DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Sunday, 3/13/22

Posted by on Mar 13, 2022 in Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks, DraftKings NBA Picks, FanDuel NBA Picks, Uncategorized |

FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Sunday, 3/13/22 Sunday slates are always strange, and we have another bizarre one here. While we have eight games in total, only four make up the main card beginning at 7ET. The good news is that some of the worst defenses in the NBA are on display while some of the best players oppose them. That has us riding a stars-and-scrubs strategy because there are some fantastic values as well. Head on over for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and NHL Projections as well. Plus, our new player lab! We've got you completely covered. Point Guard Ja Morant FD - $10200 DK - $10400 Opponent - OKC Proj Pts FD - 48.24 DK - 49.36 Ja is playing at a different level than everyone else right now. Morant has scored at least 36 DraftKings points in 33 straight games, scoring at least 52 fantasy points in six of his last nine games. He's actually averaging 53 DK points per game in that most recent stretch, attempting a franchise-record 33 shots in the most recent outing. That's a good indicator of how much usage this guy is seeing, handling the ball on every possession for Memphis. We love all of that against this dreadful Oklahoma City roster, with Ja dropping 40 DK points in their last meeting, despite taking just 12 shots. Devonte' Graham FD - $5700 DK - $6100 Opponent - HOU Proj Pts FD - 32.45 DK - 34.09 Graham was in everyone's lineup on Friday, and he will be featured heavily again today. The simple fact is, he's the primary ball-handler in New Orleans right now. The Pelicans are currently missing C.J. McCollum, Brandon Ingram, and Zion Williamson, leaving Graham with a 35-minute starting point guard gig. He's been a stud in this role throughout the season, averaging 32 DK points per game in the 18 outings he's played at least 32 minutes. He actually had 41 fantasy points in this expanded role on Friday, and that's obviously a ridiculous total from a $6K player. The best part of this is the matchup, though, and we'll dig into that more later on. If you're looking for a punt play, Jose Alvarado should see some extra minutes for the shorthanded Pels. Shooting Guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander FD - $10300 DK - $10300 Opponent - MEM Proj Pts FD...

DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Saturday 3/12/22

Point Guard/Shooting Guard Donovan Mitchell FD - $8100 DK - $8600Opponent - SACProj Pts FD - 44.25 DK - 47.9 The Jazz blew a double-digit lead on Friday to the Spurs, marking a pretty bad loss for the team. And now they are on the back-to-back likely wanting to take this one from the Kings. They get the best matchup of the slate here with Sacramento ranking 28th in defensive efficiency this season while running the 6th-fastest pace. Mitchell should be a full go here on the b2b and has seen the price tick down some in the short term. I think his floor is plenty high on both sites considering the matchup and there’s some chance we could see Mike Conley’s minutes dialed back some considering he ran 31 on Friday evening. Dejounte Murray FD - $10800 DK - $10800Opponent - INDProj Pts FD - 52.86 DK - 55.57 He’s having such a breakout season and has been so consistent over the course of this year that we don’t really even bat an eye when seeing that Murray is pushing up against $11K on both sites. It’s more than warranted considering he’s putting up 21 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds per game along with 2.4 blocks+steals. Simply put, he’s one of the very best fantasy guys in the league right now. And he’s facing off against a Pacers team tied for 26th overall in defense who will also be missing Malcolm Brogdon. The Spurs are -6 home favorites and I love paying up for Murray here. The one thing to watch out for here is that San Antonio is on the second half of the back-to-back. Brandon Williams FD - $4900 DK - $6200Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 29.03 DK - 32.51 The Blazers stink and are fully in the tank. We know this and they’ve been almost unapologetic about it, which I can basically respect. Williams will get the start at point guard again considering both Damian Lillard and Anfernee Simons are on the shelf and the price hasn’t quite gotten there on FanDuel. While there have been some blowouts for this team recently, this doesn’t project to be...

DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Friday 3/11/22 – Pelicans, Jazz, and more

Point Guard/ Shooting Guard Luka Doncic FD - $10700 DK - $12000Opponent - HOUProj Pts FD - 57.11 DK - 61.82 I suspect Doncic will be the highest-owned big-money play on this slate and it might not be all that close. He gets the best matchup facing off against the Rockets who have allowed the most opponent fantasy points this season by far, with really only the Kings coming close in that respect. Since the beginning of February, Doncic has been on a tear, averaging 35 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists per game. With Kristaps Porzingis gone, the offense is running even more through him which is really saying something, but his load has almost become easier because the addition of Spencer Dinwiddie to spell Jalen Brunson has allowed Doncic more room to operate. This is an easy play on FanDuel though the DraftKings price does at least make you think. Devonte' Graham FD - $4300 DK - $4300Opponent - CHAProj Pts FD - 27.94 DK - 31.02 The Pelicans are going to be without both Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum for this game which should open up plenty of offensive opportunities for Graham who will likely pick up most of the primary ball-handling responsibilities. With those two guys off the court this season, Graham sees a noticeable (about 4% for each) uptick in both usage and assist rate. The price didn’t really adjust at all for what should be a considerable opportunity boost. And this is definitely a pace-up matchup for New Orleans facing off against the Hornets who run the third-fastest in the league. LaMelo Ball FD - $7500 DK - $8600Opponent - NOProj Pts FD - 43.77 DK - 47.6 As always, the major thing we need to worry about with LaMelo is the minutes. Even in some close games, James Borrego won’t push him over 30+ minutes, and at these prices that can sometimes be an issue. One would think that this matchup would be on the easier side of things, more in line with keeping Ball on the court for minutes in the mid-30s, but we can’t totally trust that at this point. He’s a triple-double threat...

This is also a huge week for teams and their notebooks as this will be the third straight season with Phoenix raceway hosting the Championship Race. The track is a 1.022-mile Tri-Oval short track with 11 degrees of banking in turns 1 & 2 and 9 degrees of banking in turns 3 & 4. Also of note, when breaking down track history, is that the track was reconstructed after the spring race in 2018 with the start/finish line being moved from the backstretch to the entry of the dogleg(old turn 2). One thing that hasn't changed over the years at Phoenix is the importance of track position as it ranks 1st, 1st, 4th in my model looking at the correlation of qualifying positon and finishing position over the last 2, 5, and 10 races at all tracks. The only race that has seen a correlation under .500 since the reconfiguration was the first race after which was the playoff race in 2018 and it was insane with six accidents including nine cars. When looking at dominator points, there have been multiple drivers to...

DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Tuesday 3/8/22

Point Guard/Shooting Guard LaMelo Ball FD - $7800 DK - $8700Opponent - BKNProj Pts FD - 43.12 DK - 46.83 The Hornets host the Nets on Tuesday in what actually becomes a pretty important game for both teams when it comes to (likely) eventual play-in game seeding. These teams are knotted up right now and owning the season series could end up becoming pretty important. Ball has had some trouble maintaining consistent minutes this season which is really the one thing that’s keeping his fantasy production and salaries in check. Because when he’s actually on the court, the dude can pile it up in a big way. Against a Nets team ranked 20th in defensive efficiency and 10th in pace, I think we can easily play him here, and considering there is some leverage with this one we should see Ball get full minutes share. Cameron Payne FD - $6600 DK - $5300Opponent - ORLProj Pts FD - 38.91 DK - 42.29 Landry Shamet FD - $5100 DK - $3700Opponent - ORLProj Pts FD - 23.67 DK - 26.23 Payne remains in the starting lineup for the Suns as they are still without Chris Paul and Devin Booker. Payne’s price hasn’t come even close to adjusting to what his role is with the team right now and he’s coming off excellent back-to-back games that saw him average 20 points and 12 assists. That kind of production is easily able to sustain as well considering how the Suns run their offense and these prices are kind of a joke. He will, almost definitely, be one of the higher-owned plays on this slate and with good reason. The DraftKings’ price makes things especially easy. Meanwhile, Shamet is coming way too cheap on DraftKings at under $4K and should see plenty of minutes in this game. With the Suns without Paul, Booker, and now Cameron Johnson, the two-guard played 34 minutes last time out in the loss to the Bucks. He ended up dropping 17 points and adding five assists in that one. He might play even more against Orlando here considering Phoenix lost another role player. The FanDuel price...

Guards Trae Young FD - $9700 DK - $10200 Opponent - DET Proj Pts FD - 48.71 DK - 53.5 With a month left in the season, the Hawks sit as the #10 seed which is also the final play-in tournament spot. It will be all hands on deck down the stretch and its starts with their superstars Trae Young. While he can be inconsistent at times in terms of his fantasy performances and that helps keep his price in check compared to other stars and that is great news for tonight as he faces a Pistons team that ranks 26th in defensive efficiency. We never have to worry about volume with Trae either as he is averaging just over 20 shots a game since the start of February and he has also been very consistent for fantasy averaging 49.4 DK/45.0 FD points per game in that time. All things considered, Trae is my favorite guard play and one of my favorite overall plays on this slate. Cade Cunningham FD - $7300 DK - $7500 Opponent - ATL Proj Pts FD - 36.09 DK - 39.57 On the other side of this game, we have a team in the Pistons who are all but eliminated from the playoffs but still on the radar as we have a live Rookie of the Year race. Cunningham faded away for a bit but is making a push again as he comes into tonight having averaged 20.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game over his last seven and like Trae, is not afraid to shoot averaging 18.7 shots per game in that time. The price is fair on both sites and considering the elite volume and matchup vs. the Hawks who rank 27th in defensive efficiency I will have exposure to Cade in all formats. Brandon Williams FD - $3500 DK - $3800 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 22.5 DK - 25.93 The Trailblazers are huge underdogs(+15) in this game but come in very short-handed, especially at the guard position. Justice Winslow will miss his fourth straight game while Simons got hurt late last game and is also ruled out for tonight. Williams...
