The PGA Tour fall season continues this week with a trip to the Country Club of Jackson for the Sanderson Farms Championship. This event has been played here at this venue since the 2014-15 season when Nick Taylor hoisted the hardware with a winning score of -16. While the field is stronger than last week's event, we still only get four players(Im, Scheffler, Reavie, Stenson) ranked inside the Top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings. This once again presents a challenge as we will be rostering golfers whose price tags are much higher than we normally see. My advice for handling this type of situation would be to remove the name and concentrate on the data to make a decision rather than using biases that we develop throughout the season. Speaking of the data, this week I am looking at a combination of stats, course history, and of course form. For the stats, the course is fairly straight forward and while the average fairways hit sits just above 55%, the rough is not penal so we can look for the big hitters to let it rip(see Cam Champ in 2018). The biggest thing I am looking at this week is a combination of Strokes Gained: Approach and Birdie or Better %. Breaking that down a bit further, I am looking at Proximity as the greens are fairly easy to hit here(avg 70% GIR last 5 years) and for birdie potential, I like looking at Opportunities gained from Fantasy National Golf Club. With all that said, let's get into some core plays in each price range. The Course TPC Southwind Par 70...
Daily Fantasy Football Cash Game Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 4
Daily Fantasy Football Cash Game Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 4 Week 3 was a roller coaster, with far fewer injuries than week 2, but plenty of surprises nonetheless. What can we learn from week 3 while not overreacting? Let's go position by position and pin down the best cash game plays right now, understanding that things might change as the week progresses. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterbacks Russell Wilson FD 9000 DK 7800 Opponent MIAProj Points FD - 26.25 DK - 26.8 I mean what else can you say about the guy at this point? He’s been simply spectacular to start this season, exceeding expectations which is pretty amazing considering he came into the year ranked no worse than third in any active quarterback list. He’s already thrown 14 touchdowns to only one interception and has completed 77% of his passes. He’s *only* fourth in passing yards but that’s also because the offense has been so hyper-efficient that they don’t need to throw a ton of volume. Among the top-ten quarterbacks in passing yards, Wilson has the second-fewest attempts (103). This week he’ll get his easiest matchup yet as a 6.5 road favorite over the Dolphins. Miami held Gardner Minshew in check in Week 3, but gave it up to Josh Allen (QB3) and Cam Newton (QB7) in previous weeks. This is a smash spot for Wilson once again and could be even more so if Chris Carson is out and they rely on the pass even more. Kyler Murray FD 8400 DK 7000 Opponent CARProj Points FD - 24.29 DK - 25.08 Murray was a chalk play in week 2 on both FanDuel and DraftKings, but disappointed in a surprising loss at home to the Lions. He completed only 23 of his 35 passing attempts and threw three interceptions. He did end up with two passing touchdowns, but the Lions also held him to his fewest rushing yards (29) of the season. Look for a bounce-back game against the Panthers who haven’t had to face all that much pressure from opposing quarterbacks to start the season. They’ve played Derek Carr, Tom Brady, and Justin Herbert in the first three weeks. Murray will offer a different kind of challenge. They are a bottom-third defense and Murray still has a very high floor considering how he scores his points. I’m fine going back to him in cash games this week. Joe...
Daily Fantasy Football Cash Game Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 3
Daily Fantasy Football Cash Game Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 3 Week 2 was a sad one, with a veritable All-Pro team worth of players going down. While it's sad to see as a football fan, it does open up a ton of opportunity in DFS, so let's get down to our NFL cash game picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for week 3. Also check out our Week 3 injury breakdown as well as our Week 3 betting strategy. Want access to the projections that power these picks? Quarterbacks Kyler Murray FD 8400 DK 6800 Opponent DET Proj Points FD - 24 DK - 24.79 It’s an embarrassment of riches at quarterback this week with a ton of upper-tier QBs in great spots. And we aren’t going to worry too much about having to pay a premium on the position. There’s just so much value at running back that we’ll be able to spend up at quarterback and wide receiver specifically. Let’s start with Murray who we recommended in cash games for last week. He was as good as promised with 286 yards and a touchdown through the air and another 67 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Through two weeks he leads all quarterbacks in rushing yards and is actually ninth overall in the NFL on the ground. He’s improved his accuracy, completing 67% of his passes and one has to assume the passing touchdowns tick up as the season goes on. The Lions have been one of the worst defenses in the league through two weeks and Murray is in another smash spot. Cam Newton FD 7700 DK 6700 Opponent LV Proj Points FD - 23.23 DK - 24.02 Through two weeks, Cam Newton is sixth overall in DraftKings scoring with 32.14 points per game. It’s been a complete effort on his part, essentially contributing to every part of the Patriots’ offense. He is second overall in quarterback rushing yards (behind Murray) with 122 yards on the ground and his four rushing touchdowns lead the league. He’s also been ultra-efficient through the air with a 71% completion percentage and ranks sixth in yards per attempt. The Giants’ defense hasn’t been terrible to start the season, but they are going to have trouble keeping the ball out of opponents’ hands with Saquon Barkley now lost for the year. The Pats have the third-highest implied point total on the slate (behind Arizona and Dallas) and...
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday 9/20/20
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 9/20/20 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! This is going to be the only normal Sunday slate left. In fact, we have just one Sunday remaining in the year but it is the dreaded final day of the regular season. Things should remain relatively normal for this one though and that's all we can ask for as DFS players. With that in mind, let's get to our favorite pitchers of the slate. Pitchers Carlos Carrasco FD - P 9900 DK - SP 10400 Opponent - DET (Matthew Boyd) Park - DET FD - 40.72 DK - 22.4 A 2-4 record doesn't necessarily look very good but a 3.27 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 10.3 K/9 rate is pretty much what we expect from Cookie Carrasco. He's actually been even better over recent years, amassing a 3.43 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 30 percent K rate since 2015. The best part about using him today is this matchup though, facing a Detroit team who owns the worst K rate in the Majors while sitting 25th in OBP and 23rd in runs scored. That's why he and the Indians enter this matchup as a -200 favorite, with the Tigers projected for less than four runs. Jose Urquidy FD - P 6500 DK - SP 7300 Opponent - ARI (Madison Bumgarner) Park - HOU FD - 23.71 DK - 12.36 This is honestly some of the worst pricing I've seen all season. I expected to see Uequidy in the $8,000s on both sites but he remains way too cheap. I say that because he has a 2.70 ERA and 0.90 WHIP in three starts this season. That stellar form carries over from last year too, with Urquidy allowing one run or fewer in six of his final seven starts last season. All of that doesn't even take into consideration this superb matchup, facing a Diamondbacks club that ranks 28th in both runs scored and OBP while sitting 29th in wOBA. It has Urquidy and the Astros entering this matchup as a -210 favorite. We also think Max Scherzer could roll over Miami in Marlins Park, and he's an obvious big money option as usual. Catcher/First Base Freddie Freeman FD - 1B 4100 DK - 1B 5600 Opponent - NYM (Rick Porcello) Park - NYM FD - 13.03 DK - 9.79 Freeman is the hottest player in baseball and he's going to remain in these articles until he cools off. Over the last 14 games, FF has...
Daily Fantasy Football Cash Game Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 2
Daily Fantasy Football Cash Game Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings Week 2 Week 1 is in the books, with offenses looking a lot crisper than defenses after a weird preseason. Will week 2 look similarly? Let's take a look at our position by position picks to find out. Want access to the projections that power these picks? For a limited time we're offering a free one week trial to all the sports that we cover - that's optimal lineups for NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB - for the same low price. Get started now! START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterbacks Kyler Murray FD 8000 DK 6100 Opponent WASProj Points FD - 21.97 DK - 22.72 The Cardinals pulled off one of the upsets of Week 1 with a win over the defending NFC champs, the San Francisco 49ers. And Murray was every bit as good as what the Cardinals expected when they drafted him number one overall. He completed 26-40 passes for 230 yards while tacking on another 91 yards on the ground on 13 attempts. That led all quarterbacks on the ground on Sunday and is coming off a season in which he was second overall in QB rushing yards. This is part of his game and it gives him such a high floor any given week. The Washington front seven is good and they’re coming off a surprise win of their own over the Eagles, but the Cards have the fourth-highest implied total on the main slate at 26.75. And, somehow, Murray is the 11th-most expensive quarterback on DraftKings. That’s simply too low. It’s closer on FanDuel where he’s 4th most expensive at $8K. But in terms of projection and overall tools, he’s just a fantastic cash game play for Week 2. Dak Prescott FD 8300 DK 6800 Opponent ATLProj Points FD - 21.68 DK - 22.4Yup, I know it was a rough scene in Week 1 for Dak and the Cowboys with a loss to the Rams. Dak was mediocre if unimpressive considering the hype coming in around him and Dallas this season. But one week should not a complete overreaction make and I love where we are getting him going into Week 2. Atlanta is coming off an opening game in which Russell Wilson carved them up for an 89% completion percentage, 322 yards, four touchdowns while tacking on 29 rushing yards. It looked incredibly easy for Wilson against a team that ranked in the bottom third of passing defenses last season. Dak still has fantastic weapons in the WR corps and there’s reason to expect the Cowboys try to light it up early in their first home game after a down week. Matthew Stafford...

This year's event may feel a bit different with the TOUR Championship and 2019-20 season wrapping up two weeks ago but one thing remains the same. This championship will be the toughest test these golfers will face all year. The venue rotates each year and we are in for a treat in 2020 as the U.S. Open shifts back to Winged Foot Golf Club for the sixth time and the first since 2006 where Phil Mickelson gifted the trophy to Geoff Ogilvy after double-bogeying the 72nd hole. Winged Foot is an absolute beast and best put in two famous quotes: "The golf course gets tough on the first tee and never gets any easier” Jack Nicklaus “We’re not trying to humiliate the best players in the world. We’re simply trying to identify them” said USGA president Sandy Tatum back in 1974 I don't quite remember the course in detail from 2006(cut me some slack, that was 14 years ago and I forget what I ate for breakfast yesterday) but reading player quotes, watching the flyover video, and seeing reports on social media tells me this will be a bloodbath. The fairways are narrow, the rough looks impossible to play out of, and even the "safe" landing zones off the tee are protected by tons fo bunkering and/or large trees that will block the second shot if not placed in the correct spot. Then you have the greens in which Jack Nicklaus once said are "the most difficult set of greens I've ever seen". They...
