The Sony Open wrapped up last night in Hawaii with Fabian Gomez picking up the win on the second playoff hole with Brandt Snedeker. Gomez was red hot on Sunday shooting a 62 which included an amazing streak of seven straight birdies from hole 6 through 12. Our cash game lineup managed to salvage cashing in a few 50/50's and double ups but not all so we will chalk it up as a loss. Tough week for Justin Thomas, missing the cut and David Hearn getting a MDF on Saturday. Either way, we are moving on to this week and plan to start another streak. The PGA Tour will now head back to the mainland after a terrific couple weeks in Hawaii. This week the tour heads to La Quinta, California for the CareerBuilder Challenge in Partnership with the Clinton Foundation. The tournament was formerly known as the Humana Challenge and originally named the Bob Hope Classic. The tournament will take place on three different courses (Listed above) and will be a Pro Am for the first 54 holes of the tournament. Each player will get matched with an amateur and get one round on each of the three courses before the cut of 70 golfers and ties is established following Saturday's round. The final round will be played on the TPC Stadium Course at PGA West this year. It will be the first time since 1987 that the course will be used for this event. The Nicklaus Tournament Course will also be back in the rotation for this event. It is the regular home of the Q school finals each year. The third course being used is La Quinta Country Club and it will be the 51st straight year here at the event. All three...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks for DraftKings – Sony Open in Hawaii

Click Here to Purchase PGA Lineups Sony Open in Hawaii Waialae Country Club - Honolulu, Hawaii Par 70 - 7,044 Yards It is a new year but some things never change. Jordan Spieth kicked off the 2016 season shooting a -30       en route to a 8 stroke win over defending champion Patrick Reed. In an interview Tuesday before the tournament he was asked what he is going to do for an encore this year? "Doesn't an encore mean that the show is then over?" Spieth replied. Then he went out and delivered a dominating performance as he did so many times last season. If this is foreshadowing for the future and what we should expect for the 2016 season, we are in store for a great year. For a second straight week we will be enjoying the PGA Tour from the beautiful islands of Hawaii. This week is the Sony Open at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii. We are back to a full field event this week with 140 golfers and a Friday cut seeing the Top 70 golfers and ties make it to the weekend. Jimmy Walker is the two time defending champion and will look to make it three in a row this weekend. No one has won the same event three years in a row since Steve Stricker took down three John Deere Classic's from 2009-2011. Waialae Country Club is a Par 70 that measures 7,044 yards. The course is set on the east coast of the island and can be affected by the trade winds off the sea. The fairways are forgiving but with the strategically placed trees and bunkers it does require an accurate placement of the drive to be in position to attack the pin and make birdies. There are five Par 4's that are 450+ yards so distance can be an advantage this week. We will also want players who hit greens in regulation and good putters always benefit no matter what course. This week I went back through the last five years and looked at the players...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks for DraftKings & Fantasy Feud – Hyundai Tournament of Champions

The Tour Championship wrapped up back in September and thankfully we had the wrap around season to get our daily fantasy golf fix. The talent level of the wrap around tournament fields is definitely not the same as the fields during the regular season but still offered some fantastic golf. It was a great time to see some of the changes the golfers are making to their games going into a new season and a prime example was watching Adam Scott get acclimated to a conventional putter.  The two events I watched were the CIMB Classic and the HSBC Champions. At the CIMB back in late October/Early November, Scott finished 2nd and putted great. His putting average on all four rounds was 1.610 which ranked 5th in the field. He then went on to the HSBC Champions the next week and while he struggled to a 70th place finish, his Putting Average was 1.711 which ranked 23rd in the field. He looked comfortable with the conventional putter and I am not going to factor it in much, if at all this season. Another positive of the wrap around season is the opportunity to get a close look at some of the new players on tour(rookies) and some of the up and coming stars who are out to prove they belong. The four rookies(Daniel Berger-winner, Tony Finau, Nick Taylor, Justin Thomas) from the 2015 season who were nominees for Rookie of the Year are definitely leading a list of players who are already making an impact on tour. This year provides another strong list of rookies who will look for early success. A few to look out for: Patton Kizzire Led Web.com Tour money list in 2015 Achieved full status on PGA Tour for 2016 season Four events played in wrap around season Shriners Open - T2 Sanderson Farms Championship - T4 OHL CLassic - T58 The RSM Classic - CUT Emiliano...

Click Here to Purchase PGA Lineups CIMB Classic Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club(West Course) - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Par 72, 6,951 Yards For a second straight tournament to open the new season a rookie has taken the hardware on Sunday afternoon. It was Smylie Kaufman's turn this past weekend at the Shriners Hospitals for Childrens Open. He shot a closing round 61 to finish 1 stroke ahead of a 6 way tie for 2nd which included 2 other rookies in Patton Kizzire and Brett Stegmaier. Kevin Na was also in the tie for second marking his second consecutive runner up to start the year. It has been an exciting start to the new season and hopefully a sign of things to come for another big PGA Tour season. This week the PGA Tour makes a stop at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Country Club(West Course) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This will be the third year in a row the CIMB Classic will be played at this course. Kuala Lumpur G & CC is 6,951 yard Par 72 setup that requires accuracy and ball placement to avoid fairway bunkers. Players that have done well here in past two years have been ranked high in Strokes Gained Tee to Green. Other stats I am ranking highly this week are Driving Accuracy, Par 4 & 5 Performance and Strokes Gained Putting. The field will consist of 78 players(60 PGA Tour players, 10 Asian Tour players, & 8 sponsors exemptions) this week and will have no cut on Friday. Below are all the stats being used on the cheatsheet this week. *Stat rankings are from the 2015 season to start the year* Strokes Gained: Tee to Green Driving Distance Driving Accuracy Greens in Regulation Proximity Par 4 Performance Par 5 Performance Strokes Gained: Putting High End Targets Henrik Stenson Vegas Odds - 8/1 Draftkings - $12,100 Fantasy Feud - $180,000 Rickie Fowler didn't payoff his top price last week with a slow start on Thursday resulting in a T25. I feel a lot more confident in Stenson as the top priced guy...

Click Here to Purchase PGA Lineups FRYS.com Open Silverado Country Club(North) - Napa, CA Par 72, 7,203 Yards The 2014/2015 PGA Tour season officially wrapped up Sunday with the USA team beating the International team in the Presidents Cup. It was just another accomplishment achieved by 2015 player of the year Jordan Spieth. He picked up 5 wins including the first two majors(Masters & US Open), T4 at the Open Championship, and 2nd at the PGA Championship. Jason Day, who won the PGA Championship, battled Spieth for the player of year and Fedex Cup Championship right up until the Tour Championship. It was Spieth who showed up to win at East Lake by 4 strokes and take home the $10,000,000 prize. It might have been because I paid more attention to the PGA Tour and watched more golf this year than ever before in my life but the excitement surrounding the up and coming talent seems to be reaching new levels. The rookie crop gave us Justin Thomas, Tony Finau, Carlos Ortiz, Adam Hadwin, Daniel Berger to name a few. This season's rookies have a tall order following up 2015 rookies but players like Emiliano Grillo, Patton Kizzire, and Micheal Kim will definitely be fun to watch and have a good shot at early success on the PGA Tour. It will all begin this Thursday at the Frys.com Open. The 2015/2016 PGA Tour season will kick this week in Napa, California for the Frys.com Open. The course hosting will be Silverado Country Club(North Course). This will be the second year this course has hosted the Frys.com open so we don't have much data to go off of this week. The course has tree lined fairways with bunkers and water also used as a defense. When looking at last years results you notice that driving accuracy was not a key stat with many of the top golfers below average for the week. Distance on the other hand was key as the top of the leaderboard was full of golfers who drove it 295+ yards off the tee. The other...

Click Here to Purchase PGA Lineups Tour Championship East Lake Golf Club - Atlanta, GA Par 70, 7,307 Yards The BMW Championship wrapped up Sunday afternoon with Jason Day winning in dominating fashion. He played all four rounds under 70 and never really had much of a push from the rest of the field. The hit just over 75% of greens in regulation and gained over a stroke on the field putting for the week. He is on a tremendous run of elite golf at the moment and was rewarded with not only another win but Jason also took over the #1 spot in the Official World Golf Rankings. He does, however, have one more accomplishment to take care of this week. Win the Tour Championship and claim the Fedex Cup and the $10,000,000 prize. If you plan to fade him this week, you might be the only one in the world doing so. The Tour Championship is finally upon us and we will get to see a champion crowned this Sunday afternoon. The points have reset prior to the start of the Tour Championship and is setup so that any golfer in the top 5 in the rankings who wins this week will claim the Fedex Cup. There is a scenario, however, which will allow any of the 30 remaining golfers to win the Fedex Cup but the lower you are ranked the harder it will be. For instance, the 30th ranked golfer would need the leader(Day) to finish in the bottom two this week while winning the tournament themselves. A tall task considering how Day has been playing. When looking back, the last five Fedex Cup Champions have also won the year end Tour Championship tournament. It makes for an exciting final tournament with all the scenarios available and will be a great display of golf in the final week of the season. East Lake Golf Club was once home to the Atlanta Athletic Club and dates all the way back to 1908. It is probably most famous for being the childhood golf course of...
