BMW Championship Welcome back golf fans. The FedEx Cup Playoffs continue this week as the field has been narrowed down to the final 70 golfers as they head to the second last event of the season, the BMW Championship. The course at this event rotates and will be hosted at Aronimink Golf Club this time around and it has not been used on Tour since the 2010(Nick Watney won at -13) and 2011(Justin Rose won at -10) AT&T National events. Using those events as a reference won't be of too much help this week as the course took on a big restoration that started in 2016 by Gil Hanse and saw the fairways widened out with more than 100 bunkers added and the other big change was green sizes being increased. I will be concentrating on Strokes Gained: Approach with emphasis on Proximity as my top stat this week as the fairways hit % should be high. I am thinking the winning score also goes lower than those previous two events here so I will also be looking heavily at Birdie or Better %. Being a Par 70 with 12 par 4's puts emphasis on that as well and if using Fantasy National Golf Club, be sure to look at the Par 4 Scoring from 400-450 yards as seven of the 12 come in that range. With all that said, let's take a look at the course and then break down some of the top picks for this week. The Course Aronimink Golf Club - Newton Square, PA Par 70 - 7,190 Yards Greens - Bentgrass **Click pic above to see a hole by hole breakdown over at PGATour.com** Top Stats in the Model Strokes Gained: Approach Proximity(mid-range) Par 4 Scoring with emphasis on 400-450 yards Birdie or Better % One little note before jumping into the article....

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – Dell Technologies Championship

Dell Technologies Championship Welcome back golf fans. After Bryson DeChambeau closed out the deal on Sunday at The Northern Trust, the PGA Tour Playoffs roll on as the Top 100 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings head to the Dell Technologies Championship. The first note about the field is that Francesco Molinari and Rickie Fowler will not be in the field this week reducing the field to 98 players. With a smaller field and a cut line of the Top 70 and ties at least 71% of the golfers in the field will make the cut this week. Keep in mind that this changes our cash game strategy a bit as just making the cut likely won't be enough for your 6/6 lineups to cash this week and we will need some top finishes. This event, since the beginning of the FedEx Cup Playoffs in 2007, has been hosted at TPC Boston on the Labour Day weekend and is the only event with a Monday finish. This gives us an extra day to tinker with lineups as lineup lock will come early Friday morning. The course is a Par 71 setup that stretches out to 7,342 yards and has tree-lined fairways and Bentgrass greens. With the introduction of the Playoffs, the course was redesigned and "Chocolate Drop Mounds" were added to rough complexes in driving zones which adds some difficulty for players missing the fairways.  The fairways are on the easier side of average to hit but the greens are slightly smaller than average(via Future of Fantasy Golfanac) so when looking at Strokes Gained: Ball Striking, I will have more weight on the Approach shots than Off the Tee. Looking at past course conditions(via Fantasy National), we can see that the Bentgrass greens are not only small but undulated and play very fast so it won't...

Wyndham Championship Welcome back golf fans. The four Major Championships are now in the books for 2018 as overnight leader, Brooks Koepka, held off held off a ton of challenger's to win his second major of the season and third of his career. One of those names he was able to hold off was Tiger Woods who opened the event with a 70 and followed it up with back to back 66's and an incredible final round 64 but eventually came up two strokes short with a runner-up finish. Brooks made the move to #2 in the World while Tiger jumped to #26 which is incredible in itself as he was 650th entering the Hero Challenge at the start of the comeback. This week the PGA Tour travels to Sedgefield Country Club for the Wyndham Championship, the final event before the FedEx Cup Playoffs begin. The narrative everyone will be talking about this week is that the Top 125 golfers get into the playoffs and many of the players on the bubble are in the field this week. Be sure to check that tab out on my sheet. Here is a look at a few on the positive and negative side of that bubble. 120 - Sam Saunders 121 - Bud Cauley(not in field) 122 - Jhonattan Vegas 123 - Seamus Power 124 - Martin Piller 125 - Tyrone Van Aswegen 126 - Chad Campbell 127 - Robert Garrigus 128 - Corey Conners 129 - Nick Taylor 130 - Tom Lovelady As for the course, Sedgefield CC is a Par 70 that sits at 7,127 yards on the scorecard and has four Par 3's, 12 Par 4's, and two Par 5's. The fairways are in the average to easy to hit zone which has me looking more at Strokes Gained: Approach this week when analyzing the Ball Striking...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel – 100th PGA Championship

We have reached the final major of the season as the top players and club professionals will tee it up at the 100th PGA Championship this week. This is another major championship that rotates courses and this year it will be played at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri. The club itself dates back to 1897 and saw a relocation in 1955 and was originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. but the notable thing for researching this week is that it was fully renovated in 2005 by Rees Jones. If you click the course picture below you can check out a flyover video of the course to give you an excellent perspective of the design and what it will take to win here at Bellerive. The first thing to note when looking at the scorecard is that the course is very long and two of the member Par 5's(Hole #4 and Hole #10) have been converted to long Par 4's which makes the course a Par 70 this week. Despite the course being long, it doesn't necessarily mean we are going to target only bombers as the course is very strategically set up. It starts with well-placed bunkers in landing zones that will make the longer hitters think twice about going for broke off the tee and the fairways also narrow dramatically the farther down you go. You will also notice when watching the flyover video that 12 of the holes are doglegs left which calls for a right to left ball flight(draw) for right-handed hitters and a left to right ball flight(fade) for left-handed hitters. The greens are very large with different levels(quadrants) which will also put a ton of emphasis on not just Strokes Gained: Approach but also Proximity. Club selection will also be huge on the approach shots...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel – WGC Bridgestone Invitational

WGC Bridgestone Invitational Welcome back golf fans. It was World #1, Dustin  Johnson, bouncing back in a big way after missing the cut at the OPEN as he went into Glen Abbey and took down the RBC Canadian Open with a winning score -23, three strokes ahead of Byeong Hun An and Whee Kim. It extended his lead in the FedEx Cup standings by over 500 points over Justin Thomas as the Tour heads into the final three events before the Playoffs. This week the best players in the World will meet at Firestone Country Club for its final run as a WGC venue for the Bridgestone Invitational. It is an absolutely loaded field as every player in the Top 50 World Golf Rankings is teeing it up at Firestone this week including Tiger Woods who has won here eight times and won a WGC event 18 times. The tournament also has just a 73-man field which means there will be no cut this week and all players will get a full four rounds of golf. The course is a monstrous 7,400 yards long, especially considering it is only a Par 70. The added distance on the Par 5, 16th hole(667 yards) doesn't aid the bombers as it will still be a three-shot hole for almost everyone in the field. We have seen both bombers and shorter, course management players do well here over the years and a lot of that has to do with the tree-lined fairways which are very narrow putting a ton of emphasis on not just hitting them but also in the right areas. The greens will be firm and fast and while they are bigger than average, they have run offs around the green which makes them play smaller and puts emphasis on Proximity when looking at Strokes Gained: Approach. The other thing to...

Last week was another perfect example of how the weather can change on a dime on a links course, especially in Scotland. We saw a baked out and super fast opening round, a rainy and wet second round, a low-scoring third round, and a very windy final round. After the first two days, we saw three(Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas) of the World's Top 5 golfers miss the cut along with some other notables in Brandon Grace(#35), Sergio Garcia(#19), Hideki Matsuyama(#16), and Bubba Watson(#13) to name a few.  One of the hottest players on the planet, Francesco Molinari, came out on top grabbing his first career Major Championship with an incredible finish posting a 65, 69 on the weekend to win by two strokes. This week the PGA Tour heads to Canada and the Glen Abbey Golf Club for the 109th RBC Canadian Open. It will be the 30th time Glen Abbey has hosted the National Open and if you are looking at more recent course history be sure to look at only 2017, 2016, 2015, 2013, 2008, and 2009 as the course has rotated in those other years. It is a Par 72 setup that stretches just over 7,200 yards which is on the shorter end of things for a Par 72 but has plenty of defenses. The Jack Nicklaus design has narrow, tree-lined fairways with 80+ bunkers scattered around the course with water coming into play on just less than half the holes. Wind and rain, as always, will play large as well and looking at the winning scores this is clear. The course played soft last year and Vegas won with a -21 winning score while the year before it was more firm and fast and he won with a score of -12. The early forecast is showing...
