He not only won his first Green Jacket but blew the field way by five strokes and only tallied four bogeys the entire event. Amazing week! Deleting the Masters App from all my devices, however, is like saying goodbye to a close friend I won't see for a long time. The good news here with the Fall Masters is that the next one is only 142 days away! This week the PGA Tour heads to Sea Island Resort for the RSM Classic and while it's not the Masters, the field is very solid with two Top 10(Webb, Hatton) and 20 of the Top 50 players in the World teeing it up this week. Let's get started by looking at the courses(that's right, multi-course rotation szn). The Course This is a week where a multi-course rotation is used for the first two days. Each golfer will play one round on the Seaside course and one round on the Plantation course on Thursday and Friday and all golfers who make the cut(Top 65 & ties) will play their final two rounds on the Seaside course only. The two-course rotation at this event started back in 2015 with just the Seaside course used in previous years. Let's take a look at the courses with the most emphasis going into the Seaside which will host three of the four rounds. Sea Island Resort(Seaside Course) Par 70 - 7,005 Yards The Seaside Course is a Links-Style Par 70 that comes in on the shorter side at just over 7,000 yards....

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – The Masters

It will be a bit different this time around but what about 2020 has been normal? One thing will remain the same and that is an elite field of players teeing it up on the most famous course in the World. Augusta National Golf Club may look a bit different in the Fall but it will still play like it always has, tough! That's right, ANGC has ranked 16th, 7th, 2nd, 3rd, and 14th hardest over the last five years. The first thing I look at when putting my model together is distance as the course is a Par 72 that stretches out to almost 7,500 yards while having some generous fairways to hit. One thing we always here about in relation to the off the tee game is a right to left ball flight(draw for RH golfers, fade for LH golfers) as there are six Par 4's and two Par 5's that are shaped this way. It isn't everything but Tiger Woods(x4), Patrick Reed(2018), Sergio Garcia(2017), Bubba Watson(x2), Phil Mickelson(x3), Zach Johnson(2007), Adam Scott(2013), and Mike Weir(2003) make up 14 of the last 19 Green Jackets, all with right to left ball flights. I don't have this weighted into any model but when it comes down to a Golfer A vs. Golfer B decision, I will most definitely be looking at this closer. The biggest challenge at Augusta is the bentgrass greens which are very fast and undulated with shaved edges creating a ton of runoffs. Even with around 68% of the field hitting the fairway on...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – Houston Open

If you listen close enough you can hear Jim Nantz warming up his voice and that means we are only one week away from the Masters. Before we get too excited, however, we have one more warmup event that takes the tour to Texas for the Houston Open. The event has been played going all the way back to 1970 and has been played at a number of different courses including Champions GC, Westwood CC, Quail Valley GC, TPC Woodlands, and most recently the Golf Club of Houston. This year, the event moves again and will be hosted at Memorial Park Golf Course which has not been used on Tour since back in the 60's. It was completely overhauled in 2019 by Tom Doak with the consultation help of Brooks Koepka. It will play as a Par 70 this week for the pros. The fairways are smaller than average and while there are only 19 bunkers(post-renovation), trees, undulation, and water in play on four holes will force golfers to really think their way around the course not just bomb and gouge. For fantasy, this opens up the player pool a bit but when targeting shorter hitters, and this can be said for any course, you need to look closely at their iron game specifically from 175-200 and 200+ yards. Even if the longer hitters are playing somewhat conservative and "safe" off the tee, the long irons will be important and there are also three Par 4's of 490 or more yards and three par 3's of 200+ yards. Overall, I am once again looking for players in form not just with their finishes...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – Bermuda Championship

The field is nothing to write home about as there are is only one player ranked Top 50 in the world teeing it up this week and that is defending champion, Brendon Todd. Because of this, building DFS lineups this week is going to be much different as player pricing is greatly inflated. The course is a Par 71 setup that is listed at 6,828 yards on the scorecard. It has smaller than average fairways and even with fairly non-penal rough(2" on average), positioning is going to be huge putting a ton of emphasis on hitting fairways. We are going to see a lot of players using a "less than driver" strategy off the tee and that was my analysis before seeing the weather forecast which everything hinges on this week. As of now, Thursday looks like the best day with 8-10 mph winds projected for most of the day with it picking up overnight. Friday through Sunday are currently showing steady winds of 20-25 mph and gusts reaching 30+ mph. This means I will be looking into players who have succeeded or at least not tanked in heavy wind conditions. Last year, we saw very windy conditions on Thursday and it calmed down for the remaining of the event so I feel this year won't get to that -20 mark. With all that said, let's look at the scorecard breakdown, top stats in the model, and some core plays in each price range. The Course Port Royal Golf Course Par 71 - 6,828 Yards Greens...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – Zozo Championship

For the second straight week, we have a re-scheduled event due to COVID-19 as the Zozo Championship moves from Japan to the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California. Like the CJ Cup, this will also be another no-cut event with a loaded field with eight of the Top 10 and 37 of the Top 50 players in the World teeing it up this week. This includes defending Zozo Champ Tiger Woods who makes his first start since a missed cut at the U.S. Open. Don't let that hold you back from the GOAT, however, as he returns to the venue of his Hero World Challenge event hosted from 2000-2013 in which Tiger won five times and finished runner-up five other times. The course is Sherwood Country Club and while it appears to be a very short(7,073 Yards) Par 72, the Jack Nicklaus design challenges golfers to be "on" in every facet of their game if they are wanting to win here. It is also a little quirky as there are five Par 3's and five Par 5's and while you would think the scoring would be low, Tiger had an average score of just 68.5 here over 12 events. That is mostly due to the dangers around every corner with water coming to play on eight holes, well-positioned bunkering, doglegs that force positioning off the tee, and fast, challenging Bentgrass greens. Even the Par 5's present a big challenge if going for it in two as the greens are very protected. Overall, this is a risk-reward-type course which will have a lot of golfers playing more conservative off the tee as accuracy...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – The CJ Cup

You may recognize the name as this event has been played in each of the last three seasons but in JeJu Island, South Korea. With travel restrictions due to COVID-19, the event had to be moved and was an easy transition with the Tour in Las Vegas last week, as well. One thing that is the same this time around is the loaded field as seven of the Top 10 and 39 of the Top 50 players in the Official World Golf Rankings will be teeing it up in Vegas. When it comes to the course and figuring out what stats are key, it is a bit of a guessing game this week as Shadow Creek has only been used once before for an event and it was the Tiger vs. Phil match. Looking at things strictly from pictures on PGA Tour site as well as the flyover with ProVisualizer, the course has narrow tree-lined fairways and presents a ton of risk-reward shots with bunkering(74 total) and water hazards(in play on 9 holes) mostly in the form of long creeks. It does not appear to be a course the bombers can just let it rip without worry and should lead to more strategy and ball placement off the tee to have a shot at hitting the smaller-than-average Bentgrass green complexes. In my opinion, this brings more players into play which adds to the stars and scrubs strategy I was already considering at this no-cut event. Most of all, with...
