Suns (11.5) vs. Celtics (-11.5) DFSR Projected Score:Suns: 114.55 - Celtics: 117.19 Vegas Projected Score: Suns: 106.25 - Celtics: 117.75 DFSR Projected Total: 231.74 Vegas Over/Under: 224 DFSR Suggested Bet(s) Suns +11.5 The Suns have a -9.5 point differential per game on the season, but it’s worth noting that number dips to -7.5 in games Devin Booker has started and played regular rotations. He makes a significant difference (of course) having him around and the scoring is so electric that when he’s shooting well the Suns can actually hang with better teams. They are on a three-game winning streak (the last two with Booker, wins over the Timberwolves and Knicks) and now travel to Boston for a matchup with the Celtics. Boston has looked better of late, winning eight in a row before dropping their last game to the Pistons. But that run was an easy one with games against the Hawks, Knicks, Bulls, Cavs, Wizards and two against the Pelicans. Having both Booker and Warren on the court together plus bringing in Mikal Bridges to replace Trevor Ariza makes a big difference. Ariza had the very worst net rating on the Suns among anyone who’d played more than 500 minutes (an astoundingly bad -13.4) while Bridges is actually positive on the season (8.1). Winning these starting lineup changes around the margins can be difference makers. Pistons (5) vs. Timberwolves (-5) DFSR Projected Score:Pistons: 103.28 - Timberwolves: 117.5 Vegas Projected Score: Pistons: 106 - Timberwolves: 111 DFSR Projected Total: 220.78 Vegas Over/Under: 217 DFSR Suggested Bet(s) Timberwolves -5 Timberwolves ML -200 Derrick Rose has been a revelation this season and as it stands ranks as one of the Timberwolves best players in terms of Net rating (+5.3). It would appear, the more minutes with him on the court, the better for Minnesota. No Jeff Teague also increases the usage on scorers like Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins. The Pistons are particularly weak defending the wings and could run into problems with the T-wolves in this respect. Also, Minnesota has had success defending opposing centers which neutralizes one of the only two high-level talents Detroit has on their roster. This could potentially be an easier win for the...

Bucks (-10.5) vs. Cavaliers (+10.5) DFSR Projected Score:Bucks: 127.03 - Cavaliers: 105.14Vegas Projected Score: Bucks: 114.5 - Cavaliers: 104DFSR Projected Total: 232.17Vegas Over/Under: 218.5DFSR Suggested Bet(s)Over 218.5Milwaukee -10.5 It always feels a little bit weird chasing a popular team and the over, as these tend to be sucker bets. In this case, though, our system sees Vegas as being the suckers. Our system thinks the Cleveland number is basically spot on, but believes that the bookmakers are unnecessarily bearish on the Bucks after a weird stretch of games. Giannis missed the Cleveland game last week, and the Bucks still beat them by 16 points and were resting their starters in the fourth quarter. Tristan Thompson will miss this game as well, denying the Cavs one of their better defenders. Yes, this game is in Cleveland, but the return of the Greek Freak should more than make up for the change of scenery. I'll be grabbing the Bucks and the over for one unit each. Knicks (10) vs. Hornets (-10) DFSR Projected Score:Knicks: 103.2 - Hornets: 117.02Vegas Projected Score: Knicks: 107.25 - Hornets: 117.25DFSR Projected Total: 218.22Vegas Over/Under: 224.5DFSR Suggested Bet(s)Charlotte -10Under 224.5 It's always interesting seeing how the public reacts to these games where we have a recent game to point to. The Knicks and Hornets met in New York on December 9th, and the Hornets walked away as 12 point victors. So has anything really changed here? When we're betting sports, we want to be very wary of referencing one game sample sizes. In that Knicks/Hornets game, the Knicks actually ran far ahead of expectation from deep, making 12/24 of their threes. Missing two more of those would have shaved 6 points off the board in all likelihood. No Hornet starter needed to play more than 30 minutes thanks to the Hornets running out ahead early, and the Hornets were actually up 21 points headed into the fourth. Our system is very bearish on the Knicks' ability to score Vegas' implied total as well, which is where the under should come in. If we see the Hornets' guys get their full run, winning by 10 at home seems trivial. GRAB A FREE TRIAL OF OUR PROJECTION SYSTEM, AND...
