Consumers Energy 400 This week the Monster Energy Cup Series heads back to Michigan for the second time this season after Joey Logano dominated from the pole leading 163 laps en route to the win the June race. With only four races remaining in the regular season, things are getting intense and a lot of that boiled over last week. It started with an incident involving Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Blaney which led to a heated discussion on pit road. Then there was Kyle Busch getting involved with not only William Byron but also Bubba Wallace, who both sent the #18 spinning gaining a ton of fans in the process. Emotions are running hot, especially for those fighting for points to make the playoffs so before we get into the race at Michigan, let's look at the drivers around that playoff bubble. 12th - William Byron(604 pts) 13th - Erik Jones(598 pts) 14th - Kyle Larson(590 pts) 15th - Clint Bowyer(556 pts) 16th - Ryan Newman(544 pts) 17th - Jimmie Johnson(544 pts) 18th - Daniel Suarez(521 pts) Very similar to the last three races(Watkisn Glen, Pocono, New Hampshire), Michigan is another track where track position is huge. Looking at the last six races here, there have been at least five drivers to start and finish Top 10 in each of those races with six more drivers doing so four times. The correlation between starting and finishing position is one of the highest in NASCAR ranging from .585 to .810 over those six races. The winner has also come from the pole position in six of the last 12 races and from a Top 10 starting position nine times. With 200 laps in the race, dominator points are going to be a story when talking fantasy. More recently it has been a one dominator race as one driver has led 100 or more laps in two straight and three of the last four and only once in those four races have multiple drivers led...

The Northern Trust The long grind of the PGA Tour regular season is now over and the Top 125 players will now battle it out in a three-week, three-event showdown for the Tour Championship crown and a $15,000,000 payday. Before getting into this week's breakdown and picks, let's quickly go over the format for the FedEx Cup Playoffs which have been tweaked in 2019. First of all, the Playoffs have been moved up a month and with the combination of moving to three events instead of four, the season will wrap up by the end of August this season. This likely has some correlation to the Olympics coming next season which has pushed the Fall season to 11 events starting in September(eight this year). The Top 125 make the Northern Trust this week with the Top 70 in the standings making the BMW Championship next week and the Top 30 making the Tour Championship. The other big change is the somewhat simplification of the Tour Championship structure. Win the tournament and you are the FedEx Cup champion. It's that simple and no more multiple leaderboards to track. The only funky part of the new structure is the bonus scores that golfers will receive depending on their place in the standings. Enter the Tour Championship in 1st and you start the event with a score of -10, 2nd starts at -8 and so on with 26th-30th starting at even par. A complete breakdown can be found on the PGA Tour website. It all starts this week with The Northern Trust and the frist trip back to Liberty National Golf Club since the 2013 and 2009 Barclay's which also opened the Playoffs those seasons. The course will play almost the same as in 2013 but will be a Par 71 this time around with some length added as well. Looking at the stats from the...

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Race Preview & Picks for DraftKings – Go Bowling at the Glen

Go Bowling at the Glen With five races remaining in the regular season, the Monster Energy Cup Series heads to Watkins Glen, New York for the Go Bowling at the Glen this Sunday afternoon. Before we get into the race let's talk about the Playoffs and more specifically what we could see this weekend for strategy. I have drivers broken down into groups this week and for a more complete breakdown, you can grab a copy of my notes provided in the member's chatroom. For starters, you have a group of drivers who already have a win and are looking for nothing more than....wait for it....more wins, and of course, the crucial playoff points that come with it and stage wins. The upside is obvious here. The next group of drivers are those fighting for playoff points. Their strategies could most definitely be swayed towards picking up stage points which could hurt their overall finish position/fantasy upside, especially here where track position is so crucial. It will really come down to whether they decide they have a car to win after practice or not. Stay tuned. The final group are drivers more than 60 points outside the cutline and pretty are pretty much in a win or go home(not literally) mode. From a fantasy perspective, there are only 90 laps in the race so dominator points are somewhat downgraded this week. I say "somewhat" because we can't completely rule them out as multiple drivers have led 20 or more laps in each of the last six races and that can give your driver an advantage when it comes to fantasy scoring coming down to fractions of points. Again, stay tuned for practice speeds and the final update on the cheatsheet. Place differential used to be a thing here as the 2013, 2014, and 2015 races saw 10 or more drivers pick up double-digit PD in each. Then 2016 saw seven drivers grab double-digit PD points followed by just two drivers in...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – Wyndham Championship

Wyndham Championship With just one week left in the regular season, the PGA Tour heads to Sedgefield Country Club for the Wyndham Championship. For those golfers outside the Top 125 in the FedEx Cup standings, it will be their final opportunity to play their way into the Northern Trust next week. For reference, I have added the FedEx Cup rankings to the sheet. Sedgefield CC is a Donald Ross designed Par 70 that is just over 7,100 yards. Off the tee, golfers will see narrow fairways with risk-reward options on some holes in terms of how much you want to challenge the water/creeks. This, as designed by Ross, puts a ton of emphasis on not only hitting the fairway but positioning yourself for a clear approach shot. After a strong mix of ball striking stats in my model, I will be adding some scrambling and a lot of weight to birdie or better % as the average winning score has been -20 over the last five years. For Par 4 scoring, I will be looking at the 400-450 yard range as eight of the 12 holes fall into this distance range. There are only two Par 5's on the course but they are, by far, the easiest holes on the course and with a ton of eagles made on these holes, I will be looking at Par 5 Birdie or Better % not just Par 5 scoring. With that, let's jump in and look at some course info and trends and then some core plays in each price range. The Course Sedgefield Country Club Par 70 - 7,127 yards Greens -Bermuda **Click the image above to see a hole by hole breakdown from PGATour.com** Previous Five Winners 2018 - Brandt Snedeker(-21) 2017 - Henrik Stenson(-22) 2016 - Si Woo Kim(-21) 2015 - Davis Love III(-17) 2014 - Camillo Villegas(-17) Top Stats in the Model...

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Race Preview & Picks for DraftKings – Gander RV 400

Gander RV 400 This week the Monster Energy Cup Series heads back to the Tricky Triangle for the second time for the Gander RV 400 this Sunday afternoon. This time around the track will be adding a layer of the PJ1 compound in an effort to once again create more passing and better overall racing. It will be applied to the high groove in turns one and three and in the middle groove in turn two. Hopefully the race turns out like last week where we saw a whopping 14 drivers make at least 50 green flag passes led by Ryan Newman(90) who had to start from the rear to begin with, had an engine go down that they repaired to get him back on track and ending up with an amazing 7th place finish. Speaking of the race at New Hampshire last weekend, we saw some very disappointing finishes from from Kyle Larson(33rd), Ricky Stenhouse Jr(36th), Jimmie Johnson(30th), Austin Dillon(32nd), and Clint Bowyer(20th) who are all winless and hovering around the playoff bubble with six races to go in the regular season. Let's take a look in and around the bubble heading into this final stretch(Top 16 make the Playoffs). 13th - Kyle Larson(519 points) 14th - Erik Jones(516 points) 15th - Ryan Newman(509 points) 16th - Clint Bowyer(505 points) 17th - Jimmie Johnson(488 points) 18th - Daniel Suarez(488 points) From a fantasy perspective, track position is very important as it is one of the highest correlated tracks when looking at start position to finish position. Taking it further we have seen seven of the Top 10 finishers coming from a Top 10 starting position in five of the last six races here. The one race we did see a ton of place differential was the second race here last year where more than a dozen drivers failed inspection and started in the rear. Looking at dominator points, only once in the last six races has a driver led 100 or more...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational

WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational After an incredible OPEN Championship in Northern Ireland, the top players in the world return to the United States for the final World Golf Championship of the season. This year presents a little bit of a change as this event which used to be the WGC Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone CC is now the WGC FedEx St. Jude Invitational at TPC Southwind. The name may sound familiar as TPC Southwind has hosted the FedEx St. Jude Classic since 1989 and the only real difference here is the invitational status as 64 players will be teeing it up this week. This week's 64-player field includes eight of the Top 10(Tiger, Molinari missing) and 46 of the World's Top 50 players. Justin Thomas is the defending champion of the WGC Bridgestone Invitational but Dustin Johnson is the defending champion at TPC Southwind as he won the ST. Jude Classic a year ago with a winning score of -19 which was the lowest winning score here since 2003(David Toms @ -20). For the most part at TPC Southwind, we have seen winning scores in the -10 range as this course has ranked inside the Top 15 hardest courses on Tour over the last five years. The Par 70 setup is just over 7,200 yards has some very tight driving holes that produce a low average of about 55% driving accuracy rate for the field. Hitting the fairway is not crucial, however, like some other venues we have seen as the rough is not nearly as penal(2.5" approximately) but those who hit more fairways will put themselves in a better position to hit the smaller than average greens and drain birdies. With shorter, more playable rough combine with a low average driving accuracy for the field, it also makes sense to look at Rough Proximity this week. The most important...
