Pitchers Tarik Skubal FD 7900 DK 8600 Opponent - COL (Antonio Senzatela) Park - DETFD - 33.32 DK - 17.84 Skubal started to realize some of his prospect potential last season and that’s been able to carryover early on into this campaign. Through his first two outings the young lefty has a 10:1 K:BB rate and has looked excellent to start the season. Getting the Rockies out of Coors is a huge advantage here and Skubal is coming in as a -141 home favorite with the over/under sitting at 8. That gives the Rockies one of the lowest implied run lines of the day and Skubal is coming cheap enough on both sites. Running him in cash would give us a lot of flexibility with bats. Reid Detmers FD 6700 DK 7700 Opponent - BAL (Bruce Zimmermann) Park - BALFD - 29.9 DK - 15.24 Detmers is coming as one of the biggest moneyline favorites on the day at -187 and it’s for pretty good reason considering the matchup. The Orioles are one of the worst offenses in the league, ranking 28th in team wOBA so far this season while striking out 27% of the time, the second-most in the league. This lines up real well for the the young lefty Detmers who’s struck out close to a batter an inning through his first 28 major league innings. It’s a bit speculative for sure, but he’s coming so cheap I think we can easily take the risk here considering the matchup and the K upside. Strongly consider Justin Verlander (FD $10500 DK $10500) on both sites. He’s a -172 home favorite though draws a tougher matchup against the Blue Jays. Catcher/First Base Darin Ruf FD 2600 DK 2400 Opponent - WSH (Patrick Corbin) Park - WSHFD - 12.59 DK - 9.46 It sure doesn’t look like we are ever going to get a return to the Patrick Corbin of 2018 and 2019. That guy hasn’t been around for a while and he’s struggled to start this season as well with a 4.79 xFIP, a load of walks, and a K-rate below his career averages. Ruf has stunk so far this year, but this is a guy who’s crushed lefty pitching in his shorter career. He has a .392 wOBA, 150 wRC+ and .927 OPS against southpaws. Run should hit second in the lineup with the lefty on the...

Point Guard / Shooting Guard Jrue Holiday FD - $8000 DK - $8000Opponent - CHIProj Pts FD - 43.97 DK - 44.49 With Khris Middleton now out indefinitely, and at least for the next two games, the Bucks are going to need all of the offensive production they can get from everyone else. The first stop should be Jrue Holiday who becomes close to a lock in cash games now and will likely play a ton of minutes over the next two at least. For the series, he’s averaging 15 points, six rebounds, and six assists for the series so far. And this is with him struggling from the field and also from three, meaning we could get some regression on the scoring. I suspect he is one of the more popular plays on the slate now considering the context around this Bucks team who will be without one of its best players. Zach LaVine FD - $7200 DK - $7300Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 44.07 DK - 46.49 We are going to be overweighted on this game for sure, but it makes sense considering the context of what’s going on here. The Bulls are now live in this series, against seemingly all odds, but no Khris Middleton for the Bucks could have that effect. Lavine played 43 minutes last game and scored just 20 points while handing out only three assists which could turn you off to this play. But if that’s going to be the run then these prices are a total joke and he’s one of the easiest plays on the slate. Sure, Demar DeRozan took over last game, but if Lavine is playing 40+ minutes then we are getting a crazy value. Pat Connaughton FD - $4400 DK - $4000Opponent - CHIProj Pts FD - 24.2 DK - 25.26 It looks like he will get the start in Game 2 with Khris Middleton out, though I suppose it could also be Grayson Allen. This is a situation we are going to want to monitor and should have the info we need well before lineup lock. With Middleton coming out early (ish) last game, Connaughton came in and...

Point Guard / Shooting Guard Jrue Holiday FD - $7400 DK - $7600Opponent - CHIProj Pts FD - 43.75 DK - 46.83 Zach LaVine FD - $7700 DK - $7200Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 40 DK - 42.05 This does feel like the game we want to have the biggest piece of on this slate considering the matchups, the total, and the fact that there are middle-tier guys who are set to run a ton of minutes. We have to make hard choices on these three-game playoff slates where the starters and superstars for every team are set to see the lion’s share of the minutes and the fantasy output. It’s just the way of things at this point and we can’t fit every big-money play into lineups. Holiday ran close to 40 minutes in the first game and that should be the case from here on out. He had a balanced line of 15 points, six rebounds, and six assists, taking the second-most shots on the team with 16. I don’t think he’s in the class of the Kyrie Irving’s or James Harden’s, but he’s priced so far below those guys that he makes for a better dollar-for-dollar play. And then there is Lavine who is coming even cheaper and should see minutes pushing up towards 40 minutes as well if the game can stay close. That latter part is the real question, but I think we can take the risk. He struggled some from the field in Game 1, going 6-19 and just 2-10 from three, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Again, like Holiday, that he is coming in the middle tier instead of the upper makes it easier to fit the salary and work in other plays who also have high floors. We can’t take a total stars and scrubs approach here considering there really isn’t much in the way of punt plays. Khris Middleton FD - $6800 DK - $7400Opponent - CHIProj Pts FD - 39.95 DK - 41.44 Middleton played 39 minutes in the first game of the series, finishing with 11 points, six assists, and five rebounds, an underwhelming stat line to say...

Pitchers Corbin Burnes FD - P 10800 DK - RP 10500 Opponent - PIT (JT Brubaker) Park - MILFD - 45.35 DK - 25.42 Burnes is coming off a Cy Young season in 2021 thanks to just an insane 36% K rate while never really walking anyone. It was one of the great pitching seasons we’ve seen in a while. Things haven’t started quite at the same rate this year, though he’s still been solid in the first two outings. The Pirates have been better than expected at the plate this season, ranking in the top 3rd in terms of wOBA, but it’s hard to imagine that continuing over the course of the season. They just don’t have the bats up and down the lineup. I like this spot for Burnes who comes in as a -250 favorite, the best win odds on this slate. Robbie Ray FD - P 9900 DK - SP 9800 Opponent - TEX (Jon Gray) Park - SEAFD - 43.13 DK - 24.09 Ray has struggled in his first two games as a Toronto Blue Jay this season, walking a bunch of guys last games and not dialing the K’s up to where he was last season. He comes into this one as a -139 home favorite against the Rangers who have improved their offense this season and aren’t striking out a ton. But the 7.5 run line is lower here and Ray is simply coming too cheap for how he projects over the course of the season. This is a guy who’s struck out more than 11.5 batters per nine over the last couple of years and last season finally got the walks under control. I’m going back to the well here on the lefty. Catcher/First Base J.T. Realmuto FD 3900 DK 5300 Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - COLFD - 13.97 DK - 10.66 Rhys Hoskins FD 3800 DK 5500 Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - COLFD - 14.22 DK - 10.55 The Phillies will play in Coors here on Tuesday with the chance to put up a bunch of runs in the mile-high air. Their 6.0 implied run line is the highest of the day, facing off against the lefty Kyle Freeland. The top of the order will feature some righties on the better side of their platoons and all are in good spots here. From a fantasy...

Point Guard / Shooting Guard Trae Young FD - $9500 DK - $9300Opponent - MIAProj Pts FD - 50.87 DK - 55.41 He was completely terrible in the first game, I get it. Could Miami have his number throughout? Maybe. It’s certainly possible. But I also don’t want to completely overreact to one game either knowing what kind of dynamic offensive talent Trae is when things are all rolling. He shot 1-12 in that first game, an affair that turned into a blowout. I don’t think we can project that for every game, and there’s a world in which things stay close and he murders this number. I’m going back to the well on Trae here with the idea that we are getting him at something of a discount all things considered. Kyle Lowry FD - $7000 DK - $6300Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 34.54 DK - 36.09 He didn’t play a ton in the first game mostly because he didn’t have to. It turned into a blowout early and no one on the Heat side of things was taxed all that much. I don’t think Miami blows them out over the course of the whole series and I do think we can project Lowry in the upper-30s in terms of minutes which definitely makes him a value play. Even in just 29 minutes on Sunday this guy went for 10 points and nine assists with a couple of steals and four rebounds. He’s just coming too cheap on DraftKings especially. C.J. McCollum FD - $8400 DK - $8100Opponent - PHOProj Pts FD - 44.78 DK - 46.17 As long as the game stays even remotely close, we can bank on C.J. McCollum playing a million minutes. The Pelicans need every bit of the production and there’s a reason he ran 43 minutes out of the gate. Considering New Orleans needs his scoring in the worst way, as long as there’s a sliver of hope he has a super high floor at these prices. In the first game of the series, CJ played 43 minutes, took a team-high 25 shots, and finished with 25 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. It’s...

Point Guard / Shooting Guard Kyle Lowry FD - $6700 DK - $6000Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 34.54 DK - 36.09 This is an interesting series in that, like Boston vs. Brooklyn, it feels like we are getting a much better of 1 vs. 8 than one would usually think possible. That’s because the Hawks just seem like a better version of a bottom feeder than we are used to, and that’s correct. They are going to be a tougher out for Miami than they likely envisioned from working their asses off to get into the one seed. But with this comes the prospect of a lot of minutes from the Heat starters and that should mean a ton of production from Lowry. Over the last nine games of the season, Lowry averaged 18 points, six rebounds, and three rebounds per game, though was able to dial up the dimes later in the season when the Heat got healthier. He’s coming too cheap on both sites and is likely to play a ton of minutes in a close game. Jrue Holiday FD - $7800 DK - $7900Opponent - CHIProj Pts FD - 42.84 DK - 43.33 Look, I get that the Bucks are full strength in this which cuts into the fantasy production for all of their big three. But they also get the best matchup against the Bulls which should lead to two of them, at the least, paying value on this slate. Holiday has shown a balanced line throughout the course of the season with 18 points, seven assists, and almost five rebounds per game. One would think, in a close game that we are looking a high-30s in terms of minutes and that should be more than enough to hit value at these prices. Again, I think stacking Bucks is mostly the play here meaning we are going to need a couple of them at least on this slate. Alex Caruso FD - $4200 DK - $4200Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 26.82 DK - 25.84 I get that it’s weird to play a guy in cash games who ran 22 minutes per game over the last couple...
