Head on over to my Patreon Page It wasn't exactly the finish I had hoped for at the Genesis Invitational but it was awesome to see Adam Scott grab his first PGA Tour win since 2016 as he edged out Sung Kang, Matt Kuchar, and Scott Brown by one stroke. This week is one of four weeks this season with multiple tournaments going on so buckle up and get ready for tons of golf action. In this article, I will be concentrating on the WGC Mexico Championship which has, by far, the best contests this week. That is largely due to the elite field which shows up for the WGC events and this one gives us seven of the Top 10 and 20 of the Top 25 golfers in World(via OWGR). This WGC event has been played in Mexico at the Club de Golf Chapultepec since 2017 so we are starting to get a nice sample size of course history and that narrative is most definitely led by the top players in the field as Rory, DJ, and JT have yet to finish outside the Top 10 in eight combined appearances. The par 71 course is listed at 7,330 yards on the scorecard but playing at almost 7,500 feet of elevation has it playing more like 6,500 yards. This shows in the average driving distance as only six players last year averaged under 300 yard for the tournament. Running the stats over the three years, I have also noticed Strokes Gained: Approach to be a little more correlated than Off the Tee and Par 4 Scoring almost double as important as par 5 scoring. This would be due to a couple of things including there only being three par 5's and around 56% of all birdies coming on the Par 4's. There are also six of the 11 par 4's that are under 410 yards so that will be...

Daytona 500 The long offseason came to an end last week as the NASCAR haulers rolled into Daytona Beach last week. It all got started with the wreck-fest that was the Busch Clash last Sunday and that was also preceded by Daytona 500 qualifying which set the front row for the big race. The track was then quiet for a few days(for Cup cars) before last night's Duel Qualifying races which set the rest of the field for Sunday's race. Before getting into the picks, let's break down the track and some strategies we can use for daily fantasy. First of all, Daytona International Speedway is a 2.5-mile Superspeedway with 31 degrees of banking in the corners. The track produces some of the fastest speeds in NASCAR which is why engines are equipped with a tapered spaced(formerly a restrictor plate) and a larger rear spoiler to help keep the cars from taking off like an airplane. This style of racing also leads to large packs of cars drafting off each other which in turn leads to some different strategies we don't see on non-superspeedway tracks. Team and manufacturer alliances really come into play here and that has already been huge as we saw Denny Hamlin push Erik Jones to victory in the Clash, then we saw Aric Almirola push Joey Logano to victory in Duel #1 and a Chevy vs. Ford battle in Duel #2 with William Byron coming out on top. For fantasy, this means stacking in our lineups to possibly capitalize on a strong run from one team or manufacturer. You aren't just going to blindly stack any team, however, as other strategies come into play as well and...

GOALIE Andrei Vasilevskiy FD - $9300 DK - $8500 Opponent - EDM Proj Pts FD - 25.04 DK - 18.88 Vasilevskiy is the most expensive option on both sites and for good reason, as he has returned to Vezina form in a huge way since early December going 20-1-2 in his last 23 starts with an impressive .934 save %. He enters tonight's matchup as an early -205 home favorite as the Oilers come to town without arguably the best player in the world in Connor McDavid who is out 2-3 weeks with a quad injury. Despite some amazing values on both sites tonight, I am locked into Vasilevskiy as my top goalie in all options. Elvis Merzlikins FD - $8800 DK - $7300 Opponent - BUF Proj Pts FD - 21.39 DK - 16.37 One of those values that immediately jumped off the page when I loaded data into the sheet was Elvis Merlizikins in the low $7K range on DraftKings. Joonas Korpisalo is traveling with the team but still unlikely to get a start on Thursday which would get Merlikins another start and he has been nothing short of incredible in Korpisalo's absence. He is coming off back to back losses(one in OT) but only allowed two goals in each of those games and now has a ridiculous .959 save % over his last 10 starts with five(5!!) shutouts. The only hesitation is the start comes on the road but the good news is that he faces the 21st ranked offense in Buffalo. He is GPP only for me on FanDuel but is in play in all formats on DraftKings at just $7,300. Mackenzie Blackwood FD - $7500 DK - $7800 Opponent - DET Proj Pts FD - 20.11 DK - 14.62 On FanDuel, the value play I am targeting is Blackwood who...

Before this season it was a 144-man open field but will now consist of 121 invited players(119 in the field) in an absolutely stacked field led by nine of the Top 10 players in the World. From a DFS standpoint especially, this week feels like a major in terms of pricing as there are a ton of players who have seen $500 to $1000 drops in price compared to the other events to start the season. This most definitely opens up a more balanced lineup construction but it also helps in stars and scrubs builds as the scrubs aren't that scrubby(compared to other weeks). The thing I am most excited about this week is that we are back to a single course and 54-hole cut(Top 65 and ties) after another multi-course rotation last week. Riviera Country Club has been the host course at this event going all the way back to 1973 when it was the Northern Trust Open. It held that name up until 2017 when it changed to the Genesis Open for each of the last two years. In terms of difficulty, the course has ranked as a Top 10 hardest course on Tour in two straight and three of the past five years, ranking 21st and 23rd in the other two years. The fairways are tight, the Kikuyu rough can be tricky to play out of in certain spots, and the greens are also smaller than Tour average which leads to a tougher event overall. Looking at some stats over the last five years of play here, the average fairways hit has been between 50-55% and the average Greens in Regulation in the 55-60% range. Despite this, the winning score has hit double digits in each of the last four years...
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 2/6/20
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 2/6/20 After a slow Wednesday on the ice, we are back with a huge 12 game slate on Thursday with no teams on a back to back and just one team(FLA) playing a third game in four nights. Let's dig in and take a look at some core plays for DraftKings and FanDuel at each position. Premium DFSR members get access to my expert sheets as a part of their membership. GOALIE Carey Price FD - $8700 DK - $8300 Opponent - ANA Proj Pts FD - 22.43 DK - 16.7 For a while, it appeared the Habs would not win another game(joking mostly) but they have bounced back in a big way winning seven of their last 10 games. Not only has the offense stepped up, Price has been terrific posting a .940 save % and two shutouts in his last 10 starts for an average of 19.4 DK/24.9 FD points per game. Tonight the Habs are at home as big -185 favorites against a Ducks team that ranks 28th in road offense scoring just 2.3 goals per game. The Price is right is tonight and he is a go in all formats. Brian Elliott FD - $8000 DK - $8200 Opponent - NJ Proj Pts FD - 19.49 DK - 13.92 Speaking of teams rising fast in the standings on the back of a hot goalie, the Flyers come into this one with a 7-2-1 record over their last 10 games. Elliott has been getting the lion's share of the work between the pipes lately with Carter Hart injured and comes into this one with shutouts in two of his last three starts and has won four of his last five. Like Price, he also gets a plus matchup against a Devils team that has lost six of their last seven games and rank 25th in road offense on the season scoring just 2.4 goals per game. I prefer Price in cash games on DraftKings but the decision is a little closer on FanDuel given Elliott comes at a $800 discount. Also Consider: Semyon Varlamov/Thomas Greiss(NYI) in a plus matchup at home vs. the Kings 27th...
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Head on over to my Patreon Page After a four-day party in Phoenix, the PGA Tour heads back to California for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. This means we are back to a multi-course rotation with three being used this week much like the Desert Classic. Each player/pro-am partner will get one round on each of Pebble Beach GL, Monterey Peninsula CC, and SpyGlass Hill GC with a cut of Top 60 and ties being made after the third round on Saturday. The final round will be played on Pebble Beach GL. The field is led Dustin Johnson(#5) and Patrick Cantlay(#7) who are the only two players teeing up this week ranked Top 10 in the World. Overall, the field is much weaker than it was last season but a large part of that was players using this event as a tune-up for the 2019 US Open at Pebble Beach in June. One thing is for sure, no matter the field strength, this is a frustrating event to track either on TV or online. Pebble Beach is the only course of the three with Shot Tracker and watching the telecast is painful as it comes with constant sub-par swings from celebs combined with constant shots of the ocean and interviews of CEO's. I suggest plugging a lineup in and tuning in Sunday for the final round. Looking at the courses, all three come in under 7,000 yards and from a complete tournament standpoint has seen fairways hit and greens in regulation around 70% or more in both areas. This easier setup has led to an average winning score of -19 over the last five years. Pebble Beach has played as the hardest of the three in each of the last two years and in three of the last six but the gap between it and SpyGlass Hill...
