Mayakoba Classic After an off week for fantasy, we are back as the PGA Tour heads to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico for the Mayakoba Classic(formerly the OHL Classic). Matt Kuchar returns to defend his title after posting a tournament record winning score of -22 a year ago and he joins Tony Finau as the only players inside the Top 25 of the Official World Golf Rankings in the field. After three straight no-cut events we are also back to a full field(almost) of 132 players with a cut of Top 65 and ties after round two on Friday. El Cameleon Golf Club is a shorter Par 71 setup that falls just below 7,000 yards on the scorecard. Being that it is shorter in length and has narrower than average fairways, we tend to see golfers go with a "less than driver" strategy off the tee which has generated an average driving accuracy over 60% when looking at the last five years results. With that in mind, this will most likely come down to the mid-iron and wedge game so my top-weighted stat this week will be Strokes Gained: Approach. With an average winning score of -19 over the last five years, I will also be weighing Birdie or Better % quite high as there are usually at least 5-10 players who tally 20 or more birdies over the week with a whopping 31 doing it last year. The Par 5's are all reachable in two which helps that birdie number but I will be focusing on Par 4 scoring in my model as these are the harder holes on the course and the place where golfers can separate themselves from the pack. With that, let's take a look at the course setup, previous winners, key stats, and then jump into the core picks. The Course El Camaleon Golf Club - Playa Del Carmen, Mexico...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – WGC HSBC Championship

WGC HSBC Championship The Asian Swing comes to a close this week as the PGA Tour heads to Sheshan International Golf Club for WGC HSBC Champions event. This is another smaller field, no-cut event where all golfers will play four rounds and we are gifted with another strong field highlighted by Rory McIlroy(#2), Justin Rose(#8), and Xander Scauffele(#9) who are all inside the Top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings. The course is a Par 72 that is listed at 7,261 yards and while that is average for distance, the setup is unique and can play much longer. For instance, all four Par 3's are 200 yards or more yards and five of the 10 Par 4's are over 450 yards. While the fairways are narrow and have generated a low 52% driving accuracy over the last six years, distance is definitely an advantage as the rough has not been very penal. This doesn't mean short players can't have success here just make sure they are on with their long irons. The course has ranked 3rd, 13th, and 25th hardest in terms of average scoring over the last three years but golfers will need a ton of birdies to hoist the trophy with an average winning score of -18 over the last six years. There has also been at least five golfers(11 in 2016) with 20+ birdies in four straight events here. With that, let's get into the picks. Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – The Zozo Championship

Chris is also providing his DFS PGA Weekly cheatsheet where he provides stats, course history, current form, fantasy points, and much more. Grab your copy today and edge out the competition. The Zozo Championship This week the PGA Tour's Asian Swing continues with a brand new event, the Zozo Championship, hosted at the Acocrdia Golf Narashino Country Club in Chiba, Japan. This will be another small-field, no-cut event headlined by Rory McIlroy(#2), Justin Thomas(#4), Xander Schauffele(#8), and Tiger Woods(#10) who all rank inside the Top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings. They are also joined by 27 other players ranked inside the Top 50 OWGR bringing us the strongest field(average 81 OWGR) since the Tour Championship. Not only is this a new event on a new course to almost all the players, but it is also a very unique setup. In terms of length, the Par 70 course is pretty standard at 7,041 yards but breaking it down there are five Par 3's and three Par 5's which does throw a bit of a twist into things(I love twists!). After studying the course with the help of the awesome flyovers on the ZozoChampionship website, players will face smaller than average fairways which will have some players using a "less than driver" strategy but that only goes so far as five of the Par 4's on this course come in over 480 yards. Ball striking is at a premium this week with the edge going to the approach and especially in the long iron department. The most interesting thing about this course is that every hole has two greens(only one used per round obviously) which gives the setup team a ton of combinations for pin locations each day. The other big thing to track this week is the weather which could greatly affect the winning score and overall difficulty of this course. Using Windfinder, we see that winds are projected to get up Thursday afternoon and then climb even higher on Friday after(see forecast below). If this forecast stays relatively close to what we...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – The C.J. Cup @ Nine Bridges

Cup @ Nine Bridges This week the PGA Tour travels to Jeju Island, South Korea for the CJ Cup. This is an invitational, no-cut event that will see all players(outside of any who WD) play four rounds on the beautiful Club at Nine Bridges course. The field is led by two Top 5 players in the World in Brooks Koepka(#1) and Justin Thomas(#5) who also happen to be the only two winners at this event as it makes its third appearance on the schedule. The Club @ Nine Bridges is a shorter Par 72 setup that comes in just under 7,200 yards. The biggest thing to point out when looking at the course is that it played much different in each event and that can be directly correlated to the wind. It was strong for most of the week in 2017 when Justin Thomas won with a score of -9 and last year it was calm throughout the event as Brooks rolled to a convincing four-stroke victory with a winning score of -21. Early forecasts are showing 8-12 mph winds pretty much all weekend so it is likely we see a score closer to last year in the -15 to -20 range. Off the tee, golfers will see average-sized fairways that are protected by a ton of bunkers(101 in total on course), some water(11 hazards), and some thick rough(listed at 3.25 inches). These challenges off the tee plus the distance boost due to elevation will have a ton of players using a "Less than Driver" strategy and it shows as the average fairways hit has been over 70% both years. This also shifts a ton of weight to the approach shot this week and especially Proximity as the greens are huge(7,800 sq ft on average). The other thing that comes into play with huge greens is avoiding three-putts....

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – Houston Open

Houston Open After a Kevin Na playoff win over Patrick Cantlay at the Shriners Open, the PGA Tour fall season continues with a trip to Humble, Texas for the Houston Open. It is an event making its Fall debut and was normally played in late March/early April and was a favorite stop of many were preparing for the Masters the following week. With the scheduling change, there are a few changes overall with the biggest being the field and lack of depth at the top as none of the Top 35 players and just two of the Top 50 in the World are teeing it up this week. The Golf Club of Houston is a Par 72 setup that stretches out to a listed 7,441 yards on the scorecard(from last event). The fairways widths here are about average and looking at the last five events here, the average driving accuracy was slightly over 60% for the field and closer to 65% for the cut makers. There are definitely some challenges on some of the holes with bunkers in key landing areas and like Hole #1, on both sides of the fairway. With this course annually set up to somewhat resemble Augusta the rough was always low and could be grown out a bit more this year but should still offer easier than average approaches if a golfer should miss the fairway. This puts more weight on Strokes Gained: Approach for me when breaking down the Ball Striking stats this week. Speaking of those approach shots, the greens here at GC of Houston are much larger than average(7,500 sq ft) and many of them are multi-tiered and this brings in the importance of not just hitting the green(70%+ GIR annually) but getting it close to the pin(Proximity). When it comes to difficulty, the course has ranked outside the Top 23 in each of the last...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – Shriners Hospitals for Children Open

Shriners Hospitals for Children Open This week the PGA Tour travels to TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. World #1 golfer, Brooks Koepka, headlines the strongest field of the fall season and the last two winners of this event, Patrick Cantlay(#7 OWGR) and Bryson DeChambeau(#10 OWGR) will also be teeing it up this week. TPC Summerlin is a Par 71 setup that stretches just over 7,250 yards. As you can tell by the previous winning scores, this turns into a birdie fest quite fast if the wind stays down. It has ranked outside the Top 30 in difficulty in five of the last six years with the one outlier being two years ago where Patrick Cantlay won with a -9 in a very windy event. I will be tracking the weather forecast closely leading up to lineup lock but the early forecast from Windfinder is showing a slight advantage to the early Friday tee times with winds expected to climb up to 15 mph in the afternoon with gusts of up to 20 mph. Looking at the last five years stats and results and taking out the 2017 outlier(high winds) the average driving accuracy has been about average(55%-60%) which makes sense as the fairways are slightly wider than average on most holes. Like most modern designs, the fairways do tighten up after the 300-yard mark but with average rough length that won't hinder players a whole lot, the bombers will have no fear of taking it deep even if it means hitting their approach shot from the rough. This puts most of my ball striking weight this week towards Strokes Gained: Approach and with larger than average green sizes(7,570 square feet), I will also be looking closely at Proximity especially in the mid-distance ranges(125-150 and 150-175 yards). With a high chance we see a winning...
