Did you blink? If so, you might have missed it. Since the Tour introduced the wrap around season it gives us fantasy golf enthusiasts exactly what we want. More golf! Last season was my first "full time" year in the writing and tout game and while the results were up and down from a playing standpoint, the picks were rock solid throughout the year. Don't believe me? Check out the 2015 Daily Overlay end of year rankings for all the sites that posted free picks throughout the year. I am never satisfied with my results unless I am winning every week and that's pretty much impossible. During the off season I sat down and first went through my spreadsheet to analyze what worked in the weighted rankings and what didn't. Through this fall(wrap around) season you may see some dramatic changes week to week as I get ready for the "real" season to begin in January. If you ever have any suggestions please email me or hit me up on Twitter anytime. The next thing I did from a personal standpoint was analyze my own lineups and roster construction. This is where I failed the most last year. I spent so much time in the prep of the cheatsheet, article, podcasts and video chats that I neglected the biggest part of DFS success, lineup building. I read articles, talked to some smart people, and made notes on a strategy moving forward. I am going to get back into cash games this year as I feel I can accurately predict cut makers on a large year long scale. I will also be playing less GPP lineups and concentrating most of my effort in single entry and 3 entry max tournaments as I just don't have the time to multi enter 10+ lineups on a weekly basis. This may change here and there, especially...

Click Here to Purchase PGA Targets TOUR Championship East Lake Golf Club - Atlanta, GA Par 70 - 7,307 Yards The 2016 PGA Tour season will come to a close this weekend following the TOUR Championship from East Lake Golf Club. After three tournaments and five weeks of playoffs it all comes down to 30 golfers vying for the $10,000,000 prize and FedEx Cup Championship. The Top 5 golfers(Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Adam Scott, Jason Day, Paul Casey) will control their own destinies and take home the FedEx Cup with a win. All 30 golfers have a shot to win with about a million possible scenarios. If you want to check them out and dig deeper check them out HERE. With just 30 golfers in the field this week I will be and I recommend to lower your exposure to this DFS event. There will be a ton of overlapping lineups with a lot of cash being split. The good news is the off season for golf is very short with the 2016/17 regular season kicking off two weeks after the Ryder Cup at the Safeway Open. If you are playing multiple lineups this week a great way to separate yourself in the larger field tournies is too leave some salary on the table. I normally do about 20 lineups in my GPP's I enter and this week will do just five with a core four or five golfers and a few fill ins. I will be once again simplifying my model which has worked great in the closing stretch of the season. I will be weighting Strokes Gained Off the Tee and Approach the most with Par 4 & 5 Scoring and BoB% right there as well. If you have any questions leading up to lineup lock Thursday morning you can reach me in a variety of ways. Leave a Q below in the comment section and I will get you an answer. You can hit me up in the new chatroom here at DFSR(It's crazy busy with MLB talk so try and private message me for specific PGA Q's). I will also be...

Click Here to Purchase PGA Targets BMW Championship Crooked Stick Golf Club - Carmel, IN Par 71 - 7,297 Yards It appears Rory McIlroy has found the putting stroke. He lead the field in Putters per GIR and was 7th in Strokes Gained: Putting en route to his big win at the Deutsche Bank Championship this past Labour Day weekend. I'll admit I was terrified of his putting going into the week and all out faded him in my lineups. I paid dearly and it was just another instance proving that putting can come and go at the snap of your fingers. If you missed the final round highlights from the Deutsche Bank Championship I included a short video form PGA Tour Youtube below. We are now down to two remaining tournaments and 70 golfers vying for the 10 million dollar prize and FedEx Cup title. This week the rotating course schedule for the BMW Championship takes us to Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana. The course is a 7,516 yard Par 72 that was designed by Pete Dye back in 1965. Crooked Stick last hosted the BMW Championship in 2012 when none other than last weeks winner Rory McIlroy prevailed. I will be weighing course history quite low this week and only looking at the 2012 results and stats fro those players on my cheatsheet. When faced with a Pete Dye course with no back to back holes running in the same direction I weigh Strokes Gained: Off theTee right near the top. Looking at 2012, Rory won with a score of -20 overall and was -9 on the Par 4's and -11 on Par 5's. Six players inside the Top 10 were double digits below par on the Par 5's and only one player was worse than -4 on the Par 4's for the week. I will weigh Par 5 scoring a bit more but both will be heavily weighted this week. There are only 69 players in this weeks field as Henrik Stenson will be sitting out to get a two week break before the Tour Championship. The weather for the...

Click Here to Purchase PGA Targets Deutsche Bank Championship TPC Boston - Norton, MA Par 71 - 7,297 Yards The FedEx Cup Playoffs continue this week as the field has been narrowed down to 100 players(Actually just 99 with Danny Willett skipping the playoffs). The Tour heads to a familiar destination in Norton, MA for the 2016 Deutsche Bank Championship. TPC Boston has played host to this event since the PGA Tour playoffs were introduced back in 2003. The course was originally designed by Arnold Palmer and opened in 2002. In 2007 Gil Hanse(olympic Course designer) and Brad Faxon took on an extensive remodel of the course. They shortened course and opened up the idea of risk/reward on many of the holes. They also re graded almost every fairway and green and added local "Chocolate Drop" mounds and grass bunkers. TPC Boston isn't considered hard with a winning final score of -15 to -22 over the last five years. Golfers will be just gripping and ripping from the tee as there is a nice mix of driveable Par 4's combined with some tougher landing areas that were created with the remodel. When analyzing the stats on my cheatsheet this week(26 in total) I have decided to concentrate heavily on the Strokes Gained metrics as they cover a golfers entire game. I am leaning heavily on SG: Off the Tee and SG: Approach with Putting and Around the Green sitting right behind in importance. I also like to weigh in Par 4 and 5 scoring combined with Birdie or Better % as it will correlate very closely to DraftKings scoring. Another narrative this week that can't be quantified by a stat is the four remaining Ryder Cup roster spots on the USA team. Davis Love III made it clear that almost anyone inside the Top 100 would be considered and that he wants the eight players already on the team to help pick the final four. Some of the big names in the mix are Bubba Watson, Matt Kuchar, Rickie Fowler, J.B. Holmes, and Jim Furyk to name a few. Let's dig in and take a...

Click Here to Purchase PGA Targets The Barclays Bethpage State Park (Black) - Farmingdale, NY Par 71 - 7,468 Yards Welcome back to another week of daily fantasy golf. The regular season grind is now over as the FedEx Cup Playoffs and the shot at $10,000,000 begins. The Top 125 golfers in FedEx Cup standings will now take part in a four tournament, five week playoff to determine the champion. It all starts at the Barclays where there is a normal cut of Top 70 and ties and at the end of the event the Top 100 in the standings move on to the Deutsche Bank Championship next week. From there the Top 70 move on to the BMW Championship and finally after a week off, the Top 30 golfers in the standings will travel to East Lake for the Tour Championship. Both the Tour Championship and BMW Championship are no cut events. Let's take a look at this week. Round 1 of the playoffs starts this week with the Barclays. The field will consist of just 121 players as Anirban Lahiri, Danny Willett, Sergio Garcia, and Shane Lowry will sit out. This years event will be held at Bethpage State Park(Black Course). It is famous for it's sign as you enter the property "WARNING: The Black Course is an extremely difficult course which we recommend only for highly skilled golfers". Ya, it's a tough course. It is a longer course for a Par 71 and has very tight fairways, thick rough, well placed, difficult bunkers and small greens making it a daunting task. It will most likely be played similar to a US Open this week with a winning score around -5 to -10. Bethpage was last used for this event in 2012 and was also the host to the 2009 and 2002 US Opens. I have highlighted and included all three of these years on my cheatsheet under tournament history. Below are the keys stats I am weighting this week: Strokes Gained: Tee to Green Strokes Gained: Around the Green with emphasis on Sand Save % Driving Distance/Total Driving Proximity from 175-200 Yards & 200+ Yards Par...

Click Here to Purchase PGA Targets Wyndham Championship Sedgefield Country Club - Greensboro, NC Par 70 - 7,127 Yards After a somewhat negative buildup to the Olympics spearheaded by the media, it appeared to be an overwhelming success. It was Great Britain's Justin Rose capturing golf first Gold Medal in 112 years with Sweden's Henrik Stenson taking Silver and the USA's Matt Kuchar taking home the Silver. You could really get a feel from watching and listening to the players that this competition had more of a Major Championship feel than just a regular tour event or even a World Golf Championship event. I can't wait for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. This week the PGA Tour is back on it's regular schedule with the Wyndham Championship from Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. It will be the very last event before the FedEx Cup Playoffs begin next week at the Barclays. That means anyone outside the Top 125 will be busting it hard to get enough points to get inside the playoff cut line. It will be an exciting weekend to watch golf as the television feed usually has hole by hole updated standings throughout the weekend. Here is a look at the FedEx Cup points bubble going into the tournament: As you can see the bubble guys consist of a ton of low end guys in DFS making it a great week to load up on stars and scrubs in GPP formats if you are into the playoff narrative. If you are looking at key stats this week the course is not daunting in length but more setup so that you have to hit your spots to have a shot at the small undulating greens. For this reason I will weigh Driving Accuracy higher than Distance this week. With the smaller greens I will also look more closely at Proximity and more specifically from 150-175 & 175-200 for the longer hitters and 200+ for the shorter hitters. With the course being a Par 70 we have 12 Par 4's so Par 4 Scoring Average will also be heavily weighed this week. Looking...
