While this year's field has just one player(Justin Thomas) ranked inside the Top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings, it is a sneaky strong field with 48 of the Top 100 players. The course is a Par 71 that is listed at 7,017 yards on the scorecard and is made up of four Par 3's, 11 Par 4's, and three Par 5's. This naturally puts emphasis on Par 4 scoring and when breaking that down further, five of those Par 4's are over 450 yards with one over 500 yards. I will also be looking at an off the tee model similar to last week which includes good drive %. Looking at past results and stats, there are plenty of players who hit between 50-60% of fairways but still hit over 70% of greens and finish near the top of the leaderboard. The biggest weight in my model goes towards approach shots and birdie or better % as the average winning score is right around -20 each year. Let's get into the picks. Top Tier Targets Abraham Ancer World Golf Ranking (#14) Vegas Odds (20/1) Draftkings ($10,700) FanDuel ($11,400) Choosing between the Top 3-4 golfers this week is splitting hairs and I will have exposure to all of them in my multi-entry builds but if you are making me choose one(and I know you are), it's Abraham Ancer. After a missed cut and...

The Course Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club Par 70 - 7,041 Yards Greens - **Click the image above to see a hole by hole breakdown from PGATour.com** Top Tier Targets Collin Morikawa World Golf Ranking (#3) Vegas Odds (6/1) Draftkings ($11,200) FanDuel ($12,000) At some point last Friday afternoon at the CJ Cup, the switch was flipped for Morikawa and it came after a bogey, double-bogey, bogey stretch. After that point, he went bogey-free for 42 straight holes with 17 birdies and two eagles to end up with a T2 in his first event since the Ryder Cup. As usual, his success was led by his elite iron game as he gained 4.9 strokes and ranks #1 on my sheet in SG: Approach and SG: Ball Striking. If I was playing multi-entry this week, I would likely be splitting Morikawa/Xander but will be once again be playing lineup and slightly lean Morikawa. Keegan Bradley World Golf Ranking (#84) Vegas Odds (35/1) Draftkings ($9,400) FanDuel ($10,500) I always have to throw a cup of cold water in my face when targeting Keegan at these prices to make sure I am serious and well here we are again. It's tough not to like him when he checks off almost every box starting with the ball striking(9th in the field on my sheet) and with some non-penal rough I am looking closely at Good Drive% and Keegan is 7th in that stat. He is also Top 20 in Par 3, 4, & 5 scoring and is 12th in BoB% in this field. To top it off I ran a comp course and international model on Fantasy National and Keegan is 2nd and 8th in those rankings. All things considered, he will be a core play for me this week in all formats. Mid Tier Target Harry Higgs World Golf Ranking (#112)...

The Course The Summit Club Par 72 - 7,431 Yards Greens - Bentgrass **Click the image above to see a hole by hole breakdown from PGATour.com** For the second year in a row, the CJ Cup will be hosted in Las Vegas, this time at the Summit Club. This is a new course on the PGA Tour rotation so course history is thrown out the window when putting together a model. For narrative purposes, Collin Morikawa and Maverick McNealy are members here at the Summit Club and that will likely help bump up their popularity in the fantasy community. As it always is, the CJ Cup is a no-cut event with 78 players in a very strong field led by seven of the Top 10 and 36 of the Top 50 players in the World. With this being a new course I am keeping my stats model fairly simple. Looking at the hole by hole and some flyovers, it appears the fairways are generous which will lead to the second shot being huge in another potential birdie-fest. This has Strokes Gained: Approach and Birdie or Better % taking up a majority of model. I will then add in some Strokes Gained: Putting on Bentgrass stats, Par 4 Scoring, and Par 5 Birdie or Better%. In terms of lineup construction, these no-cut events really cater to a stars and scrubs build for multiple reasons. First of all, there are usually multiple players in the $6K range(DraftKings) who are normally much higher priced, and second, everyone gets four rounds to rack up birdies taking away the stress of making the cut on Friday afternoon. If you are playing heavy GPP and want to differentiate some, consider constructing some balanced lineups. You can accomplish this by using the filters on our DFS PGA Optimizer tool. With all that...

Top Tier Targets Abraham Ancer World Golf Ranking (#12) Vegas Odds (22/1) Draftkings ($10,400) FanDuel ($11,800) The top tier is loaded this week but like many(looking at FanShare Sports) I am very high on Abraham Ancer who checks every single box. This is his first start of the fall season but finished up last year with a T9 at the Tour Championship and tallied three Top 10's in his final four events including a huge win at the WGC St. Jude Invitational. In this field, he ranks 11th in ball striking on the back of an elite iron game(10th in SG: APP, 4th in Prox) and putter. It's the putter that really has him stand out above the rest of the top tier for me as he is easily #1 in this tier putting on Bentgrass. Ancer also returns to the Shriners with Top 5 finishes in two of the last three years. All things considered, he is my top overall play this week in all formats and I also like sprinkling some outright bets at that #. Si Woo Kim World Golf Ranking (#44) Vegas Odds (40/1) Draftkings ($9,000) FanDuel ($10,300) It is going to be close between Si Woo and Ancer for top-owned play this week and it's easy to why. Like Ancer, Si Woo comes in with terrific form, especially to...

The field is led by the reigning champ, Sergio Garcia, who is among the leaders on the odds board in a weaker field with just one Top 25 player in the world(Sam Burns). This will be the eighth year with the Par 72 Country Club of Jackson hosting this event. It is a longer course, listed at 7,461 yards on the scorecard but hasn't stopped it from being a birdie fest. The winning score has fallen between -16 and -21 in the first seven trips to the course and has only ranked inside the Top 25 hardest courses once in that time. From a stats model perspective, the first thing I am looking at is Strokes Gained: Ball Striking. When breaking that down further, I am leaning on about 70% Strokes Gained: Approach and 30% Strokes Gained: Off the Tee in my model. With shorter rough(2") than the PGA Tour average, it is more of a grip and rip off the tee so I am also giving Driving Distance a boost, as well. On approach, as I say weekly, depends on the player(s) you are targeting. Looking at a group of players who are long off the tee? Concentrate on short to mid-iron proximity ranges. Opposite for guys who are shorter off the tee. Focus on those long-iron ranges. With more low-scoring expected, Birdie or Better...

That right, after a long one-week break we are back kicking off the 2021-22 season a trip to Napa, California for the Fortinet Championship. You may recognize the event more by its former name, the Safeway Open, but the course is the same and has hosted the event since the 2014-15 season. While we have a fairly weak field overall, it is headlined by world #1 Jon Rahm who is also joined by Hideki Matsuyama(#17), Webb Simpson(#22), and Kevin Na(#25), all of whom rank Top 25 in the world golf rankings. Also in the field this week is Will Zalatoris who finished his Korn Ferry Tour career ranked #119th in the world and worked his way all the way inside the Top 30 by the end of the season. Those players will take on the North course at Silverado Resort & Spa which is a Par 72 setup that is listed at 7,123 yards on the scorecard. It is a tree-lined course and while it is one of the shortest on Tour, it has its challenges off the tee with the trees, doglegs, bunkering, and forces positioning much more than distance. I say positioning and not accuracy as we have seen one of the lowest fairway accuracy averages on Tour yet we see one of the highest rates in terms of greens in regulation. This is because the rough is not very penal meaning hitting the fairway isn't crucial(obviously an advantage) but if missing you...
