Quarterbacks Deshaun Watson FD 8200 DK 7000 Opponent TEN Proj Points FD - 22.48 DK - 23.25 In his first game, post-Bill O’Brien, Watson had his best game of the season against the Jaguars. He threw for 359 yards and three touchdowns while also getting out for 25 rushing yards. Sure, Jacksonville is the league’s worst defense, but it was good to see Watson return to some of the big-number form we’d seen from him in years past. After a brutal scheduling run to start the season, we may be getting the old Watson back now. Unfortunately, the matchup against the Titans isn’t exactly ideal coming off a week in which they shut down Josh Allen. But Watson still is about as dynamic a quarterback as you’ll find on this slate and the price hasn’t gotten all the way back after some early-season struggles. Ryan Fitzpatrick FD 7400 DK 5900 Opponent NYJ Proj Points FD - 20.59 DK - 21.63 Between byes, scheduling and injuries, the top five DraftKings-scoring quarterbacks aren’t on this slate so we are going to have to a dig a bit deeper this week to find some value at the position. Fitzpatrick has had a solid if unspectacular start to the season though some of that is a volume issue. Miami has two games already in which they were in complete control (SF in Week 5, JAX in Week 3) and Fitzpatrick didn’t top 30 passing attempts in either. But he’s also had two games (SEA in Week 4, NE in Week 1) in which he failed to record a passing touchdown and threw five combined interceptions. So it’s been an up-and-down season. This week he gets the Jets who rank 31st against the pass which is even more damning when you see they had three weeks of Brett Rypien, Jimmy G and the no-pass Colts. Fitzpatrick keeps the floor higher with gains on the ground, ranking fourth among quarterbacks in rushing yards this season and he’s a total bargain on DraftKings. Matthew Stafford FD 7300 DK 6300 Opponent JAX Proj Points FD - 21.12 DK - 21.91 Stafford gets the aforementioned Jaguars this week who rank dead last against the pass in part because they allow a league-worst 8.7 passing yards per attempt. That’s a half yard more than the next...

Injury analysis for week 5 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings Welcome to our weekly injury analysis article! Quarterback Lamar Jackson FD 8900 DK 7900 Opponent CIN Proj Points FD - 22.07 DK - 22.57 Lamar Jackson has missed back to back practices for the first time in his career, and while he should be ready for Sunday's game against the Bengals, this might be enough for me to just stay away. It's hard to imagine that the Ravens are going to take any risks with their franchise quarterback, especially when he's nursing a knee injury, and this could limit Lamar in the running game in particular. I'm staying away from the Ravens' offense as a result. Jimmy Garoppolo FD 6700 DK 5500 Opponent MIA Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Garoppolo has been trending in the right direction, practicing in a limited fashion throughout the week, but without any brace or other ankle support. To be clear, he is not a play this week regardless, but his presence might been better things for the San Francisco passing game. I have to say, though, that I don't know if it would improve our projections for George Kittle, who popped off last week in Garoppolo's absence. Update: Garoppolo will be playing this weekend. Sam Darnold FD 6600 DK 5500 Opponent ARI Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Darnold has been ruled out this week, leaving Joe Flacco to steer the offense against the Cardinals. This is almost meaningless for DFS purposes, but deeper sleepers like Jamison Crowder become unplayable with Flacco under center. Drew Lock FD 6500 DK 5300 Opponent NE Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 It's a big week for quarterback news, with Drew Lock also potentially returning to action this week against New England. Right now it looks like Brett Rypien will be under center for the Broncos, which would take any Broncos off the table in any format, for me. If Lock were to return I'm not even sure that I'd be interested in this beat up Denver offense in a tough match-up with the Patriots. Dwayne Haskins Jr. FD 6600 DK 5100 Opponent LAR Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 While he's not injured, Haskins has lost the Football Team (really?) starting job going into this game against the...

The PGA Tour fall season continues this week with a trip to Las Vegas and TPC Southwind for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. It will also be the first of two Las Vegas events as the CJ Cup was moved to Shadow Creek Golf Course for this season. Outside of the U.S. Open, this is arguably the best field we have seen since the new season began as there are three golfers inside the Top 10(Morikawa, Bryson, Webb) and 22 of the Top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings. As we have seen in the past, this event produces some very low scores when the weather cooperates and that appears to be the case again this year. For my DFS model, I will be heavy on form, specifically in the iron game combined with birdies. Before getting into picks, let's look at the scorecard, past results, and my stats model. The Course TPC Southwind Par 71 - 7,255 Yards Greens - Bentgrass **Click the image above to see a hole by hole breakdown from PGATour.com** Previous Five Winners 2019 - Kevin Na(-23) 2018 - Bryson DeChambeau(-21) 2017 - Patrick Cantlay(-9) 2016 - Rod Pampling(-20) 2015 - Smylie Kaufman(-16) Top Stats in the Model Strokes Gained: Approach  Birdie or Better % Par 4 Scoring Par 5 Birdie or Better % Putting Performance on Bentgrass Greens With the wind projected to be fairly calm again this year, this will most definitely be a second-shot golf course so Strokes Gained: Approach is at the top of my list of stats this week. Right behind it and highly correlated is Birdie or...

For a limited time we're offering a free one week trial to all the sports that we cover - that's optimal lineups for NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB - for the same low price. Get started now! START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterbacks Dak Prescott FD 8700 DK 7400 Opponent NYG Proj Points FD - 25.86 DK - 26.71 The Cowboys' season is getting a little out of hand at this point. They are 1-3 to start the year despite scoring the second-most points in the league through four weeks. They’ve had to get into shootouts with the defense allowing, by far, the most points in the league at 146. Some of that is poor play, some is ill-timed turnovers. But overall it’s been a mess for Dallas. I was on record before Week 4 that Dak’s passing attempts per game were unsustainable. Whoops. He chucked up 58 on Sunday for 502 yards, four touchdowns and a loss. They come in Sunday as -9 favorites against the Giants in what should be another smash spot for the offense. Again, it doesn't seem like this kind of volume can continue, but it's also getting tougher to bet against it with each passing week. Dak needs to be at, or near, the top of the list simply because the volume is just out of this world. Deshaun Watson FD 7900 DK 6900 Opponent JAX Proj Points FD - 23.14 DK - 23.92 On the one hand, Watson has been pretty bad to start the season, losing his first four games with a 2:1 TD:INT rate. He's also barely getting involved at all on the ground with only 17 total rushing yards. And now the Texans have fired Bill O’Brien. So it’s been kind of a dumpster fire. But they did have a very tough schedule through the first quarter of the season and now get their easiest matchup yet. The Jaguars are the 29th-ranked defense, but at dead last against the pass according to DVOA. They are allowing 8.4 yards per pass attempt (third-worst) and a 77% opponent completion percentage which is the highest in the league. If Watson is going to turn it around, this is the game. He’s priced a bit lower because of the early season returns and this could be the time to buy low. Teddy Bridgewater FD 7100 DK 5900 Opponent ATL Proj Points FD - 18.43 DK - 19.09 Bridgewater continues to look more comfortable under center in his first year with the Panthers, guiding the team to wins in back-to-back weeks. In fact,...

Injury analysis for week 4 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings

Injury analysis for week 4 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings Welcome to our weekly injury analysis article! There are a ton of relevant injuries this week, so let's cut right to the chase. You can also check out our Week 4 cash game plays. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NFL and MLB optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Running Back Chris Carson FD 7900 DK 6300 Opponent MIA Proj Points FD - 8.3 DK - 9.75 Carson was limited in practice again on Thursday with a first degree knee sprain - an injury that usually requires a 1-2 week timetable for recovery. If he were to sit, it would open up a lot of opportunity for a team that's never been shy about running the ball. The problem is that the presumed heir to the RB1 carries, Carlos Hyde, has also been limited in practice this week. If both Hyde and Carson were to sit you'd be look at a very chalky Travis Homer as a likely three down back in Seattle. He'd be a cash game lock in a fantastic match-up with Miami. Leonard Fournette FD 5500 DK 5600 Opponent LAC Proj Points FD - 2.99 DK - 3.73 Our system is now very bearish on Fournette's chances of playing on Sunday after Bruce Arians called it a "stretch" to think about him playing. If he winds up being out, it becomes a huge boon to Ronald Jones Jr.'s fantasy stock. The Bucs are already likely to be without Chris Godwin and Scotty Miller this week, and they are running low on ways to reliably approach short yardage situation. Jones had 17 opportunities (carries plus targets) last week, and given that the Bucs are 7.5 point favorites against the Chargers you'd figure that he'll be heavily involved here. I'd be comfortable with him in cash games if Fournette were ruled out. Kareem Hunt FD 5900 DK 6200 Opponent DAL Proj Points FD - 12.04 DK - 13.53 This is a sneakier one to keep an eye on. Hunt has missed two straight practices with a groin injury, and his absence could turn Nick Chubb into a three down back. I'm not sure this is where you want to spend up for cash game purposes even if Hunt is out of the picture, but taking carries away from a very talented back-up can only help Chubb's big tournament prospects. Sony Michel FD 5600 DK 4600 Opponent KC Proj Points FD - 9.23 DK - 10.34 Michel is cruising toward a questionable tag for Sunday's...

Week 4 is here, and Doug and James are back to break down their cash game plays on DraftKings and FanDuel. While there is less obvious value heading into this week, things are taking a pretty clear direction early on. The guys agree that you're likely going to want to pay up at quarterback this week, picking between names Kyler Murray, Dak Prescott, and Russell Wilson. Running back is going to look a lot different this week as well with fewer obvious cheap value options this week. DFSR is looking to lean on high usage guys like Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Derrick Henry, while trying to find some cheap targets from Mike Davis. Since we're spending up heavily at running back and quarterback we'll likely middle out wide receiver with high target value options like Tyler Lockett, Amari Cooper, and even a resurgent Keenan Allen. Tight end looks disastrous as always, but the guys make the case for Jimmy Graham after Nick Foles took over at QB and his production exploded. Love the DFSR podcast?
