Quarterback comes down to a decision between Lamar Jackson in the best possible match-up with the Jags, and a host of cheap guys in interesting match-ups. The guys discuss the pros and cons of paying up for a known commodity, or trying to ride the upside of a cheaper option like Jalen Hurts. Running back features two obvious plays in Cam Akers and Derrick Henry, and a whole lot of question marks after that. Doug and James discuss a few of the other potential options while acknowledging that you might be waiting until later in the week to solidify a third running back. Wide receiver offers Brandon Aiyuk and Michael Thomas as a nice one-two punch at the top of the position, with a few cheap punt options to consider after that. Can we depend on the cheap Dolphins receivers if Parker misses this week? The guys discuss whether we've seen enough to think about it. Tight end basically comes down to Kelce or bust, with even the reasonable cheap options carrying question marks. Love the DFSR podcast? Quarterback Daniel Jones FD 6800 DK 5500 Opponent ARI Proj Points FD - 17.35 DK - 18.11 Daniel Jones' status is largely unknown heading into the weekend, and carrying a questionable tag for Sunday's tilt with the Cardinals. If he plays, I don't mind running Evan Engram in any format. Heck, Jones himself might be playable at these prices on DraftKings if he has a clean bill of health. If he sits, the entire Giants' passing game is unplayable. Running Back Christian McCaffrey FD 10000 DK 9200 Opponent DEN Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 McCaffrey appears set to miss another week, opening up room for Mike Davis to shoulder the entire running back load once again. Davis was a highly owned cash game option earlier in the season, but the shine sort of came off him after McCaffrey returns. With 21 touches in each of his last two games, it's hard to argue that he's not seeing RB1 level touches. The Panthers are 3 point favorites in this one, and Davis should be in line for RB1 touches once again. Chris Carson FD 7700 DK 6900 Opponent NYJ Proj Points FD - 14.23 DK - 15.44 The word on Carson is that the Seahawks hope to ease him back toward a full workload, which unfortunately means it will be tough to depend on him for DFS purposes in cash games. Still, he managed 19 opportunities last week against the Giants, and could be in line for even more if the Seahawks have the commanding lead Vegas projects them for here. It's hard to imagine him getting elite, 25+ touches, but he could be a great big tournament option on the basis of his goalline touches alone here. Josh Jacobs FD 7400 DK 6300 Opponent IND Proj Points FD - 12.36 DK - 13.53 Jacobs was a limited participant in practice this week, which is a step up from where he was heading into last weekend. Unfortunately we likely won't know Jacobs' status before lineup lock at 1pm, but if we do, we should be prepared. Devontae Booker would be a cash game consideration if Jacobs were to sit, though as we saw last week, opportunity does not necessarily mean production for the Raiders' back-up running back. D'Andre Swift FD 6900 DK 6500 Opponent GB Proj Points FD - 0 DK...

Injury analysis for week 13 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings

Injury analysis for week 13 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings Welcome to our weekly injury analysis article! There aren't as many show-stopping injuries as there have been in some weeks, but there is still plenty going on, so let's get right to it. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NFL and MLB optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterback Daniel Jones FD 7100 DK 5500 Opponent SEA Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Jones has been missing practice this week with a hamstring injury, relegated to doing independent drills on the sideline. Currently, it's believed that he won't suit up against the Seahawks, leaving the quarterbacking duties to Cold McCoy. McCoy himself is not a play by any stretch, and his being under center certainly takes the shine off of potential cash game play Evan Engram. Still, Engram caught two of McCoy's 10 attempts last week, so he shouldn't be ruled out entirely given how shallow tight end is once again. Tua Tagovailoa FD 6700 DK 5900 Opponent CIN Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Tua has been limited in practice this week after missing last week's tilt with the Jets, but things appear to be trending in the direction of him playing in this one vs. Cincinnati. Even when he's started, Tua hasn't exactly been an explosive DFS quarterback, so I'm not sure how much his return totally matters for our purposes. Receivers like Davante Parker probably prefer Fitzpatrick being under center, though it's close enough that Tua's status doesn't effect our projections in the passing game too dramatically. Running Back Dalvin Cook FD 10500 DK 9500 Opponent JAX Proj Points FD - 22.74 DK - 24.06 Cook has been practicing in a limited fashion all week, and while it appears as though he's going to play, his injury should at least give you pause if you're considering investing this much salary in him. It's a great match-up with a great prospective game-script, though, and no one would fault you for running him out there if it appears he's in line for his usual run this Sunday. Chris Carson FD 8000 DK 6300 Opponent NYG Proj Points FD - 11.42 DK - 12.63 On paper, this should be a smash spot for Chris Carson and the Seattle running game, but it's not totally clear to me that they have any plans of turning the whole workload over to Carson just yet. He took just 37% of the offensive snaps last week, and he's been limited in practice all week with...

Injury analysis for week 11 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings

Quarterback Drew Brees FD 8200 DK 6600 Opponent ATL Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 As an old guy myself, I'm horrified by Drew Brees and hoping for a speedy recovery. As a DFS owner, I'm thinking about the ramifications for this weekend's contests. Adam Schefter reported that Taysom Hill is going to start against the Falcons this weekend, which creates one of the strangest DFS opportunities we've had since we started this business. Hill is currently a $4,500 tight end on FanDuel, which makes him an absolute must in cash games on FanDuel this week. UPDATE: The Saints have walked back the news that Hill is the definitive starter, so you'll need to check this news as the game gets closer. Matthew Stafford FD 7500 DK 6000 Opponent CAR Proj Points FD - 17.32 DK - 18.01 Stafford has been limited in practice, but the Lions seem optimistic that he'll be out there against the Panthers this week. He's wearing a protective device to safeguard the torn ligament in his thumb, but he should be ready to go by game time. I'm not interested in playing Stafford, and would be concerned about running any of his receivers even if he gets the green light. Teddy Bridgewater FD 7200 DK 6400 Opponent DET Proj Points FD - 18.03 DK - 18.62 Bridgewater is currently considered "unlikely" to play against the Lions this weekend, and his absence would kill any remaining interest we have in the speculative Carolina receivers. An MCL sprain could hamper Bridgewater's ability to get out in space and create time for his receivers to get open, and even if he plays I'd be pretty concerned to play his receivers here. Running Back Christian McCaffrey FD 10000 DK 9400 Opponent DET Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 McCaffrey has been ruled out of week 11's tilt with the Lions, leaving the RB1 duties to Mike Davis once again. While you can't take Davis' performance against a brutal Bucs defense as an indicator of how he'll do every week, the combination of a bad week and a dramatic rise in price certainly takes some of the shine off of him. Still, he's a terrific play in big tournaments, where the aforementioned concerns should create an opportunity to play a high upside back with relatively low ownership. Joe Mixon...

Injury analysis for week 10 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings Welcome to our weekly injury analysis article! It's an odd week with injuries, and a lot of decisions that might come down to the wire. Let's jump in. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NFL and MLB optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger FD 7400 DK 6200 Opponent CIN Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Well, we live in a world where sitting next to the wrong guy on the plane can land you on the IR. Roethlisberger did just that last Sunday, sitting next to Vance McDonald, who received a positive Covid test on Monday. Ben is now in a five-day quarantine, and we won't know his status until Saturday when he might participate in a walk-through. If he plays, it's a green light from us on the entire Steelers offense in a great match-up. If he sits, the Steelers become irrelevant for DFS purposes with Mason Rudolph under center. Kyle Allen FD 6500 DK 4800 Opponent DET Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Allen's season is over, leaving the quarterback duties to soft throwing Alex Smith. While it's not clear that either quarterback should be chucking balls in the NFL, Alex Smith does change the offense considerably. We saw this come to pass in dramatic fashion against the Giants, where running back JD McKissic receive 14 targets, even lining up in the slot for a number of snaps. For now we're downgrading conventional deep threat Terry McLaurin, and upgrading McKissic to cash game consideration on DraftKings. Running Back Christian McCaffrey FD 9700 DK 9000 Opponent TB Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 McCaffrey is out for week 10, leaving the running back duties back in Mike Davis' mostly capable hands. It's a tough match-up with the Bucs, but Davis is cheap enough that you're going to need to consider running him in all formats. Nick Chubb FD 8200 DK 6800 Opponent HOU Proj Points FD - 11.96 DK - 12.35 The final word on Chubb for this weekend is that the Browns will consult with the medical staff before clearing Chubb to play against the Texans. If Chubb is cleared, we'll be staying away from the Cleveland running game altogether. If he sits, we'll take a long hard look at Kareem Hunt in cash games. UPDATE: Chubb has been cleared, and the Browns' running game is a stay-away. Chris Carson FD 7800 DK 6200 Opponent LAR Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0...

Injury analysis for week 9 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings

Injury analysis for week 9 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings Welcome to our weekly injury analysis article! Quarterback Matthew Stafford FD 7500 DK 6600 Opponent MIN Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Stafford's situation is actually pretty complicated right now. He hasn't had a positive COVID test, but was around people who did. He can still theoretically be activated for Sunday's game, but we won't know until Sunday. His status is pretty important for potential cash game options TJ Hockenson and Marvin Jones Jr., both of whom become unplayable if Stafford doesn't suit up here. Gardner Minshew II FD 7000 DK 5800 Opponent HOU Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Minshew has already been ruled out of the Jags' game against the Texans, leaving an already bad offense without their starting quarterback. Perhaps this leaves extra touches for James Robinson? Robinson isn't priced for cash game consideration, though, and this move should really only impact your big tournament lineups (if that). Jake Luton is not playable. Running Back Christian McCaffrey FD 9500 DK 8500 Opponent KC Proj Points FD - 17 DK - 18.69 Well, this is news! Everyone's RB1 heading into the year looks to be returning for the Panthers' tilt against the Chiefs, which should at the very least excite season-long fantasy owners. For DFS purposes, though, I'm not sure how much we should read into this. The Panthers are 10.5 point underdogs, and Davis has been reasonable in McCaffrey's absence. Adding all these factors together has me wanting to leave C-Mac on the shelf, and I'll be closely monitoring how he is used here to see if I should consider him in future weeks. Ezekiel Elliott FD 8000 DK 6600 Opponent PIT Proj Points FD - 13.44 DK - 14.84 Zeke was limited in practice throughout the week, and there is interesting phrasing around his status, which suggests that his "workload" is a gametime decision. That's a red flag to the max if you're considering playing Zeke in this horrendous match-up, but also implies that you can't consider his back-ups either. Josh Jacobs FD 7700 DK 6300 Opponent LAC Proj Points FD - 16.36 DK - 18 There were questions around Jacobs' status throughout the week, but he returned from his illness on Friday and practiced. He's a reasonable big tournament play...
