The Course Southern Hills Country Club Par 71 - 7,481 Yards Greens - Bentgrass **Click the image above to see a hole by hole breakdown from PGATour.com** Previous Five PGA Championship Winners 2021(Kiawah Island) - Phil Mickelson(-6) 2020(TPC Harding Park) - Collin Morikawa(-13) 2019(Bethpage) - Brooks Koepka(-8) 2018(Bellerive CC) - Brooks Koepka(-16) 2017(Quail Hollow) - Justin Thomas(-8) The second major of the season is here as the best players in the world return to Southern Hills Country Club for the 2022 PGA Championship. The course opened back in 1936 and has played host to many big events from Women's and Men's Amateur Championships, to US Opens, Tour Championship, and of course the PGA Championship which was last played here in 2007 when Tiger Woods took home the Wanamaker Trophy. This year's PGA Championship will play a bit different than in 2007 as the course has been renovated by Gil Hanse to both bring back some of the original design as well as modernize the course for today's game. The first thing golfers will notice is the widening of the fairways 10-15 feet on average which should lead to a lot more drivers off the tee which was not the case back in 2007 when we saw a ton of "less than driver" strategies. You still won't want to get too far offline, however, as the rough will be gnarly and will make hitting the greens very, very difficult. Hitting greens in regulation will already have its challenges as one of the other big changes to the course involves the greens which once funneled balls into the middle. Those greens, for the most part, were shaved down around the edges which will now funnel balls off the green. From a stat model perspective, it will take an elite or near-elite all-around game to get it done this week but...

Pitchers Freddy Peralta FD - P 9700 DK - SP 10500 Opponent - ATL (Ian Anderson) Park - MIL FD - 37.39 DK - 20.12 All of the ace pitchers were on the mound over the weekend but good news for the Brewers as they seemingly have three of them in one of the best rotations in baseball. Peralta takes the mound on Monday and has been terrific lately holding opponents to just 15 hits and five earned runs(2.08 ERA) over his last four starts with 28 strikeouts(32.2%) and five walks(5.7%). While the matchup against the world champs doesn't appear great at first they are just league average in terms of wRC+(100) on the season and have seen their strikeouts go up recently(26%), as well. Peralta is our top projected pitcher and in play in all formats. Yusei Kikuchi FD - P 7500 DK - SP 6300 Opponent - SEA (Chris Flexen) Park - TOR FD - 31.33 DK - 16.25 One thing that was a nice mix with all the elite pitching over the weekend was all the cheap SP2 options and we get more cheap options on Monday. My favorite of the bunch is Kikuchi who opens as a -165 favorite against his former team who have been trending down in the short term with an 87 wRC+ and 27% K rate over the last week. For Kikuchi, it has been the opposite trend as he started the season slow but comes in red-hot having given up just five hits and three earned runs over his last two starts, both against the Yankees, while striking out 14(33%). All things considered, Kikuchi is my favorite SP2 on DraftKings allowing us to stack some big bats. Catcher/First Base Brandon Belt FD - 1B 3800 DK - 1B 4500 Opponent - COL (Antonio Senzatela) Park - COL FD - 15.89 DK - 11.84 Let's get the bats started with a matchup in Coors which checks all the boxes from a Giants perspective. It starts with the matchup as they face Senzatela who has given up at least seven hits in all six of his starts while tallying just eight total strikeouts. This means a ton of hard bit balls(7+ in five of six starts) and when looking at the splits, we can attack from both sides as he has given up a .400+ wOBA to lefties and righties. For Belt, he hasn't...

The Course TPC Craig Ranch Par 72 - 7,468 Yards Greens - Bentgrass **Click the image above to see a hole by hole breakdown from PGATour.com** Previous Winner(TPC Craig Ranch) 2021 - K.H. Lee(-25) This week the PGA Tour heads back to TPC Craig Ranch for the second straight year as it will host the 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson. It was K.H. Lee breaking through for his first career win a year ago with a winning score of -25. In fact, six players in total made it to -20 or lower and the course ranked 5th easiest on Tour during the 2020-21 season. This year's event has a strong field at the top led by World #1 Scottie Scheffler and three others(JT, SPieth, Burns) ranked inside the Top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings. The course is a Par 72 that is listed at 7,468 yards on the scorecard but while it has a ton of length, it also has easier than average fairways to hit combined with average to larger-than-average green sizes. This had the field hitting over 65% of fairways and over 70% of greens in regulation last season which then puts emphasis on Proximity and those golfers who can get a hot putter on these bentgrass greens. Let's dig in and take a look at some golfers that will be in the forefront of my player pool this week. Top Targets Justin Thomas World Golf Ranking (#8) Vegas Odds (12/1) Draftkings ($10,600) FanDuel ($11,900) Looking at the top-heavy field this week, I will be building the majority of my lineups stars and scrubs and will have lots of exposure to both Scheffler and Thomas who are ranked #1/#2 in both my short-term and long-term models. I lean JT slightly for article sake because he is slightly cheaper on both sites and gets the...

The Course TPC Potomac @ Avenel Farm Par 70 - 7,160 Yards Greens - Bentgrass **Click the image above to see a hole by hole breakdown from PGATour.com** Welcome back golf fans. As you can see above, this season's Wells Fargo Championship will look a little different as Quail Hollow will not host the event for the first time since 2003 as they will host the 2022 Presidents Cup. Taking its place for this season will TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm which last hosted a PGA Tour event in 2018 with the Quick Loans National where Francesco Molinari took home the trophy. Despite what his winning score of -21 says, the course does not play that easy and it shows as only seven players hit double-digit under par and the course ranked 14th hardest among the non-major venues in 2018. Looking a little closer at the course to help formulate a stats model on the sheet, we have a fairly demanding course off the tee with smaller than average fairways and thicker Kentucky Bluegrass rough and water in play on 10 of the 18 holes. Golfers will then approach very small bentgrass greens that run faster than the tour average(listed at 12.5 on the stimp). What this tells me is that you will have to be very accurate off the tee or have an excellent approach game from the rough or possibly both(lol). Molinari's win in 2018 was driven by his elite ball-striking as he hit a field-leading 75% fairways and 86% greens in regulation. With very small and very fast greens, I will also be factoring in that the field will likely be hitting a below-average number of greens which elevates the importance of scrambling/SG: around the green. When looking at my top stats each week, there are rarely players who check every box so I...

The Course Vidanta Vallarta Par 71 - 7,456 Yards Greens - Paspalum **Click the image above to see a hole by hole breakdown from PGATour.com** Welcome back golf fans. After some near-flawless execution by Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele in the Zurich Classic team event, the PGA Tour has a week off travels to Mexico for a new event on the schedule, the Mexico Open. With an early withdrawal from Daniel Berger, this may go down as one of the worst fields in recent memory. It is, however, led by World #2 Jon Rahm but consists of just 14 of the Top 100! I won't deep into the course as we don't really have a ton of data. I did watch a preview show from "Tap it In" on YouTube and pulled these notes: Par 73 Resort course converted to a Par 71 for this event Long on the scorecard and plays at sea level so will play long as well Lots of room off the tee so should cater a bit to the bombers Outside the fairways is water(in play 13 holes) and waste areas 55 bunks throughout(below average) Coastal course so weather will big in the final score playing out(tournament director in video predicted -18 winning score) With that, I am keeping things simple and as always, looking for players who are trending in ball striking both in the short-term and long-term and will also add in some distance off the tee and long iron proximity into my model. Let's get into the picks! Top Targets Jon Rahm World Golf Ranking (#2) Vegas Odds (6/1) Draftkings ($11,300) FanDuel ($12,200) Given this ultra-weak field, I fully expected to see Rahm in the $12K range on DraftKings but that is not at all the case so I will be centering my core build around him this week in...

That's right, it's time for the first major and biggest event in golf, the Masters. This year's field contains 91 players including each of the Top 10 and 48 of the Top 50 players in the Official World Golf Rankings. As always, we are never short of narratives to follow so before we get into the fantasy-related content of the article, let's look at a few that stand out the most. Tiger Woods return??? All the talk over the last 7-10 days has been that the GOAT is still on the Masters field list which progressed to people tracking his private jet from Florida and eventually led to a confirmed practice round last week. Who is excited? I am not sure what to expect from a DFS standpoint but you know that if Tiger does play, he will be gunning to win another Green Jacket, not just walk around and enjoy the sites and sounds. Stay tuned for updates. You won't have to look very hard for them(lol). Hard not to start with Scottie Scheffler who is the hottest player on the planet and the new #1 player in the world. He comes into this years' Masters with three wins(Dell Match Play, Arnold Palmer Invitational, Phoenix Open) in his last three events and has tallied a Top 20 in both previous appearances at Augusta. Does he make a fourth win in...
