The Course Previous Five Canadian Open Winners 2022 - Rory McIlroy 2019 - Rory McIlroy 2018 - Dustin Johnson 2017 - Jhonattan Vegas 2016 - Jhonattan Vegas Top Targets Justin Rose World Golf Ranking (#28) Vegas Odds (18/1) DraftKings ($9,700) FanDuel ($11,100) I am taking a risk fading Rory this week and leaning towards a more balanced build and it starts with Justin Rose who is #1 in my model. He comes in with four straight Top 25 finishes led by some elite iron play as he has gained a whopping 12.2 strokes on approach over just the last two events(Charles Schwab, PGA Champ) alone. Over the last 24 rounds, he ranks(in this field) 2nd in SG: Approach, 9th/5th in Proximity from 175-200 & 200+ yards, 3rd in Par 4 scoring, 9th in par 5 scoring, and 8th in birdie or better. While he is not elite at finding the fairway(45th in FW gained L24) you combine it with elite iron play, above-average around the green and putting, and he makes for a nice fit this week. Matt Kuchar World Golf Ranking (#51) Vegas Odds (40/1) DraftKings ($9,100) FanDuel ($9,900) It has been a wild ride for Kuchar in the short-term(T62, MC, T43 last three events) but he checks a lot of boxes this week and cannot be ignored North of the border. While on different courses and never here at Oakdale, Kuchar has had success in Canada making the cut in seven of his last eight trips including five Top 10 finishes. Statistically, he profiles well for this positional course as he is accurate off the tee and despite some wild swings in the iron play, is an elite scrambler(2nd in SG ATG in this field) and very good putter. I am expecting at least a Top 25 from Kuchhhhhhhh this week! Michael Kim World Golf...

He has not only won here twice(2021, 2019) but has finished 7th or better five of his last six trips and is easily ranked #1 in Strokes Gained: Total and Strokes Gained: Tee to Green in the course history model. In terms of current form, Cantlay hasn't won since the BMW Championship last fall but has made 11 of 12 cuts since then with six Top 10's including last week at the PGA Championship. If you are not playing multi-entry this week, narrowing down the top tier is very difficult and as of now Cantlay is my favourite of that group. Kevin Streelman World Golf Ranking (#141) Vegas Odds (150/1) DraftKings ($6,700) FanDuel ($7,800) As with every elevated event with softer pricing, we get tons of viable value plays that stand out in one area or another. Streelman is one that stands out in multiple areas starting with his Top 10 rank in my course history model. Despite missing the cut here last year, had made the cut in eight straight trips prior with three top 10's and six top 25 finishes. More good news as he comes in with excellent form in May coming off a T9 at the Charles Schwab Challenge and T18 at the Wells Fargo. He checks a lot of...

Pitchers Framber Valdez FD 11600 DK 10700 Opponent - OAK (Undecided) Park - OAK FD - 33.31 DK - 17.45 On a slate lacking top pitching, Valdez stands out in a big way checking all the boxes. First of all, he is coming off a complete-game shutout against these very A's in his last start and has tallied 40+ DK/55+ FD points in two of his last three trips to the bump. He not only gives us a ton of innings(6+ in 8 of 10 starts), he has also provided a ton of upside with seven or more strikeouts in four straight and six of his last seven starts. The price is very reasonable considering the elite matchup and lack of top options putting Valdez in a tier of his own on Saturday and in play in all formats. Josiah Gray FD 8900 DK 7200 Opponent - KC (Brady Singer) Park - KC FD - 32.52 DK - 16.9 The system prefers paying up for both pitchers on DraftKings tonight but if you are looking for a value option, consider Josiah Gray. The price has come down after back-to-back starts allowing just one earned run and he now gets a terrific matchup against a Royals team that is bottom five in overall run-scoring and bottom three in wOBA(.282) and wRC+(74) against right-handed pitching. The walks can be an issue and the main reason for the gap in xFIP(4.93) and ERA(2.65) but more good news as KC walks the fourth-fewest so far this season. All things considered, Gray is my top value arm tonight. Catcher/First Base Joey Meneses FD 2800 DK 3200 Opponent - KC (Brady Singer) Park - KC FD - 11.04 DK - 8.45 We have a very interesting slate in that almost all of the top offences are in tougher matchups while we get some value teams in great spots. This will make it much easier to load up on starting pitching and one of those value teams that make it easier to manage that build is the Nationals. As a team, they have been riding high lately(.364 wOBA/127 wRC+ last 14) and now get a plus matchup against Singer and his 7.48 ERA and 58% hard contract rate against. For Meneses, he has been very consistent lately with hits in 15 of his last 17 games while hitting .375 during that stretch and driving in 18 runs. At...

He comes in with four straight Top 15 finishes at a major going back to last year's T13 at the PGA Championship and X also ranks 5th in this field making 90% of his cuts at majors going back to the start of 2018. He also comes in with elite form coming off three straight Top 10's at the Wells Fargo(elevated event), RBC Heritage(elevated event), and the Masters(major). At a price under $10K on DraftKings, Xander is my favourite golfer to start a balanced build with this week. Scottie Scheffler World Golf Ranking (#2) Vegas Odds (8/1) DraftKings ($11,200) FanDuel ($12,000) If paying right up, we have a tough decision between Rahm, Rory, and Scheffler and while I will probably have exposure to all three in some way but it's Scheffler who stands out the most. This is mainly due to the extreme consistency he has shown entering the week with not just 14 straight cuts made but during that stretch, he has reeled off two wins(WMPO, PLAYERS) and finished 12th or better in 13 of those events with seven Top...

Pitchers Framber Valdez FD 10700 DK 10700 Opponent - CHC (Jameson Taillon) Park - CHC FD - 37.64 DK - 19.79 We get a very appealing pitching slate tonight as there are three big favourites, two of them at home, and all three in different price ranges. Let's start at the top with Framber Valdez who is coming off his best start of the season going eight innings, allowing just three hits and one earned run while striking out 12 with zero walks. For the season, he has held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in six of eight starts and enters with an impressive 2.38 ERA/2.60 xFIP. The Cubs offence has dropped off some after a hot start and they are striking out 25% of the time over the last two weeks. All things considered, Valdez is my top pitcher on this slate. Michael Wacha FD 9200 DK 7800 Opponent - KC (Brad Keller) Park - KC FD - 27.91 DK - 14.51 For value, as a SP on DraftKings, I will be turning to Michael Wacha who comes in as the biggest favourite(-212) on the slate. After a rough stretch where he 21 hits and 12 earned runs across two starts, Wacha has really bounced back allowing just nine hits and four earned runs over his last three starts while giving us quality starts in two straight. He now faces a bottom-10 offence in the Royals who are also considerably worse against right-handed pitching(.294 wOBA/81 wRC+). Wacha is my favorite SP2 option on DraftKings and a GPP pivot on FanDuel. Catcher/First Base Christian Walker FD 3500 DK 4500 Opponent - OAK (Drew Rucinski) Park - OAK FD - 13.07 DK - 9.83 The bats are also in a great spot tonight with seven teams sitting with 5+ implied runs and the Diamondbacks are my favourite from a PTS/$ standpoint. There are one of the surprises early in the season as they are five games over .500 and their offence is Top 5 in runs scored and Top 10 in almost every advanced metric, as well. For Walker, he has cooled off a bit in the short-term but has been very productive overall with nine home runs and 28 RBI and has seven multi-hit efforts in his last 15 games. Fire up Walker in all formats. Also Consider: Spencer Steer(CIN) as a punt option who gets to hit in...
DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings for Wednesday, 5/10
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Wednesday, 5/10/23 That Tuesday card wasn't the best we've seen in these playoffs, but we're expecting a sensational slate here. We have two closeout games to talk about, with Miami and Los Angeles looking to end their respective series. I have a gut feeling that the home team is going to prevail in both of these games and extend each series. The recent form wouldn't indicate that, but the Knicks and Warriors have to play well with their backs against the wall in a 3-1 set. With that in mind, let's ride the starting point guards of those two teams. We've got you completely covered. Point Guard Stephen Curry FD - $10400 DK - $10000 Opponent - LAL Proj Pts FD - 50 DK - 53.02 If you're fading Chef Curry today, you should probably find another hobby. This former MVP is facing elimination in this Game 5, and he's been unstoppable in those circumstances in the past. The former MVP had 74 DraftKings points in the Game 7 against Sacramento and is averaging 29.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 7.1 assists, and 1.6 steals across 41 minutes a night in his 12 career elimination games. That's well over 50 DK points per outing, and we have to assume that'll be his floor since Curry is looking at 40-45 minutes and 25-30 shots. We also saw Curry drop 76 fantasy points in Game 4, which is no surprise since LA allowed the second-most fantasy point to opposing PGs in the regular season. Jalen Brunson FD - $9000 DK - $8700 Opponent - MIA Proj Pts FD - 43.56 DK - 44.74 Brunson is clearly the Knicks best player at this point, and they're going to need him to step up in this must-win Game 5. That's what Brunson did in Game 4, collecting 58 DraftKings points across 44 minutes of play. That gives him a 45-point average across his last 11 outings, scoring at least 37 fantasy points in all of those. The usage is what's going to make him valuable because he could be looking at 25 shots and 45 minutes, just like Curry. Not to mention, Immanuel Quickley is expected to sit, and it wouldn't be shocking to see...
