We were not only treated to an elite field but one heck of a finish on Sunday that had started with 14 players all within three strokes of the lead. It was Xander Schauffele with the one-stroke lead being chased by an elite group led by Rory McIlroy, Gary Woodland, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Justin Rose, Bryson DeChambeau and 18/36 hole leader, Harold Varner III. Xander ended up missing a short putt on 17 leading to a bogey and eventually missing a playoff but one stroke. it turned out being Morikawa and Berger going to extra holes where a short miss by Morikawa led to a Daniel Berger hoisting the hardware, his third career win. The re-structured schedule takes the PGA Tour to Harbour Town Golf Links this week for the RBC Heritage which was originally set to take place back in April. The course is a Pete Dye design which, like last week, puts emphasis on precision and accuracy much more than distance. It shows in the results as each of the last five winners(farthest I went back) averaged 280 yards or less in terms of driving distance for the week. In fact, during those last five events, the Top 10 finishers averaged between 280...

Head on over to my Patreon Page GOLF IS BACK! Ok, what I really mean is that PGA is back as I will admit I enjoyed researching and learning about the Outlaw Tour and Golden State Tour's. I am a stats junkie, however, so getting the full PGA Tour stats database back in our favor has me jumping up and down like my dad in a Harley Davidson shop. Part two of the 2020 season takes the Tour to Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas for the Charles Schwab Challenge. The fans are not the only ones excited and it shows by the elite field consisting of each of the World's Top 5 players(McIlroy, Rahm, Koepka, Thomas, Johnson). Overall, there are 17 of the Top 25 and 37 of the Top 50 players in the World teeing up this week at Colonial. While the name has changed, this event has been played at Colonial going all the way back to 1970. The course is a Par 70 posted at 7,209 yards on the scorecard and is much more of a precision style course than a bombers paradise. Tight, tree-lined fairways with well-placed fairway bunkers make placement off the tee key to have access to the smaller than average bentgrass greens. One of the biggest defenses of the course is the wind and it shows in the inconsistent winning scores over the years ranging from -10 to -21 over the past 10 years. Twice it has ranked Top 10 in difficulty but on average is more around Top15 in difficulty. From a fantasy standpoint, I will be looking at more of a long term model this week with the long lay-off but there are a few stats that I will be concentrating on and it starts with Par 4 scoring as there are 12 on this Par 70 setup. Seven of those par 4's come in the 400-450 yard...

Return to Racing at Darlington It's finally here and I have close to the same kind of feeling as Daytona week as we have pretty much went through an entire second offseason. NASCAR will be one of the first sports back in action this weekend at Darlington which will start a stretch of four races for the Cup Series in 10 days on two tracks(Charlotte the other). Like I mentioned in my "NASCAR Update Article", there will be no practices as these will be one-day events and the only race with qualifying will be the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte next Sunday. As of Monday, May 11, NASCAR has yet to release how qualifying will work but my guess is that we will have this data days before the race giving us plenty of time to analyze the data and build lineups. There will be an added variance from a fantasy perspective with the return to racing with no practice or qualifying but given we have playing iRacing DFS which was a whole new level of variance, I am not worried at all. It's all about the data and we have lots of it here at Darlington and in NASCAR in general. Let's dig in and look at some of the data leading up to the race and make sure to tune in Sunday morning for the pre-race/pre-lock Live show on my YouTube channel. Daily Fantasy League of Legends Picks for DraftKings 3/28/20
Daily Fantasy League of Legends Picks for DraftKings 3/28/20 Welcome back League of Legends fans. Being cooped up inside for the last 13 days I didn't even realize it was the weekend again until I saw the LEC and LCS slates. This is what my life has become. How are you all holding up through this? First up on Saturday is a five-game LEC slate starting at 12 pm ET followed but a five-game LCS slate at 5 pm ET. Both leagues are one-game matches and overall, this is why I look at stats on a per-game basis rather than per match. With that said let's jump in and take a look at a few core teams to target in both leagues. Premium DFSR members get access to my expert sheets as a part of their membership. That's a $10 value every single month, just for signing up for a DFSR membership! Want my sheets on their own? Head on over to my Patreon Page. LEC Slate Fnatic vs. Team Vitality As always I will start with my favorite team on the slate and for the LEC that is Fnatic who come into this one tied for 2nd in the league with a 13-4 record(76%). They have already beat Team Vitality handily this season, come in off two straight wins since the break and seven of their last eight overall. They have a huge advantage in every area starting with kills per game as they average 14.6(3rd best in league) while Team Vitality sits 2nd last in both kills(7.2) and deaths(14.9) per game. Fnatic also has a huge advantage in golf differential(181 to -264), towers per game(7.6 to 3.1), and dragons per game(3.1 to 1.3). Look for them to dominate. Players to Target From a PTS/$ perspective, I start with Bwipo(TOP) who has been awesome since the break with 13 kills, 21 assists, and just five deaths in three games for an average of 30.5 fantasy points per game. I would even consider him in the Captain spot for cash games on DraftKings for salary relief. Rekkles(ADC) is up next as he is 5th in FanDuel and 4th in DraftKings points per game on the season and since the break has tallied 12 kills, 20 assists, and just one death in three games. Nemesis(MID) comes at a big discount and can rack up the points in the middle and makes a nice option and Hylissang(SUP) is ranked #2 at the position today but 3rd in price on DK and 4th on FD. FC Schalke 04 vs. Rogue For my second pick, I am targeting an underdog in FC Schalke for a couple reason starting with their form. They are...

Premium DFSR members get access to my expert sheets as a part of their membership. That's a $10 value every single month, just for signing up for a DFSR membership! Want my sheets on their own? Head on over to my Patreon Page This week the PGA Tour heads to TPC Sawgrass for The PLAYERS Championship and one of the strongest fields in golf. Each of the Top 10 and 47 of the Top 50 players in the world are teeing it up this week and 110 players in the field have at least one PGA Tour win. TPC Sawgrass is a Par 72 listed at 7,189 yards on the scorecard and is a classic Pete Dye design with tight fairways, Bermuda rough(2.5 inches on average), and small Bermuda greens(5,500 sq feet on average). Accuracy off the tee is very important if you want a decent lie and opportunity to hit the smaller greens and this leads to a fairly heavy "less than driver" strategy for most of the field. The second key here is the approach shot to the smaller greens and this is where the winners have mostly separated themselves in past years. Five of the 10 Par 4's are also 450+ yards so there will also be a lot of approaches coming from 175+ yards so players will need to be on with their long irons. With the smaller greens, there is going to be a lower Greens in Regulation % which means getting up and down is very important so Scrambling/Strokes Gained: Around the Green is weighted heavy in my model as well. Finally, with a winning score in the mid-teens on average year to year, Birdie or Better % is a great stat to look at as well, especially if you are playing showdown contests on DraftKings. From a cash game lineup construction perspective, I always like going balanced and this week it makes even more sense as the strong field has lowered the prices on some top players. For GPP formats, balanced also works but stars and scrubs is likely preferred and is easy to do as there are...

Head on over to my Patreon Page The Florida swing continues this week with a trip to Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Florida for the Arnold Palmer Invitational. A loaded field of 121 players is led by World #1 Rory McIlroy and consists of four other players(Koepka, Scott, Reed, Fleetwood) inside the Top 10 in the Official World Golf Rankings. Bay Hill became the host course for this event back in 1979 and has been a staple on Tour ever since. It is a par 72 setup that has a posted distance of 7,454 yards on the scorecard and has ranked Top 15 in difficulty over the last three years(8th, 15th, 9th). The difficulty comes from the number of long iron shots players are forced to hit and it starts with the Par 3's as they are all over 190 yards with three of them 215 yards or longer. The trend continues on the Par 4's as five of the 10 are longer than 450 yards. Looking at the approach shot distribution(pictured below via FNGC), almost 32% of all approaches come from the 200+ yard range. Long irons are the key this week with Strokes: Gained Approach sitting #1 in my model with emphasis on Proximity from the 200+ yard range. Despite the overall difficulty ranking I mentioned above, we have seen the winning score reach double digits in eight straight year and almost reach -20 on a few occasions(Rory McIlroy -18 in 2018, Jason Day -17 in 2016, Matt Every -19 in 2015). This keeps Birdie or Better % fairly high in the model, especially considering the correlation to fantasy scoring, but I will have some Bogey Avoidance in there as well. With all that, let's jump in and take a look at some core plays at each price point. The Course Bay Hill Club & Lodge - Orlando, FL Par 72 - 7,454 yards Greens...
