes playing him in cash a lot less risky. Keep an eye out to see if the Spurs switch up their starting lineup here, but Jones should be good to go. Shooting Guard Derrick White FD - $8000 DK - $7200Opponent - TORProj Pts FD - 37.55 DK - 39.33 White is the major beneficiary of Dejounte Murray being out of the lineup for the Spurs and he sees a usage and just general on-ball uptick in this situation. White played 42 minutes in the overtime game on Saturday and put up an impressive 18 points and 14 assists in the loss. I think the minutes should trend on...

He didn’t have a ton to show for it with five points and seven assists in his 32 minutes. But even with so much of the offense running through Jokic, I think this is the very low end of expected production at these kinds of minutes. Campazzo’s per 30-minute averages on the points side are a bit higher and I think he has a high enough floor to consider in cash. That’s, in part, because the matchup against the Rockets is such a good one. The DraftKings price is particularly attractive. Shooting Guard Bradley Beal FD - $8700 DK - $10300Opponent - CHIProj Pts FD - 44.15 DK - 48.23 With Spencer Dinwiddie still out in the Covid protocols, the entire offense will, once again, run through Bradley Beal in this game. Over the last two games, Beal has averaged 24 shots in 35 minutes, putting up huge numbers with 29 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds last time out. He could be in line for similar production here at home against the Bulls. The DraftKings price has corrected for Beal’s usage as the primary creator, but FanDuel didn’t come up enough. I think he will be a very popular play on that site especially. Will Barton FD - $5800 DK - $6200Opponent - HOUProj Pts FD - 36.02 DK - 38.72 With Monte Morris and Aaron Gordon out of the lineup, Barton is asked to shoulder more of the offensive load for Denver. He’s taken 15 and 18 shots respectively over the last two games, dropping 21 against the Warriors on Tuesday. And this matchup against the Rockets is much better considering Houston ranks second to last in defensive efficiency this season while running the third-fastest pace. That makes for basically the exact recipe you want to target in DFS. Barton sitting in the middle salary tier on both sites means he fits into lineups easily and is in too good a spot to fade on this slate....

The Cleveland backcourt has been decimated in the short-term and Trae could really pour it on here. In his first two games back, Trae has taken 23 shots in each and averaged 28 points and 10 assists. Those were both losses, but we could see that turn around against a Cleveland team with problems of its own. The DraftKings price is through the roof, but the FanDuel salary seems like a pretty easy play considering the situation. Derrick White FD - $8000 DK - $6800Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 37.98 DK - 39.16 It’s been a mixed bag for Derrick White since Dejounte Murray went out into the Covid protocols. It sure seemed like he’d be up for a major uptick in production considering just how much Murray did on the court of the Spurs. And, per minute, it’s mostly been the case even if the minutes were a little wonky in the last two. He played just 16 in a drubbing of the Pistons though somehow put up seven points and 10 assists in that limited time. And he was decent against Utah, going for 21 points and eight assists in a much tougher matchup. I like the prospects for a big game from White here against Memphis and think the DraftKings price is very attractive. He took 16 shots last time around and we could see a similar number tonight. Consider Kyle Guy (FD 3500 DK 3800) who just signed with the Heat and could move right into the starting lineup. Frankly, his performance since rejoining the starting lineup has been amazing. I don’t think the price, especially on DraftKings, has fully caught up with the production either. I am fine running him in cash considering Thibs is fine running him more than 40 minutes a game when things are close. Darius Garland FD - $7700 DK - $9900Opponent - NOProj Pts FD - 41.91 DK - 46.42 Garland continues to have a breakout season and is a major reason, if not *the* reason, why the Cleveland Cavaliers have turned into one of the truly great stories in the NBA. They are 20-13 with the best point differential in the league and Garland is a huge reason why. He’s averaging 20 points per game and has seen the usage only climb once Colin Sexton was lost for the season because of injury. On Tuesday he’ll face off against the Pelicans who own the 26th-ranked defense this year and will be without Brandon Ingram as well. It’s a good matchup for Garland who will play high-30s minutes when the game stays close. Shooting Guard Yuta Watanabe FD - $6000 DK - $5300Opponent - PHIProj Pts FD - 35.17 DK - 37.06 Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk FD - $4500 DK - $4900Opponent - PHIProj Pts FD - 28.68 DK - 31.51 It looks like the Toronto Raptors are going to be really thin heading into this game as well and we could have another run of a lot of minutes for both Watanabe and Mykhailiuk. Coincidentally, those same Browns are back in action this Saturday but this time facing the NFC's #1 seed in the Green Bay Packers. Leading the way is reigning MVP, Aaron Rodgers, who is also the current odds leader to win it again which would make him the first back-to-back winner since Peyton Manning(2008, 2009). While Rodgers has been great all season, he has been at his best in the short term throwing for over 300 yards in three of his last four games(325.3 avg) with a total of 12 touchdowns. In that time, he has scored 24 or more fantasy points in each game while averaging 30.6 DK/28.1 FD points per game. He now faces a short-handed Browns team that already ranks 23rd in DVOA against the pass. Look for Rodgers to deliver gifts to all the fantasy players who roster him. He is easily my top quarterback on this slate. Also Consider: Kyler Murray(ARI) as a GPP pivot off Rodgers or Backer Mayfield(CLE) who is slated to return this week and is the cheapest QB on the slate Running Back Jonathan Taylor FD 10500 DK 8300 Opponent ARI Proj Points FD - 22.98 DK - 24.43 While the MVP race likely comes down to a battle between veteran quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, Jonathan Taylor is most definitely making his case and not that far off sitting at +800 right now. He comes into Week 16 tallying 100 or more yards rushing in seven of his last nine games(132.3 avg) and has totaled 97 or more yards from scrimmage in 11 straight(146.6 avg).  & BUF). Early accounts are that he’ll get the starting nod again in this one with Derrick Rose questionable and Immanuel Quickley out. The price didn’t move enough for the potential minutes and Walker is a good play against the Pistons. Damian Lillard FD - $8600 DK - $9800Opponent - NOProj Pts FD - 43.33 DK - 47.9 After struggling to start the season, and also dealing with injuries, Dame has started to turn it around over the last couple of games with CJ McCollum on the shelf. He’s scored 32 and 43 points respectively on 21-38 shooting from the field. Today he’ll play against the Pelicans and their 28th-ranked defense, marking another great matchup for Lillard after he faced the Grizzlies and the Hornets back-to-back (both wins). With the Blazers really needing to pull back into this thing in the West, I think we are going to get a steady diet of major Dame minutes in the short term. And some of the early season struggles could be behind him. Shooting Guard D'Angelo Russell FD - $7900 DK - $7700Opponent - DALProj Pts FD - 40.93 DK - 45.31 The Timberwolves are still going to be without Anthony Edwards and Patrick Beverley in this game, leaving more ball-handling duties and usage to head Russell’s way.
