Quarterbacks Russell Wilson FD 8700 DK 7800 Opponent SFProj Points FD - 23.83 DK - 24.31 From a fantasy perspective, Russell Wilson has a couple of things going for him right now. First and foremost, he’s incredible. That’s the most important thing. But not too far behind is that because Seattle’s defense is an absolute sieve, he’ll always have a chance to keep his foot on the gas in the offense. Wilson is the number one per game DraftKings’ scoring player on the season so far, leading Kyler Murray by about 2.5 per. He’s also been remarkably consistent with the lowest coefficient of variation of anyone in the top group. The issue this week is the matchup against the Rams isn’t exactly ideal considering they allow the third-fewest opponent plays per game and have a top-10 defense. But the position is a bit problematic for a variety of reasons this week and you get so much safety with Russ. Ryan Tannehill FD 7500 DK 6800 Opponent CINProj Points FD - 21.13 DK - 21.93 It’s funny to say, but through six games this season, Tannehill is a Top-7 DraftKings per-game quarterback, even edging out Aaron Rodgers who is $800 more expensive ($700 on DraftKings). And this week Tannehill is handed one of the better matchups on the main slate against the lowly Bengals. Cincinnati made Baker Mayfield look like an absolute superstar in Week 7. They are a bottom-third defense and worse against the pass on the season. Tannehill has completed 69% of his passes this season with a 15:2 TD: INT rate. Plus, with AJ Brown back and fully healthy Corey Davis, Tannehill has a full complement of weapons. If you don’t want to spend all the way up for Russ, this is the first level pivot down. Derek Carr FD 7300 DK 5500 Opponent CLEProj Points FD - 18.58 DK - 19.21 Don’t look now, but Derek Carr is putting together a nice season. He’s completing 72% of his passes, good for third overall in the league with a respectable 13:2 TD: INT rate. He’s starting to take more shots downfield but is also a good intermediate passer that allows him to stay away from big mistakes. And yet he’s priced as QB19 (out of 22) on DraftKings this week. That is just a...

With a number of pieces of potential injury news still outstanding, this podcast contains a lot of "if this, then that" scenarios. The trickle-down effects of certain injuries are just enormous. To cherry-pick one example: if Michael Thomas sits, Alvin Kamara likely becomes the best running back play, but there also become solid cheap WR options in Tre'Quan Smith and Marquez Callaway. Having this kind of savings means more expensive plays at other positions become more relevant. If Emmanuel Sanders returns from the Covid IR, however, these plays become less relevant. And this is just an example of one team! There's a similar situation in Seattle, where both Carson and Hyde have questionable tags early in the week. This week is so nuanced that you're just going to have to hear the discussion in order to really wrap your mind around it. Be sure to keep an eye out for DFSR's injury article later in the week, since this week more than any other so far this season really requires you to have your finger on the pulse of multiple injury situations. There are other exciting possibilities to dream about this week as well. Could Tua explode onto the DFS scene? Should we be excited to run it back with Gio Bernard or Jamaal Williams, or has their price come up too much? The DFSR team discusses all this, and more. Love the DFSR podcast? There are a number of unknown factors that make it impossible to fully project what cash game lineups will look like for week 8, but there is still quite a bit to talk about here. Quarterback looks like it's going to come down to a decision between Russell Wilson and some cheap options in Ryan Tannehill and Derek Carr. If we wind up getting cheap options at other plays (like running back) we will wind up paying up. If we don't, we might need to go cheaper this week. Running back could go in any number of directions this week. Can we afford Derrick Henry? Perhaps, if we can get punt plays like Carlos Hyde going this week. There are several known question marks this week, with the status of Joe Mixon, Dalvin Cook, Aaron Jones, Chris Carson, and even Carlos Hyde up in the air. This is a position we'll need to revisit later in the week. Wide receiver has its own interesting discussions. What do we make of Tyler Lockett's 20 target week? How about Davante Adams' return to greatness? Can we roll it back with Marquez Callaway if Michael Thomas misses another game? Is Keenan Allen an easy play in spite of his ongoing touchdown issues? The guys break all this down, and more. Tight end is a mess, as usual, and we're hoping to be able to pay up for George Kittle. That will likely depend on getting cheap plays elsewhere, though, so for now we're standing by. Love the DFSR podcast? Go ahead and subscribe and listen wherever you get your daily podcasts. Injury analysis for week 7 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings
Injury analysis for week 7 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings Welcome to our weekly injury analysis article! It's an odd week with injuries, with a number of interesting quarterback situations leading things off. Let's have a look. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NFL and MLB optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterback Sam Darnold FD 6700 DK 5000 Opponent BUF Proj Points FD - 15.66 DK - 16.72 Sam Darnold appears to be poised to return to action after missing two weeks with a shoulder injury. He's not likely to be in any of my lineups in a tough match-up with the Bills, but his return has to mean good things for Jamison Crowder. We were recommending Crowder as a cash game play on FanDuel and DraftKings when we thought Flacco was going to be under center, and we like the play even more if Darnold returns. Right now Gase says Darnold will be out there barring any setbacks, so let's hope we've seen the last of playing pass-catchers that are reliant on Joe Flacco. Running Back Aaron Jones FD 8500 DK 7200 Opponent HOU Proj Points FD - 19.21 DK - 21.33 Jones was a late addition to the injury report after straining his calf on Thursday, and is officially listed as questionable after missing practice on Friday. If he were to sit, Jamaal Williams would be a fantastic cash game play at a great price in a great match-up with the Texans. Joe Mixon FD 7400 DK 6300 Opponent CLE Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Mixon has been ruled out for this weekend's game against the Browns, leaving us the chance to play Gio Bernard at sub $5k on FanDuel. He's a must play for me in any format, and should be the highest owned running back on FanDuel barring some strange news surfacing. Kareem Hunt FD 7100 DK 6800 Opponent CIN Proj Points FD - 17.58 DK - 19.22 Hunt has been limited in practice this week, but it appears to be nothing to be concerned about at this point. He is in cash game consideration for us in a nice match-up with the Bengals. Raheem Mostert FD 6500 DK 6500 Opponent NE Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Moster was ruled out for this Sunday's game against the Patriots, and while we were intrigued by Jerick McKinnon earlier this season in a similar situation, we're sort of off it this week. Last week McKinnon out-snapped Jamychal Hasty 32%-21%, leading us to believe that we're looking...

START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterbacks Deshaun Watson FD 8000 DK 6800 Opponent GBProj Points FD - 22.44 DK - 23.22 Bill O’Brien was fired after Week 4 and that move has had a nearly 1:1 effect on unlocking Watson’s fantasy potential similar to what we saw last season. In the last two games, since the firing, Watson has thrown for 359 and 335 yards respectively while also putting up a combined 51 yards on the ground. He also has seven passing touchdowns in that stretch and is the second-best fantasy quarterback over the last two weeks behind only Ryan Tannehill. The price hasn’t come up enough for the production and this week he faces a sneaky-bad defensive team in the Packers. They rank 30th in DVOA and 25th against the pass. We ran out Watson in cash last week at low ownership to great results. Here’s to running it back this week. Justin Herbert FD 7500 DK 6400 Opponent JAXProj Points FD - 20.27 DK - 21.26 The Jaguars have been the league’s worst defense against the pass this season and little changed after last week. Matthew Stafford didn’t put up huge numbers mostly because he didn’t need to. The game was in hand by halftime with the Lions up by two scores and things rolled downhill afterward. This week we get to take the rookie Herbert against this atrocious defense and it won’t cost all that much for the pleasure. Though he’s 0-4 as a starter, Herbert has still been efficient through the air with a 69% completion percentage and 9:3 TD:INT rate. He’s averaging nearly 300 passing yards per game and has even gotten out and run with four rushing attempts and 14 rushing yards per game. The price is excellent on both sites and even with only four games under his belt, this is still a cash game spot for the rookie. Joe Burrow FD 7100 DK 5500 Opponent CLEProj Points FD - 19.48 DK - 20.49 Kyle Allen FD 6700 DK 5200 Opponent DALProj Points FD - 15.01 DK - 15.79 On DraftKings, where the pricing is tighter, it can often make a lot of sense to really spend down on more speculative quarterbacks in advantageous matchups. That’s the case with these two this week. Burrow comes in as a DraftKings play where he’s QB18 in...

Games at risk Welcome to a new segment of the article called "games at risk," where we discuss games that might not play due to Covid-19. The joys of 2020. Earlier this week, Adam Schefter reported that the Falcons had received at least four positive tests, and that their game was in jeopardy. As the story unfolded, it turned out to be just one staff member, and on Friday the Falcons returned to practice. As of now, the Vikings vs. Falcons game looks like a go. The Colts shut down their practice facility on Friday after some unknown number of positive tests. It is not yet known how this will impact Sunday's game, but as of right now the Colts vs. Bengals game is currently at risk of not being played. We'll keep you updated as any of these situations develop. Quarterback Drew Lock FD 6700 DK 5400 Opponent NE Proj Points FD - 13.61 DK - 14.31 Cam Newton FD 8000 DK 6500 Opponent DEN Proj Points FD - 18.74 DK - 19.41 Both Cam Newton and Drew Lock are on track to return for Sunday's game against one another. Newton had an asymptomatic Covid-19 case and should be treated as exactly the same guy he was before he was sidelined, and while the Patriots aren't the most exciting DFS team, he's an interesting play in his own right. Lock is not a playable DFS option, and his return really doesn't impact our projections of the Broncos in any meaningful way. Often times getting a QB back makes a team more interesting, but we need to see more production from Lock before we make that declaration. Baker Mayfield FD 7000 DK 5700 Opponent PIT Proj Points FD - 14.45 DK - 15.47 Mayfield has been trending in the right direction throughout the week, and while he's not a play in and of himself against this brutal Steelers defense, it would bring guys like Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry into "interesting big tournament play" status. If Case Keenum starts for Mayfield I can't imagine playing either of those guys in any format. Running Back Dalvin Cook FD 9500 DK 8000 Opponent ATL Proj Points FD - 2.01 DK - 2.42 Cook has missed...
