START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW!   There are a lot of interesting questions for cash games this week, starting at quarterback. Can we start Jalen Hurts after two good weeks, or should we be concerned about the low completion percentage? Would Deshaun Watson just be a safer play at similar prices? Is it insane to go super-cheap at QB on DK and play Trubisky? The guys weigh the pros and cons of each. Running back features two easy plays in David Montgomery and Le'Veon Bell, but after that, there are a number of situations to keep an eye on. You've got the potential absence of Ezekiel Elliott, a bizarre QB situation in WAS (which impacts JD McKissic), and more. You'll want to tune in tomorrow for an in-depth look at the position on a game by game basis. Wide receiver has good plays at every price point, as usual, with headliners like Calvin Ridley and Tyreek Hill, mid-range options like Brandin Cooks and Jarvis Landry, and even some punt plays lurking in LA if Keenan Allen sits. Tight end requires us to think about whether Travis Kelce has become too expensive, or if we can tolerate a mid-range option like Logan Thomas, Hunter Henry, or Noah Fant. All in all it's another interesting week. Enjoy! Love the DFSR podcast? Go ahead and subscribe and listen wherever you get your daily podcasts. For a limited time we're offering a free one week trial to all the sports that we cover - that's optimal lineups for NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB - for the same low price. Get started now! START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterbacks Jalen Hurts FD 8200 DK 7000 Opponent DALProj Points FD - 23.35 DK - 24.19 From a fantasy perspective, Jalen Hurts has had about as good a two-game stretch as any quarterback in their first two games under center. In the first one he got out into the open field against the Saints and put up 106 yards on the ground. Then, in Week 15 against the Cardinals, he really turned things on with an absolute slate-breaker. He threw for 338 yards and three touchdowns while also adding 63 yards and touchdown on the ground. His 40.8 DraftKings points were the 7th-best quarterback game on the season. Now he’ll face a Dallas defense ranked 25th in DVOA this season. Hurts’s price has come up considerably, but it’s only in line with the awesome performance. He’s still a high floor play in this tier. Deshaun Watson FD 8500 DK 7600 Opponent CINProj Points FD - 24 DK - 24.75 Since Week 11, Deshaun Watson is your QB2 in terms of average DraftKings scoring and he’s really only a few decimal points behind Josh Allen. The dude has just been elite, throwing for more than 300 yards in four of his last five games while averaging more than 30 yards on the ground. He’ll get a choice matchup against the Bengals who rank 29th in DVOA on defense this season and are much worse against the run than the pass. Don’t let the win over the Steelers fool you either, this is still very much a bad team. It’s close between Watson and Hurts for me in this upper tier. Watson does feel a bit safer because of the historical track record, but you do have to pay just a bit more. Mitchell Trubisky FD 7200 DK 5700 Opponent JAXProj Points FD - 18.91 DK - 19.72 If you’re looking for a cost-saving measure on DraftKings old Mitch might be the way to go. Since taking back over for Nick Foles four weeks ago Trubisky has been fantasy serviceable. He’s been around middle of the pack on a DraftKings points per game basis, putting up 18.9/game in that stretch. The good news is the efficiency has really been there, especially over the last three weeks completing 74% of his passes with a 5:1 TD:Int rate. And this...

Injury analysis for week 15 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings

Quarterback Drew Brees FD 7500 DK 5900 Opponent KC Proj Points FD - 20.06 DK - 20.69 The Saints announced that Brees would be back under center for Sunday's tilt with the Chiefs, and there are a number of DFS implications. Both the receivers and Alvin Kamara rate to be much better with Brees than they were with Hill. Kamara in particular should return from target purgatory to his lofty levels of the early season, which should make him something like a must-play in cash games this week. In a back and forth affair, it's not unreasonable to run multiple Saints in cash games this week. We'll get to which receivers when we discuss Michael Thomas. Matthew Stafford FD 7300 DK 5800 Opponent TEN Proj Points FD - 0.5 DK - 0.52 Stafford could theoretically play against Tennessee this week, but it's not looking great. He missed practice all week before finally practicing in a limited fashion on Friday. Either way, his extremely questionable status and potential absence make the already tenuous Detroit passing game a stay-away for me. If Stafford does suit up I could consider either Jones Jr. or Hockenson, but likely only for big tournaments. Alex Smith FD 6500 DK 5000 Opponent SEA Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Alex Smith has been ruled out for this weekend's game, leaving the quarterbacking duties on Dwayne Haskins. While Smith wasn't an especially relevant DFS option, his absence this week certainly has ramifications for DFS. JD McKissic far riskier, for instance, since he was a favorite check down option of Smith. Terry McLaurin probably gets a bump since Haskins is more suited to hit McLaurin on the routes he really wants to run. Running Back Chris Carson FD 7600 DK 6800 Opponent WAS Proj Points FD - 13.83 DK - 14.94 Carson heads into this week without an injury designation, and he is sizing up to be a pretty interesting running back option this week. While his workload has been aggressively managed over the last four weeks, it looked like he was going to break out for greater usage last week before the game got out of hand. Carson was on the field for 71% of snaps in the first half, but with the game out of hand, got a lot of rest in the second half. This should be...

START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW!   It's another week full of questions in the world of NFL DFS, so let's get right to it. While there are a number of clear plays this week, there is no shortage of close calls. How do we pick between running backs coming off of big weeks, with a relatively short track record of that performance? How do we rank Jonathan Taylor, Miles Sanders, and even Alvin Kamara? Could we take a speculative look at JD McKissic? What about the Tampa Bay running back situation? After the obvious Derrick Henry and Cam Akers plays, things get hairy in a hurry. The guys also discuss how the perception of plays like Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray is changing. Can we trust either given that their carries seem to be headed back in the right direction or should we be more concerned with their larger body of work? They also discuss a number of lingering injury situations, a few surprise cheap options, and more! Love the DFSR podcast? Go ahead and subscribe and listen wherever you get your daily podcasts. Week 15 NFL Betting Picks and Strategy

Posted by on Dec 17, 2020 in featured, News, NFL Betting, Sports Betting |

Week 15 NFL Betting Picks and Strategy Coming off a 5-3 week last time around in Week 14 and getting pumped for another slate of Sunday action. Let’s dig into some bets. Enjoy gambling online? Check out JackpotCity Online Casino! They offer a wide range of online and mobile casino slots, from jackpot slots to exciting video slots. They also offer more than 400+ online casino games! Head on over and check out what they have to offer. Miami Dolphins Opponent NE MIA -2 MIA -130 This line has been moving anywhere from MIA -3 to MIA -1 depending on the site. But for now, it’s sitting consistently at MIA -2. Though the Dolphins and Patriots are separated by only two wins on the record board, the two teams have had decidedly different seasons on paper. The Dolphins have outscored opponents by 85 points this year while the Patriots have a -2 point differential on the season. Miami is coming off a game against the Chiefs in which they played really well on the road by couldn’t quite keep pace. Meanwhile, the Patriots have had extended rest playing last Thursday though they got thrashed by the Rams 24-3 and that score makes the game appear even closer than it was. This could be tough sledding for a Patriots team that ranks 28th on offense with the pass against the Dolphins who are top-5 defending it. They’ll have to stick to the ground game where there’s some advantage, but it’s hard to imagine New England mustering a ton of offense. The Dolphins, at home, really need this game to keep their playoff hopes alive while the Patriots could wrap their season up here with a loss. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Opponent ATL TB -5 The Bucs stumbled for a few games, losing three out of four before turning things around in Week 14 with a win over the Vikings. It’s worth noting though their three losses in that stretch were to Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, and New Orleans Saints, teams with a combined 31-8 record on the season. That’s a tough stretch. Things ease up considerably here against the Falcons. Atlanta has looked better overall since firing Dan Quinn but are still 1-3 over their last four games. Two of those were to the Saints, but they also dropped a game to the lowly Chargers. Now they’ll face the Bucs who are top five in both offense and defense this season. Meanwhile, Atlanta ranks 14th on defense and are considerably worse against the pass than the run. With the Falcons eliminated from the playoff and the Bucs possibly locking up a playoff berth with a win, this game could...

Quarterback comes down to a decision between Lamar Jackson in the best possible match-up with the Jags, and a host of cheap guys in interesting match-ups. The guys discuss the pros and cons of paying up for a known commodity, or trying to ride the upside of a cheaper option like Jalen Hurts. Running back features two obvious plays in Cam Akers and Derrick Henry, and a whole lot of question marks after that. Doug and James discuss a few of the other potential options while acknowledging that you might be waiting until later in the week to solidify a third running back. Wide receiver offers Brandon Aiyuk and Michael Thomas as a nice one-two punch at the top of the position, with a few cheap punt options to consider after that. Tight end basically comes down to Kelce or bust, with even the reasonable cheap options carrying question marks. Love the DFSR podcast?
